Anyone successfully fought Airbnb for a refund via a DMIRS complaint?

Any advice? We are considering filing a complaint as Airbnb refused a full refund. For a vile disgusting scam of a stay basically without getting into the details.

We have 60+ images of evidence and all comms

The price of fashion is 100 IQ points

So I was strolling along Beaufort St in Mount Lawley this arvo. I saw two guys wearing puffer vests. Fucking puffer vests. In Peeth. In this weather.

Looking for more creative jobs in Perth

Just looking for something more task based and creative while I’m studying. I’m sick of customer service as most people are incredibly annoying or rude haha (if you’ve ever worked retail you’d know).

I know it’s hard to find work at the moment and I’m not in desperate need, but just looking for ideas. Could be something with a radio station or something with social media, etc, etc. Just something that I’d be a bit more happy giving up time for.

Any suggestions are much appreciated even if they need qualifications or not.

Renter or landlord responsibility?

I need some advice. Last month i told my real estate agent that one of the window panes had slipped out of the frame because the frame was loose. It was pretty annoying cause it meant we couldn't close the window. They said the landlord didn't want to get anyone in to fix it. There are a few other small issues around the house like loose door knobs which we've told them we were happy to fix and they agreed. I didn't specifically ask abut fixing the window but today I thought I'd just try and screw it back in.

It was an easy fix but something I didn't realise was one of the screws of the frame had been installed poorly and was cutting into the glass. There was a crack i couldnt see under the rubber. Anyway as I was unscrewing it the crack got a little larger. Its noticeable now. I just stopped and put the window back the way it was.

Obviously now the whole pane needs replacing. Is this my responsibility or the landlord's? I didn't create the crack but me trying to fix it did make it bigger so I'm not sure.

City of South Perth's initiatives

I've recently moved into City of South Perth and was wondering if they have ever released info about introducing FOGO bins? If not, does anyone know how to start an online petition so we can get that rolling? I mean, I used to be under the City of Melville and feel like its an absolute no brainer.. the fact that you can buy cheap compost etc with a FOGO facility in your area.. why wouldn't some city councils get onto that? Plus, achieving net zero targets that are important.. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y'all!

Time frames for demo of condemned s$*+hole houses?

Hey there

The house next to us (suburbia) is an asbestos building, been vacant for years after the overseas slumlord who owns it got a condemned notice.

I know he's a slumlord because he refused to do any maintenance or repairs, cut any of the overgrown tree branches or even mow the overgrown dead grass.

The last tenant was very sweet guy, but a prolific hoarder. Every square inch is full of junk.

Owner took forever to list the place and it was on sale forever, from the listing he was chasing the biggest payout he could get.

It sold around 6 months ago but so far it's remained as is. I contacted council to get the grass mowed as it was a fire hazard but that's all that's been done.

Is there a time limit where the house has to be demolished / fixed / hoarded stuff disposed, or can the new owners sit on it forever in that state.

If so, who regulates this?

It's not secured so anyone can walk in. Asked the real estate who sold it if she knew what the plan was, but she had no idea.

Whats the process for getting treatment/medication for mental disorders in WA?

Hiho,
So I'm pretty sure I have ADHD and semi-severe anxiety and want to know how I would go about getting treated and/or medicated for it.

It gets in the way of my professional and personal life and just wanted to know what the road ahead looks like.

Any info about who I see, what it costs and how long does it take to become stable and what might be in-store for me would be appreciated.

Good/ethical NDIS companies?

Hi all.

I'm a disability carer but I've only done it for 1.5 years and I got the job through a job agency.

I work for a small company. It's been a good start, but my employer feels dodgy and doesn't allow part time or full time positions which I really don't like.

What are some companies I could look at applying for that have part time/full time positions and are hopefully ethical and don't abuse the system.

I'm not incredibly skilled but I'm willing to learn and I have the heart for the job.

Existential crisis in Perth

Going through an existential crisis

I’m 31m. Recently moved back in with my parents because my marriage deteriorated and my housing situation changed.

