Friends are coming in this weekend and we have a big group but they also have their 19yr and we want to include him as much as possible. Any good bars, clubs, music venues, etc that we can get him in? Or Halloween festivities that would allow?
Hey yall, I’m looking for a couple of Duvel Magnums(1.5L) for my father’s 60th birthday next weekend? Any idea if I can find them locally? The big box stores haven’t been fruitful. TIA and cheers!
What would be the best area to stay (hotel) that had a few breweries that were easily walkable? I would prefer something away from the 6th street area ideally.
Bought a six pack of Live Oak Oaktoberfest the other day at HEB and it contained a single can of Live Oak Gold along with the 5 other cans. I’m not complaining, just curious if this was a packing error or part of some promotion (or it’s a specially marked “golden ticket” can and I won a VIP brewery tour!) Any ideas?
Thanks for all the info from my last survey ask. Now here is another that will help me with my research. When going out to a bar or restaurant what 3-5 LOCAL taps are you hoping and wanting to see on their tap wall?

My wife and I are heading to Austin in a couple of weeks and are wanting to hit up a few breweries. What are some can’t miss spots? A reason why you recommend a particular brewery would be helpful. Thanks!
Hey everyone, I moved into Austin about 7 months ago and have lived in CT and MA before coming down south. To put it short, the beer styles I am finding are different. I am used to seeing a menu filled with hazy IPAs and more so double/triple IPAs. And usually 2/3 stouts and at least one BA stout. Fruited sours and and just heavy beers overall. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hefe (hats off to live oak). But I feel like a lot of what I see is just the same.
So far my IPA go to is pinthouse, but southern hemisphere Emilio has been the closest to home I have tried from them. Next in line is 3rd level brewing. I have yet to find BA stouts. I want to support local. has anyone from the north east found “the place” that does it all?
Anyone noticed any bars or breweries who’ve started using side pull taps? I feel like they’ve been popping up in a lot of breweries lately, either to do ‘slow pours’ or just regular pilsners. I haven’t noticed any around here yet, but I was curious if anyone who’s more versed in the brewery scene has found any.
Hiya- Anyone seen it on draft anywhere, or is anyone expecting it shortly? My usual go-to is The League but they don’t have it.
Just announced on their Instagram that their last day will be this Sunday, October 13th. A real shame and loss for the South Austin community.

I used to work in the same complex as them and would go there almost weekly. Its been a few months now and I went back and didnt recognize anyone. One of the beertenders was pouring stadium pours (touching the beer faucet to the glass and providing less than 1cm of head) they had an event in the back so maybe it was just flex staff, but then I got an email from them thats basically saying "please come in and drink a beer", no beer/coffee news, just like, a plea. It all just makes me worried they've hit hard times or something. House United has gotta be my favorite coffee stout ever, I hope I'm just making stuff up 👀
Crazy they charge for Stella but the Electric Jellyfish is free! I may just miss my flight.
Our team put together a mostly complete list of which breweries allow dogs inside or not. After having this issue for years now, we wanted to try and build a full reference list.
Open Request - We are going to put together a dedicated article around dog friendly breweries. Email me a pic (abv@craftbeeraustin.com) of your dog at a brewery or around beer or whatever. I want to make a collage as part of the article.
In the meantime, you can see the list here: https://craftbeeraustin.com/austin-brewery-guide
A few years ago I happened on a little neighborhood homebrew party/fest over off shoal creek. Anyone know anything about it? I can find past years but nothing about any future events.
I’m curious, when it comes to Austin breweries what top 5-10 come straight to your mind when you think of local Austin breweries. This will really help me out on a project I’m working on. Thanks to all that help!!
