Hi, I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Business at UTS but I’ve realized I’m no longer interested in business. I’d like to transfer into the Bachelor of Law & Psychology at Mq.
I originally got in back in hs it was through the leaders and achievers scheme it wasn’t based on marks but i never accepted the offer and my hsc mark wasnt good.
It’s been a year i don’t have that original offer anymore.
I get good marks overall, but I struggle with exams, so I usually end up with a pass. I wanted to know what my chances are of getting into the double degree at MQ. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!!
.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to reopen a request in service connect? I have been trying because I think it’s possible - just cannot figure it out!
Hello everyone! As the title repeats, I found a way to find out your WAM, while this may not be 100% it does show a calculation.
This is completely unofficial and I am 100% unsure whether this is your finalised WAM or not. I just stumbled upon this just now, so please do as you will. Otherwise, best wishes and hope you guys got the grades you want and congrats to everyone for completing this year! Woohoo! If you're keen to see your results, do as you must. I am quite proud of my results, did an amazing jump and I hope you guys are too. All the best wishes everyone. If you're not excited, maybe just wait haha!
What are some HD guaranteed units people have taken in session 3? I really need to boost my WAM and I'm aware of AFIN2000 and PHIL1037 but I'm curious to know some other units. Thank you
Hey guys. Anyone here coming in Feb for the intake? Could be great to connect with new comers and all well in advance.
Hey guys. I’ve been accepted into the masters of management course and am so stoked. Just wanted to know what is the course like, and how good is it? Also if anyone wants to connect for the Feb 2025 intake, HMU would be great to get in touch before reaching MQ
Hello everyone! I just finished first year of university. I wanted to know what internships or volunteering opportunities I can go into during these holidays. I’m quite bored and might as well broaden my experiences. I understand i’m only a first year, but I feel quite unproductive compared to my peers. How should I go into looking for these opportunities? If anyone could help me that would be great. Otherwise, have a great holiday everyone. ❤️
I’m going to join MQ in February 2025 and am currently exploring accommodation options. I was originally considering a room at Student Village North Ryde, but some of the reviews I’ve come across on Google are making me second-guess it.
Has anyone here stayed there or at Dayman? How was your experience? Would you recommend it? Also, if you have any suggestions for other good places nearby, I’m all ears!
Thanks in advance for your help!
i got into law/psych through the srs scheme last month but i got a call today to remind me of my offer and the new email sent today about the call said i got into psychology honours/law. i checked my macquarie student account to see the offer i accepted and it said normal psych/law and not honours so which one did i get into?

Welcome to the 'Macquarie University Meetups & Societies Weekly Advertising Post' (or the M.U.M.S.W.A.P for short)
___
Here students and societies alike can arrange or outline their intended events, gatherings and meetups for the week to come!
We politely ask that any societies (or people on behalf of societies) limit themselves to one advertising comment per week as to not bury posts by individuals (editing existing comments are allowed). And that individuals advertising their own event (be them just meeting up on campus or something more elaborate), make sure to keep their suggested meetups appropriate and vaguely in-keeping with Uni guidelines (IE: no organising drug deals which I have already had to previously remove).
I hope people and societies alike are able to make the most of these posts, and I wish you all luck in meeting your fellow students!
{Note: This is purely an advertising post, r/MacUni and its modteam cannot assure the validity or outcome of any posts/comments made on our subreddit, it is up to the individual to use their best judgement to discern the expectations of any advertised events/encounters.}
Hi guys I’m coming for the Feb intake 2025 with bachelor of commerce (majoring in finance) and I have a scholarship of $10000. I want to change my course to bachelors of applied finance, but will I end up loosing my scholarship? And do I need to apply for a visa again with a new COE if I do change my course?
I'm trying to enrol into flexis but I wanna see the price of the unit before I do because I can't afford it if it is too expensive
This will probably be fixed if any Uni staff sees this but this is not an official way to check your grades.
So there might be a way where you can check for your grades before the results are released given that your grades has been entered into the system.
Log into Mq connect > course guidance tool > at "select your topic" choose "Req to complete my course".
Course guidance tool Link: https://students.mq.edu.au/support/study/course-guidance
Just click on the course guidance tool hyperlink
This will somehow show the units you have completed AND the units that you just had taken the exams for and waiting for result publication.
Once again, if you don't want to disappoint yourself like myself did you can just wait for results publication day. Otherwise, you can try it at your discretion. AND it is not an official way to know your results before publication, I'm emphasising this.
Wish you all complete the units with flying colours.
Update: You guys may see different outcomes doing this and I don't know why that happens. It's just something accidentally found out and I don't have an answer to them sorry guys.
Update 2nd Dec: Someone has informed It has been taken down :( it's been expected anyways. Happy graduation for those whose graduating and enjoy the upcoming holidays!
Update 3rd Dec: Just checked again, tool is up and running again but it doesn't show the unit grade that you've just take the exam for. Uni staff has fixed it :(
Is it worth it? Are there volunteering opportunities in research? And is it a lot better than Griffith U?
as the title states, also dont we have to submit like our bachelors degree through uac for post grad?
So I have been waiting for my study abroad decision to Mac for over a month now and the wait has been exhausting, do any of you have any idea as to the approximate time taken by the management to release decisions?
Their web portal does say it takes 3 weeks since you initially submit the application, but now it's been over 4 weeks, so I don't know how much more time will we have to wait. plus the program begins in February, so we also need the time for visas, booking accommodations and stuff.
Does anyone know if you can put the student services fee on to your hecs debt as a domestic student?? If so, how? Can’t see where to defer the fee
Hey guys im trying to decided on an undergrad degree for med ik many people dislike med sci as an undergrad degree for med but I feel like it makes the most sense with overlapping content for the gamsat I was looking at maybe doing nursing but I feel like the content like physics and chemistry dont overlap as much with content in the gamsat. Im not too sure where to go from here because ik there isn't many work opportunities for med sci after grad id say if I dont get directly into med id pursue an honours year but am just scared that in the end if medicine doesn't work out that I will be left with limited work opportunities. Does anyone have any advice on what undergrad degree would best suit a future in postgrad med?
Any thoughts on whether just law is hard to maintain and would recommend a double with eg, arts?? (especially if i don't want a double in comm, or business).
