The last three Uber drivers I've had going from my place to the airport have been cooked. All of them have taken way longer routes to the airport than the GPS was telling them, and all of them also "forgot" to end the trip at the airport, marking it done at Salt Ash or Kooragang instead. One dude didn't wear a seatbelt for a decent period of time (or shoes at all but hey, it's Newy 🤙) and other was texting while driving over the Stockton Bridge.

I don't seem to have these kind of loose units when I have shorter fares around town. Am I unlucky or is this a thing? I reported the over charging to Uber and got refunded pretty quickly which at least is an improvement on the old cabbie days.

I can feel the vibrations in my body like I’m at a concert, but without the benefit of hearing actual music. Instead it’s a chorus of these bug shaped screeching drums. I can’t go outside without ear plugs. The house barely muffles the sound. I look outside and each tree has hundreds of cicadas on them. I am surrounded.

Edit: I don’t hate cicadas, just never experienced them like this before.
