Was looking for Yule Shoot Your Eye Out at HEB and didn’t see it. Went looking online at Specs, Total Wine, and Twin Liquors - also out of stock! Anybody know?
I haven’t seen this in the grocery stores this year nor Costco where I picked up a case last year…. It’s probably my favorite seasonal brew.
Where can I go in Houston to drink some European beers that isn’t flying saucer? I’m all for the local craft scene, but occasionally I like some of the old tried and true stuff. Any suggestions?
My parents live less than two miles from Fortress Brewing so we were excited a few years back to see something opening close by for when we are visiting from Austin. Unfortunately, the beer and atmosphere were never really our thing...Has anyone been since 11 Below took over? I admittedly have never had an 11 Below beer that I can recall but their lineup of lagers and clear pales/hoppy are up my alley. We occasionally make it into town for Equal Parts/Saint Arnold/True Anomaly or others if time allows, but I am hopeful for something in addition to Thistle for a nearby beer or two when in Spring.
Is Frost Town brewing in trouble or up for sale? Ownership now seems to be a real estate company.
are there any breweries in Houston that do a brew-your-own beer experience? hoping to set this up as a Christmas gift for my father in law. Thanks!
Any spots in town for a cask pour?
What happened to DQ's Instagram (thebeerstore)?
Hello, I am apart of an online amateur league for a video game called "League of Legends". The league is called , "Beer League", so I think it'd be really cool to get a beer company to sponsor an upcoming tournament. I'm currently working on creating a 1-Day tournament between the existing teams for a prize pool of $500. Does anyone know of any small beer companies that might be interested in being our sponsor?
Players are all across the US, but we have a heavy concentration in Texas (Houston, Dallas, Austin) and Minnesota.
I know he had jumped over to Klaus brewing and managed to put out a hazy ipa there that was really well received. I am actually way up in the mid-atlantic/north east but lucked into a family member being able to get me a couple of crowlers from him as Whole Foods Brewing and one that was a collab with Musical Box Brewing in the same trip.
The beers were outstanding. I am not too far from Troon and honestly they were a couple of crowlers that I put up in that same level. I drink other styles as well, not strictly a hazy drinker, but they tend to be my go to choice.
So today I had discovered a new brewery to me and saw that Musical Box followed them on instagram. That got me to thinking about Whole Foods Brewing and that I hadn't seen an instagram post or anything in a while.
Does anyone in this subreddit know where Chris ended up brewing? I don't see any new projects from him, Whole Foods or Musical Box either on their respective instagram pages, but would definitely be interested in following whatever brewery he ended up at after the closure of Klaus.
What compares to city orchards' honey lavender "lavender royale"?
I picked up the latest 12 ounce bourbon barrel Pumpkinator (orange label) and the 12 ounce "bourbon barrel, cocoa, vanilla, coffee Pumpkinator" (black label) See one photo here.
The cocoa/vanilla/coffee (black label) was too intense for my liking. My conclusion is that the coffee lends too much bitterness to the final mix, and that really dominates vanilla and any flavors from the barrel aging. The cocoa is there, but the coffee bitterness is too much for my liking, and I love great coffee but this isn't the place for it.
The orange label one, with only barrel aging, was my choice over the black label. I don't know how long it's barrel aged, but the aging mellows the greenness of the regular Pumpkinator (in the 22 ounce bottles). This 12 ounce orange label version offers all of the goodness of Pumpkinator but the intense sweetness mellowed a bit. I did not detect any woody or oak flavor, and it's still a sweet beer but the barrel aging does it well presumably because this third stage barrel fermentation works out more of the sugar and gives the whole beer time to mellow a bit.
I don't usually spend $8 on a bottle of beer but I've been a Saint Arnold fan since they opened in 1994 and will sometimes buy their products.
What with the recent 2024 Pumpkinator release, I figured it would be a good time to crack open a 2022 bomber. My humble opinion is that it prolly needs another year. Spices haven't mellowed enough for my tastes.
Besides DQ, is there any other store or grocery store carrying The Veil? Any HEB carrying them?
