I’m thinking about checking out a local swingers club, but I noticed it’s near some container homes. I want to be respectful of the neighbors and avoid any issues.

For those who’ve attended clubs in similar areas, are there any common concerns from nearby residents? Do people worry about noise, parking, or just the general idea of the club? I’d love to hear any advice on how to be a considerate guest while still having a good time.

My partner and I are coming to Brisbane at the end of February for a concert, from Perth.

I don't have any friends over there to ask so I'm reaching out!

1. I've had people recommend hiring a car for more mobility and accessibility of areas nearby. Yay or nay?

2. Accommodation, we're thinking serviced apartment in the CBD. Seeing mixed reviews for a lot of them? Any other suggestions or other locations we should consider?

3. Public transport seems pretty good in terms of trains for getting around plus being able to use banks cards (wow!). We'll need to get to the Entertainment Centre from the CBD so we look pretty set. Is getting an Uber an option or is that just going to be a waste of time and money?

4. We're coming from Perth, it's bloody hot here at the moment, but we're expecting hot and muggy (gross) for Brisbane when we come. Will it limit what we can do during the day? I've seen most people plan activity around the hottest parts of the day.

Is there anything else we haven't thought about? Is there actually restaurants and places open for breakfast in the city on the weekend? Perth CBD is a bit sleepy on weekend mornings.

I’m looking for some feedback from anyone who has dealt with the Queensland Health Ombudsman. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with the process.

• How smooth was the process for you?
• How long did it take to get a resolution or response?
• Any tips for handling the situation or things to be aware of?

I submitted a complaint 2.5 weeks ago and I have not received a response yet, even though they are expected to contact within 7 business days. 

Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi all! Does anyone have any fun little date ideas besides the fun but basic bowling, movies, etc? We have done fun things like axe throwing, and make your own gin/ and Turkish lamp. My partner and I are around early thirties, into kinda nerdy things, but both on diets at the moment so the restaurant dates are out too!

Hey guys - I've recently moved up from Melbourne. I’ve got the opportunity to buy land off a relative near where I'm renting in Loganholme. My idea is to set up a container home until I can afford to build a proper house. 

My main concern is that there’s a place at the back which hosts paid swinger events. I've heard of swingers before but honestly didn’t know they could operate as a business like this.

I was brought up in a strict Christian household but have no problem with swingers. Wondering if this is likely to affect values of properties in the immediate area? Any experiences welcome.

Why is the font so small and the sign is massive?

Hey everyone! I have a couple of handmade kids blankets that I wanted to donate to a children’s hospital, but because they’re made from acrylic yarn and star-shaped I can’t find anywhere that accepts them. I was thinking that maybe a family shelter would be a good alternative option, but I haven’t been able to find any information online.

Any ideas or suggestions about where to donate them would be greatly appreciated! Please keep in mind that I’m based on the CBD area and don’t have access to a car.

as the title says, are there any places in brisbane i can go to speak french ? i dont mean language schools or anything, just like shops or whatever that have french speaking staff. i’ve embarrassed myself many times by conflating a simple « bonjour » with fluency and am met with blank stares when i speak french ptdr. i knoz c’est du gateau in south bank is run by french speaking brothers and in the early days they used to do foh stuff but not so much anymore. does anyone know of any places of this sort ?

This weekend/today Chinese new year festival is being celebrated in fortitude valley and I’m going to go check it out! My partner is working in the valley so I was going to have a look around. I would love some recommendations on places/food/shops that will be open tonight!

Last time I cleared out an aquarium, there were online forums like QLD Aquarium Forum where you used to go to sell or swap fish locally. It looks like it’s been gone a couple of years, and I find myself in the position of needing to shut down a tank and rehome fish and no idea where to go. Facebook seems to have rules against it? Does anyone have connections on where to find folks who might be interested in housing some cherry barbs and chequered barbs?