Struggling to overcome this feeling of despondency. I am many years away from being able to afford a home I can realistic afford to live in.

I have a job I somewhat enjoy apart from a few people that make it almost unbearable. I’m aware that’s the case in lots of places, I don’t consider my situation unique.

My anxiety is dominating my life. I exercise regularly, sleep well and eat clean. These practices don’t seem to alleviate my anxiety.

I’m finding it hard to think of something to hold on for. Living is expensive, and I cannot recall a time I have felt happy. I’m trying to see life as something more than just pain and piss.

Talking to people doesn’t seem to help. What friends I have, have surpassed me in almost every way to the point where I feel like a sympathetic tag along.

I’m unsure how to proceed, I don’t enjoy being an adult male living with his parents, in a perpetual state of worry and depression. I know I need to make change but every time I try I get stifled.

Seeking Recommendations for Some to Rebuild a 2016 Hyundai iLoad Engine in Perth.

Lube Mobile says we need a new engine, recommended West Engines - called, texted and emailed, no reply yet. Contacted a few others that came up on Google but they're all booked up for the rest of the year or not interested as they don't have the stock.

Can anyone recommend someone? We haven't even gotten a quote yet so we don't know if it's worth salvaging or if we should just sell it as is to someone who knows how to fix it. We don't mind waiting a few weeks or months as we have a shitty backup car but would prefer it fixed within, say, 3 months. Cos honestly the shitty backup might not last much longer 😅. One car was meant to die this year and it wasn't supposed to be the bloody iLoad. Thanks in advance!

Where would you put a Perth video portal (like Dublin-NYC) and where would it connect to?

I would put it on Lake Street in Northbridge and the otherside could be Landsowne Street in Boston.

This is the one in Dublin-NYC FYI: https://www.9news.com.au/national/inappropriate-behavior-shuts-down-dublin-to-new-york-city-portal/e082c15f-96aa-40f2-8760-1081048cdebd

Perth buses are always late ?

So I just arrived in Perth on Saturday and quickly realising that public transport seems to be a bit off. Mainly the fact that either the buses are always late or the timetables are completely false? There’ll be 1 out of 3 buses that actually passes what’s going on where should I be looking ?

FIFO for families - pros and cons please!

Hubby has been offered chance at a FIFO role - 8:6 - and we’re trying to weigh up pros and cons as a lot of the Facebook Groups….well, let’s just say, there are a lot of unhappy people there. I’m sure there must be other people out there doing it and it’s working well for them?

We have 2 young kids (1 pre school + 1 day care) and I currently work part-time and keen to keep my job going.

I’d really appreciate advice or opinions from people who have worked FIFO with young kids at home - is it worth it? What can we do to kelp the kids adapt? Any advice greatly appreciated

Wednesday Whinge time

My whinge is that something bothered me earlier this week, and I figured I'd save it for now, but I can't remember what it was.
So I guess that's decent stress relief; just tell yourself you'll think about it again in a few days, and then it might disappear.
(Disclaimer: that's terrible advice for important life stuff.)

(It may have been people indicating incorrectly on roundabouts, but I'm not sure.)

Four square, King, Tap, Handball… what did/do you call the schoolyard game with the four squares and ball?

I knew it as Four Square in primary school but when I went to high school it was called Handball. At my kids school it’s called Tap.

What did you call it?

Bonus points for naming the positions. I always remember it as being King, Queen, Jack and Dunce. My kids said the last one is something different now but I can’t remember what they called it.

Ending my tenancy, when is my last rental payment

OK so I've been trying to google this information but having no luck, keeps bringing up rent in advance stuff.

I'm in a private rental arrangement and I've given my notice, I've organised to move out on Saturday the 18th in the morning.

My rent payments go from Thursday to Wednesday paid in fortnightly instalments and this Thursday would have been the next rotation of payment.

Im wondering do I pay Thursday and Friday or Thursday, Friday and Saturday?

I think its only Thurs and Friday as I am leaving Saturday but I can't find any clear information on this.

Can anyone advise and where I can find it in writing what my requirements are.

Thank you
