We just added a couple of cases of Live Animals to our cooler at Risky Business, on the border between Burbank and North Hollywood, and it is really beautiful! Labeled a "West Coast Pilsner", Live Animals is crisp, floral, and VERY easy to drink. More to come...
Hi Gang, Please let me know if your local breweries have any special seasonal beers on tap. The weirder the better. Cheers
Hello gang,
I'd like to invite a German friend to an Oktoberfest-like event in the metro area. Since we all know they won't do the real thing justice, we'd like to check it out the worst ones to at least get a good kick out of it. Any recommendations?
Danke ;)
Anyone seeing much in the way of fresh hop can releases yet? Iāve seen a decent amount of tap options but so far the only cans Iāve seen were Kern River Wet Exit at Handy Market.

Is there anywhere else in LA to get cider of this quality? I know of Honest Abe, but don't like them nearly as much.
Prices are on the shelf
Hi All! I live in MN and am staying in DTLA from June 20-24. Im looking for the MUST TRY BEERS (and breweries). I work in industry, so fairly open to all styles, but IPAs are my least favorite style. Top choices are hefes, farmhouses, sours, barleywine, and stouts. Close to downtown preferred, or groups of multiple breweries.
(as an added bonus, if anyone knows where I can snag any Ube flavored beer... I'd be extremely appreciativr)
As the title states, anyone know where I can find it on draft or better yet, in cans. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Saw that Cantillon posted all the locations and none were in LA but just throwing a hail mary to see if anyone knows about places in the area that might have it or have some cool lambics floating around...
Anyone attend and have a time?
Nearly Lolād when the beer rep told me the price and then tried to justify it by saying they cost $15 for a single can in NYCā¦ what? No
OH 4-packs are max $24 and some are $16 https://store.otherhalfbrewing.com/product/build-your-own-case/
one was Bagel & Schmear single IPA Didnāt bother looking at the other
One case of each, sitting out warm at room temp Walked out empty handed
Here's the email they sent out recently:
A rare opportunity to join the Founders Club ... and get beer for life! First things first...2023 kicked us in the pants. Well...it started in 2022 actually...but here we are, still pouring beers and starting to get our kitchen going again [have you seen the awesome bread pictures for our panini?]. The point is, we're tenacious. We're determined. We're optimistic. We could also use your help [many have asked how they can], and the Founders Club is a great win/win situation...you get the beer you love, we get the financial boost we need. What is the Founders Club? It is our membership club that offers you beer for life for one up-front fee! Think of it as a mug club on steroids. We are opening up 10 spots only at this time, so if you're interested, click on the link below* to secure your place to get Beer for Life!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What exactly does Beer for Life Mean?
Beer for Life for our Founder's Club members is offered as your choice of our available beers at no additional cost in our Taproom during normal business hours. The beer is considered pre-paid.
How much does it cost?
$2,999 plus tax
Does the MacLeod Ale Founders Club program expire?
No. If you are a supporter- itās for life. As long as you are alive and kicking and we're open and brewing you'll be able to redeem your pints.
Does my Beer for Life need to be consumed on site?
Yes, the program covers beers that are served on site and must be consumed on site.
Can I really drink as much as I would like?
Yes, just remember we canāt serve you if you look or act inebriated per California law. In other words, we canāt and wonāt overserve you.
What about Tips?
Tips are not included in the Beer for life program. Please support our bartenders with the customary tip for drinks. The tip goes directly to the bartender and not to MacLeod Ale.
Can I share my Beer for Life Program with Friends?
We love that you want to bring friends to MacLeod, but Founders can only claim their pints for themselves. If you purchase pints for friends, they will be charged at full price.
Can I buy the program as a gift?
Absolutely, a MacLeod Ale Founders Club Membership would make an AWESOME gift!
All memberships are final and non-transferable.
MacLeod Ale does reserve the right to terminate a membership if program rules (as stated in FAQ) are violated.
You must be at least 21 years of age to join.
*Also available in the taproom and can be paid by credit card, check or cash
Way too rich for my blood, but I'm sure there's someone out there with that type of money and dedication to MacLeod to do it.
It seems like there's not as much info out this year about when & where kegs of PtY are going to be tapped. Looks like they've already started to pop up in Norther CA, and I did see something about RRB having some power outages so I'm wondering if that's going to create any issues for keg distribution outside of NorCal but I haven't seen any articles or posts from the usual places that get them.
Anyone see any release details yet for places around LA?
Not sure if this is the right subreddit or not but anybody know of any stores or bars that sell National Bohemian? Being from Baltimore, I wanted to properly drink the beer of my people for the Ravens game tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
