Hey guys, does anyone know any potential internships for a first year actuarial studies student. Preferably paid but if not is all good. Just trying to get some experience in the field.
Just realised the calculator (TI-Nspire Non CAS Colour Graphing Calculator) that I used in HS doesn't meet exam requirements at UNSW. So does anyone know what a good brand and model to choose would be?? I'll be doing Mechanical Engineering
Hi, wanted to know what activities are usually done during oweek for colleges. I’m coming with parents and have to shift a lot of stuff into my room as well as tour the uni itself, are the college activities something that go on the entire day? Or are they just an hour or two. Are there also any drinking or party activities or is it more of just socializing and ice breakers? Thanks.
Hi, I'm going into my first year of uni and I recently got an email from one of my professors saying I haven't enrolled into a field or tutorial class even tho on myUNSW it says I have, and that even tho I've enrolled in one of the lectures there wasn't any more places available for me. Is this an issue anyone can help me with? Thank you!
I recently received my results for a supplementary exam. I didn't fail or anything but got shockingly lower than what i expected given my pre-exam mark and how well i performed in the final exam. For reference this is COMP2521, so for 60/100 marks of the final mark im almost certain i got close to fullmarks because i passed all autotesting. I was only unsure about 5 marks in the exam. When i saw my mark it seemed wrong because i would have had to lose many more marks than seemed possible, for me to get the mark i did. Naturally i wanted to appeal this so i emailed the comp2521 course admins to discuss my mark with them and see my actual grade for the final exam and what my marks were for each questions because you need to discuss with course admins before submitting an appeal. I explained to them my pre-exam mark and my performance in the final exam and that it seemed extremely unlikely that i performed as bad as i did in the final exam to get my final grade. It has been 5 days and they still have not got back to me. This feels extremely unfair because you can only submit an appeal within 5 days of receiving your mark. But you cant submit an appeal until you discuss with your course admins. How can i even discuss it with them if they dont reply to me and i have no access to my final exam to even see where i went wrong in the first place. tried contacting nucleus but they are closed and have no idea what to do but this feels like i've just been scammed by the course admins who were just too lazy to go through the process of discussing my final exam with me. What should i do

Hi unsw community, I'm seeking help and any advise anyone has on my situation. I currently can't enrol in a arch1080class because I have timetable clash. I've emailed both courses and both have rejected a timetable clash request.im currently in semester 1 of 2025, it's my last semester and I'm waiting on student nucleas to help me. I've loooked into cross institutional study and found the equivalent of steel structures at UTS. However they're application for session 1 is closed. I'm currently employed full time and cannot take time off or delay my studies. Is there anything I can do? Please help!!!
I'm starting a double degree and really confused as to when I need to get my Commerce IFY courses done by. Is it correct that when doing a double degree, they can't be completed in the first year, and therefore myBcom COMM1999 also cannot be completed at the end of the first year? Thanks so much
Anybody here working in this role part-time? Is it doable despite trimesters? I’d like to hear your thoughts about it.
Hey there, I’m an international student and looking for a flatmate(s) If you're also looking for a place, or know someone who needs a place to stay, please let me know :) Thanks!
Does UNSW give a discount for paying your tuition fees early?
Lease Transfer: Scape Sydney Central
Hey guys, I'm moving out of Scape Sydney Central in the first week of Feb. My contract is till 07/07/2025. I've got a MALE ONLY TWIN SHARE at $459 per week and if you try and book the same room just for sem 1 2025 it's about $519 on their website. I'd reccomend the property for international students just moving to Sydney for the first time, it's a good place to get your footing, i.e. walking distance to UTS and Usyd and a bunch of restaurants and malls and well located. If someone can pick up the remaining part of my lease so hmu for more details if ur interested!!!
Hi there,
I currently have two free courses (12 general education units) left, and I plan to use them to raise my WAM to an 80 to qualify for the IPT. I haven't enrolled yet for term 1, but now, more than ever, I require help from students who have done/know WAM booster courses to raise my WAM up 5 more %. will be actively lurking the comments and asking questions about the courses to help me get there. any help is appreciated
I was a temporary visa holder but have now gained permanent residency status and am trying to apply for csp. The instructions to apply for CSP tuition seems vague on the UNSW website but from what I can see I have to discontinue my program and then apply for the same one on UAC. This doesn't sound right so I'd like to ask how the process actually goes and who I can contact to get this sorted out? (nucleus hasn't responded to my query for a week now and I only have 2 weeks to get CSP sorted out before the census date)
?!?
Got an offer for Masters in International Business(June intake) but it seems like it's a very broad degree.
Is the job/part-time job market as bad as it seems to be portrayed? Or do majority of the people manage to find something and just not post about it on reddit or is it actually rare to get your work visa sponsored and end up going back with debt/negative returns?
Also has the housing crisis improved?
Any insights or personal stories are helpful :)
I’m a new student and I can’t see my moodle courses.
Is this normal?
No one cares…
You have bad hair no one cares You are 5 minutes late no one cares You ask a question and raise your hand and people look at you… wait a minute no one cares You are asked to introduce yourself to the people around you and you start to get flushed and nervous and can’t think of what to say no one cares and if in doubt talk about the weather or some shit You whip out your laptop and it is out of charge or you realise you are in the wrong room no one cares
If you don’t get it by now.. NO ONE CARES this isn’t high school people, people have genuine shit going on and couldn’t give a rats ass about some rando falling over or being in the wrong class. The MOST people will ever say or think is “mood” or “I wish I wasn’t here” not “omg Becky just dropped her notebook oMg tehehehehehehe I’m gonna Snapchat this”
And plus you might talk to one person in the class the whole semester and then poof it’s all gone, trust me next year you’ll be seeing these messages flow through on reddit and reminisce about how dumb you were by getting all nervous over your first day
Hey,
Current second-year student studying double in Economics and Science. Does anyone know whether taking MATH1031 for my science degree will also grant me credit for my economics degree?
The UNSW handbook lists ECON1202 as an exclusion course for MATH1031 but MATH1031 is not listed as an exclusion course for ECON1202, so would appreciate some clarification. Thanks.
any suggestions? kinda desperate
Doing a minor in psychology, I've received an info pack on major related o-week stuff — but should I be attending anything for the minor?
I’ve been looking all over and can’t seem to find it. Anyone who’s lived here knows where it is?
