I’ve had a bottle of Deus stashed away since 2017 or 2018, first cellared and then kept in cold fridge for a few years and was planning on drinking it this weekend.
Has anyone consumed a bottle 5+ years past best before? I haven’t tried it before so I don’t really have any kind of a benchmark but I know sort of what to expect as it’s a champagne-like and yes I’m going to crack it open regardless but I’d appreciate any feedback on how it might go down. Might it make me gag, will it be a shell of its glorious younger self or will it taste devine?
Guys is this the bottle of St Bernardus winking monk? I'm asking because on the net the label shows the monk with closed left eye and on my bottle the eye is open. So what's the deal?
Helllloooo reddit,
I could use your help, for my Bachelor thesis I am conducting research on consumer behaviour and preferences about Belgian beer consumers. So, if you are from Belgium I would highly appreciate it if you could fill in my survey it takes around 8-10 minutes and you have a chance to win a box of 8 specialty beers per each 50 respondents we will award 1 box.
here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/rAGTw1zxNKdmmsoC7
I always go for the Chimay green label when I get the chance 😋
What's everyone's preferred glass to drink from?
For me, it's a wide glass so that the foam dissipates sooner.
Edit: beer has been claimed, leaving this up in case there is a no-show, but assume for now it's not available anymore!
Hopefully this is ok to post, but I have a lot of 5-8 year old Belgian beers you can pick up for free in Tilburg, NL. (this may seem a weird offer, but a lot of people would argue Belgians get better with age).
Two catches:
I know you get these glasses alot but i just wanted to show my collection
I love Piraat, but it pours the biggest head I've ever seen! Not complaining, just wondering why?
I did not find any information regarding the fact that there're actually two bruns in Bourgogne des Flandres lineup: one with the red label and the other with the black one.
Based on photos from the web, we can see that the latter has additional "Brun" inscriptions and also is a bit darker than the former one.
Also, there's no such thing as "black label" on brewery official site (only "red label" exists).
Wikipedia and even beer shops all over the world (incl. my country) also seem to ignore this fact and always treat them like the same beer which... is not, maybe? I see as much "red label" bottles on the internet as the black ones and actually planning to buy the "black bottle" and give it a shot since I've already tried the "red bottle" and they're both equally easy to find in my city.
I just don't get it: why two seemingly different bottles for a seemingly the same beer? And this beer is quite popular not to notice it.
Hands down my favorite beer of all time. Used to be able to get it in Denton Texas. I can’t find it sate side. Anyone have a source?
I affectionately called it pig beer. I’ve never felt so wonderful on a brew. I’d like to get it again.
Has anyone had this brand ? At my local store, they have a few varieties of the brand which are all 50USD or more for 750ml. For reference, same size Chimay is $15. How can it be so expensive? Maybe it’s really good but surely not worth that much?
I love how they always have the proper chalice for the beer.
I really like this beer 😋
On the Orval glasses, does anyone know what the significance is of the numbers on the L?
