^(*You have probably guessed by now that this job ad was shamelessly written by chatgpt, but despite this it is a very real position that we are offering for the restaurant & bottle shop at our hotel. The hotel & restaurant is still under construction so you won't see much on google maps.)
Hi friends, I'll be popping over next week (17hr flight) to go skiing for a few weeks. We're stopping in Kamloops to pick up our preordered groceries and some grog. I'm not sure what bottleo we'll be stopping at because it's arranged by our shuttle company but I was wondering if you can recommend a few popular craft drops I can try while I'm over? Last time I had the grandville winter ale and that was great, something quite different than what I usually have. I don't discriminate on types of beer. Probably looking for a carton to have as a session beer and then a few more unique ones to break it up. Thanks.
Has the beer market gone down in interest? Peche mortel used to sell out in hours. And it's still widely available...
Hello everyone,
I’m putting together a resource on draught line cleaning best practices across Canada and need your help! I’m particularly interested in any province-specific guidelines, regulations, or recommended cleaning schedules. Whether you’re a brewery owner, bar manager, or a knowledgeable industry professional, I’d love to hear from you.
Your insights and experiences will help me compile a comprehensive overview that can benefit businesses and consumers from coast to coast. Please share your location and any relevant details you’ve come across. Thanks in advance, and I appreciate your time and expertise!
Cheers!
But how much is beer worth to consumers? Le Temps dune Bière examined 4168 beers across the country’s ten provinces, half of which were from commercial brands and half from craft breweries. For each province, a minimum of 150 beers were sampled, going up to 900 for more complex markets such as hybrid state-private vendors, for a total of 1869 commercial listings and 2298 craft listings.
The final results show that Quebec has the most expensive 473 ml can of classic IPA in the country, while neighboring Ontario boasts the cheapest.
If you’ve ever went off the beaten path to pick up Quebec craft beer, you likely went to Dépanneur Peluso. They’re closing after 40 years. Pierre-Luc and all the others at Peluso have influenced my beer tastes every time I made it to the city.
I got a gift card to Liquor Mart. I also treated myself to a case of Unibroue (not as good now it's in cans but Don de Dieu truly is a god's gift. I also bought a bottle of Chimay aged in Whisky barrels.. that's a pricy one but should be good!
Last year, while living in Nova Scotia, my partner and I came across Winter Beard in a NSLC and bought it on a whim. He absolutely loved it, but we only found a couple of more cans before it disappeared for the season.
We've since moved to NB, and he brought up hoping to find it again, but we've had no such luck. Has anyone ever seen it in any liquor stores here?
We live all over the country, I'd like to find out what everyone considers to be their "neighbourhood" brewery.
Mine is Section 6 in Brandon, MB. I like to think of myself as a Norm from Cheers there but I'm really a Cliff Claven
Looking for Busch Light Limited edition in Ontario what Store & Location ? Thanks
I have a few crates of Westvletern Blond and 8. I love Belgium beer but i'm not going to drink it all. anyone interested in some ♻?
Hello all!! As the title implies I'm looking to find New Holland Brewing companies Dragons Milk stout in Ontario, I've seen they started distributing up here from Michigan back in 2014 but am unable to find a single store that sells it, thus I decided to turn to reddit for help! If anyone has any info on where I could buy some I'd be over the moon! I do know a couple craft pubs in DT Toronto that serve it but they won't sell it unless you're in for a drink or meal and I'd rather not drive 3 hours just for a drink 😅
I had a mango beer called Mango Cart from Golden Road brewer in Florida, I tried to ask around Sask Liqour but they don't seem to get it here. Any other beer that might taste similar ?
Had some recently on a hot day and it was delicious, refreshing and smooth. Pretty good value too, but in the GTA you can only really find it in 12-packs for $30, or the odd single can.
Thinking of trying their Honey Brown Lager next.
Last time I saw them was a few years ago with Coors Banquet. Anyone brands or local breweries still use them?
I’m pretty new to beer. I never used to drink it because I always found it super filling and/or bloating - each one was like drinking a few pieces of bread, and forget eating food at the same time. I’ve recently discovered that Corona doesn’t bother me at all, though. Are there any others that are similar?
It's been a while..
Looking for brewery/ bottle shop recommendations near Mont-Tremblant, Gatineau & Brossard/ Longueuil areas.
Thanks in advance! I already have Ayawan, LTM, and Du-Bas Canada on the list!
Trying to brew my own beer. I followed the instructions on the can of lager; I inoculated the mixture 5 days ago but it doesn't look right to me. Can someone confirm that this is normal?
Also I added a bag of grains, so that's what is also floating in there (top left).
I've brewed beer before, but this batch looks different. I'm using a different kit this time, so maybe that's why it looks weird?
Gonna be in Vancouver for two weeks starting late Saturday night (Aug 3).
Any must visit breweries or particular beers I should search out? I’m with family so unlikely I’ll get to many breweries but plan on checking out as many canned beers I can from the liquor stores or any other stores with a good selection.
Haven’t been to Vancouver in 10 years and I’m coming from Toronto which has a good brewery scene.
Once in a while I like to grab some mainstream brews as a palate cleanser and a baseline reference. I noticed that the regular 4 pack of tall cans of Grolsch were no longer available at the store, but there was a 12 pack of regular cans that was on sale so I grabbed it. Cracked one open and it didn't taste like Grolsch. I mean it sort of did, but watered down with way less hops or at least a different hop that's only prevalent on the backend with a lingering light bitterness. I read the can and it said "Brewed under the supervision of Grolsch Canada Inc. Saint John, New Brunswick..." It didn't say where it was produced, no country, nothing. So I suspect this is a local contract brew that's less hoppy for the mainstream Canadian market?
Has anyone else experienced this or am I just going crazy?
I’m more of a lager guy, but I’m wanting to switch it up.
I'm not a big fan of most beers except a very small niche category that I love!! I really enjoyed thre Carlsberg Elephant (8% ABV) and Budweiser Magnum, which I've enjoyed during my travels.
Now, I'm looking for strong Canadian beers that match their taste and alcohol percentage. Can you recommend some options that are easily available in your local liquor store? (Because, let's be real, I live on an island - shoutout to my fellow Newfoundlanders who know the struggle of getting the bare minimum shipped in).
Specifically, I'm looking for beers with:
TIA, for your suggestions! Help a beer lover find their new favorite brew 😊
Ferment & prosper! Cheers 🍻
Ahoy! I really enjoyed Hinano while on vacation in french polynesia and wondering if there's anywhere it's imported in Canada. Anyone know?
Hey!
Maybe not the right place to post but my partners birthday is coming up and he would love to experience some labatt blue again (had it once before and loved it) but can’t find anywhere to buy in Australia? If anyone knows where I can buy it here or ship it here please let me know! Thanks!
Looking for a small beer or the like in Vancouver area. Something that is stronger than 0.5% but not as strong as 3%. Thank you!
What's the best option that still has flavour? I don't need anything crazy as I usually drink Steamwhistle or various light craft beers (Camerons First Light, Prince Eddys Fast Eddys, Ace Hill Pil, Amsterdam 3 Speed, Muskoka Craft Lager, Burdock Bloor Light, Fairweather Cheap Seats, etc.) but I'd like to have an option that is easier on the waistline. Sleeman Clear 2.0 is not great... I feel like I liked Michelob Ultra much better but haven't had one in awhile.
What's your go to low carb/low cal beer?
Everyone I talk to seems to think that west coast ipa is coming roaring back this summer (not that it truly left). Is society truly ready for clear and bitter again?
