Will be in the city and suburbs this weekend to check out the many of the cities breweries. This is a last minute trip that I have not been able to plan ahead well, as circumstances changed with my work and this is my last free weekend in a while.
Frankly, Chicago intimidates me. Traffic/parking all have made me hesitant to do brewery visits.
In the area, I’ve visited Noon Whistle, Energy City, and Hailstorm in Tinley. I’ve never been to any breweries in the city.
My preferences are IPAs and sours.
I’m not a fan of traditional German style beers, but can make do.
I’d like to visit Hop Butcher, Revolution, and am open to further ideas in the city or suburbs.
Any must visit places I can’t not visit?
Any breweries I need to stay away from due to lack of parking?
I’ve searched , but seem to have outdated results of any recommended stops on the train that I could hit multiple?
I’ll be staying in Schaumburg, but have all day Friday and Saturday to travel.
Thanks! Feeling a bit nervous due to the last minute trip.
Hey y’all,
I’m coming up to Chicago from Birmingham for the Stevie Wonder concert this weekend and won’t have the wife or kids with me so I’m free to hit up some good beer spots. I’m staying between the Willis Tower and the Museum of Art close to the Central Loop.
I’d love A) a few good places to get great IPAs of all varieties (sours are my second favorite so throw those in two). Brewery or just a good beer bar. I’m fine with an L trip if there is a good hot spot to hit a few places if that’s a good option. B) I could also use a good suggestion for the best Chicago pizza I could hit up too.
Lastly, anything comes to mind that’s cool/fun to do this weekend as a solo tourist, let me know, but beer first and pizza second, ha!
Cheers!
Hiii anyone who has leftist politics (pro-Palestine, anti-capitalism, POC-forward, queer-forward/feminist, etc.) wanna hang out and have a beer?
my birthday's in a couple weeks and i'm on the hunt for a solid bar option, preferably near brigeport, with more hard cider options on the menu than i can choose from
Hi All - I have tickets to the AM session for Rare day and just found out a friend of mine is also going to be in town. Does anyone have an extra Rare Day AM ticket that they are looking to get rid of? Much appreciated.
Curious if it’s too early to seek out the Revolution Brewery Deep Wood’s Deth’s Tar from Binnys in Chicago.
A little more convenient for me to grab from Binnys then head all the way to Rev Brewing
There’s some decent ones from Off Color, but I’m wondering if anyone could recommend 2-3% ABV beers from other breweries? TIA!
This was always a favorite spot to hit when I made my way to Chicago area, and now I see that it's closed. Was business not good? Temporary close? Any plans to re-open?
The annual fall celebration independently produced by Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery returns 10/12-10/13 and it should be another incredible weekend of delicious beer, local food and bands!

Hi all. I have 2 empty Metropolitan growlers I've had sitting around. Was going to toss them, but don't like throwing out something reusable like glass and figured someone might want them as collectables. Delete if not allowed. Thanks!
I'll be visiting Chicago for the first time with friends the same weekend as the Oct 5 beer fest at the Field Museum. Is this an event that you would recommend? I've heard the Field Museum is great on it's own, so I figured beer tasting on top of it would be fun! Are the exhibits that are open for the beer fest interesting/enough to explore for the evening? Is this event good value for money or do you feel it's overpriced for what you get? How is the coordination of the event? I.e. long lines to get in/for beer or an enjoyable evening? I've been to beer fests with absolutely shit event management, where everything was just another line to wait in. Any info on past experience appreciated!!
As of 3:45pm they are officially out of the $15 beer mug with the $1 refills. They aren’t even checking if you got a ticket from EventBrite. Huge bummer.
