I've inherited a collection Dark Lord from some family, and wanted to see if anyone was interested in buying some. I thought it better to put the money towards my kids' Christmas than drink them.

We start with Michelle’s early entry into the hospitality industry. Holding a host of different roles with Goose Island, Revolution, and Virtue Cider. Roles that include sales, general manager, marketing, and events.
Next we talk about the decision to open her own business, Eris, with her business partner Katy Pizza. We discuss where the name came from, the decision to focus on cider, and the process of converting a one hundred year old former Masonic temple into a brewpub, that had most recently been a Korean church. We discuss Eris’ cider and beer portfolio, as well as their venture into THC beverages. Then we move onto the current outlook on cider, and what difficulties and opportunities exist in the industry.
We also talk about Michelle’s work within the community on issues like mental health, imposter syndrome, and being a resource for others in the craft industry.
You can find Eris at their brewpub, 4240 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60641, or on shelves across Illinois.
It's a Christmas surprise for my friend group but I've accumulated them back to 2016 and was going to put them out next weekend. But in order for the set to be complete I need 2021, anyone know where might have it?
Fwiw i have stuff id trade if someone has it.
Going to be in Schaumburg-Elk Grove Village and down to Brookfield Friday. Any good bottle shops worth checking out?
Anyone spot the Costco Lager by Deschutes in Chicago or its suburbs yet? Been hearing good things about it.
I realize most will go for less than cost, if even that, but am looking to clear space.

Going to be in town this weekend. Any places I might check for extra 2024 Prop? I am a huge BA Barleywine fan.

Trevor Rose-Hamblin, Tim Broyles, and Matthew Moldenhauer joined to review 2024 Krampus.
We chat about Trevor's start in the restaurant business, building his was up to GM of the famed Moto restaurant with one of his mentors Homaro Cantu. We talk about his beginnings as a home brewer, and how that evolved into the OIB concept.
Then we talk about how being a trained chef impacts him as a brewer, from recipe design, to a DIY focus on the highest quality ingredients. We discuss some of OIB's most well known beers including Beezer, Della, and Krampus, their barrel aged stout series. The discussion has even more importance after OIB won silver for the “Special Strong Porter & Stout” category for Chumperado, a variant of Krampus that heavily relies on homemade ingredients.
We also talk about Trevor's work with groups like The Trotter Project (@TheTrotterProject) and Hope for the Day (@HopeForTheDay). Discussing why mental health is so important to him, and how he integrates it into business practices. I also try to highlight what a great leader Trevor is in not only his business, but in the industry.
Thanks for listening and if there’s anyone you’d like to hear from let me know!🍻
I hate missed connection posts but I'm trying to be more bold in life and overcome my ridiculous social anxiety so here we go... I was a volunteer (have been volunteering for many years now, highly recommend it!) and one of the organizers is just the cutest. His name is AJ, pretty sure he's Puerto Rican (has the best fro), about 5'4' with all the energy in the world, if you've ever met him you probably know who I'm talking about. I've worked with him before and I chatted with him a number of times this weekend but by the time I got up the nerve to ask him out he had left for the weekend. I don't expect anything to come from this but if you happen to know him and know if he's single, I'm the volunteer with the neon green hair who was there all weekend. Thanks, sorry for being awkward (it's my specialty!)
For anyone who went yesterday, what are the “can’t miss” beers?
Does Chicago have a version of pubpass? We’ve enjoyed the ones from mpls, Milwaukee, and Madison. Looking for something similar in Chicago.
Hello! Looking to purchase tickets for my partner but wanted to know what the ticket actually includes? TIA!
This is what I found: A ticket to the Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beer (FoBAB) includes: Entry to the venue 20 sample pours A commemorative FoBAB glass Access to the Lager Lounge, which provides a break from the higher ABV samples Access to the Super-Zero Lounge, which is hosted by Revolution Brewing and showcases their new Super-Zero Sparkling Hop Water Award-winning bourbon samples from Bardstown Bourbon Co
Seems to be the first year since COVID that binnys isn't doing lottery and are saying "first come first served." Anyone planning on lining up like the old days or has goose Island just over produced everything where it doesn't matter? To be honest I was that guy lining up at 2/3am and enjoyed the bottle shares and hanging out. Last year I went to binnys and they still had the whole allotment available 3+ hours after open. Anyone planning to camp out or just figure it'll all be available anyways?
Me and some friends are doing a bar crawl up Milwaukee Ave starting in the loop up to Fullerton Thanksgiving weekend. What are your favorite bars in Milwaukee? I know Richard’s but are there any other must stops?
We got our allotment from Rare day and our bottle of Prop had the cap ever so slightly open so some beer leaked out. Anyone else have this problem?
That's it, that's the post.
But seriously from the vibe, to the simple things — how their beers are described, 20/12/5 oz serving options. I'm in love.
