Hey Queensland, I'm a local soapmaker and I would like to ask you all what you think about using Bar Soap? Do you like it, hate it or indifferent? Comment below and be as honest as you like!
I need to get a safety certificate to register my car into QLD. My car is slightly older (2008) but everything works well. My only issue is the abs light comes on intermittently (this is apparently a very common issue for my model). I’ve had multiple mechanics tell me that that the only way to stop the abs light from coming on is the replace the whole abs module which will be very expensive. They have told me that the abs works fine 99% of the time. The light comes on when I start the car and stays on for about a minute. They have told me that this will cause the car to fail a roadworthy inspection. Feeling a bit hopeless as I don’t have upwards of $1000 to fix the issue . Car is a 2008 Mitsubishi lancer, fault code is C2116.
Any help is appreciated Thanks
Hi! Visiting from Canada and planning a road trip from Brisbane to Bundaberg, and looking for ideas/recommendations for stops along the way. We plan to be on the road by 5am and don’t have to check in to accommodations at Bundaberg until around 1pm. Any unique recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Saw this dude at Sandgate. Anyone have an idea what it is?
According to the pay rate on the following web page, the "ordinary casual hourly rate" to be an Auxiliary Firefighter are:
Classification | Ordinary casual hourly rate |
---|---|
Auxiliary Firefighter Grade 1 | $25.45 |
Auxiliary Firefighter Grade 2 | $26.84 |
Lieutenant | $28.89 |
Captain | $31.00 |
I understand that the main allure shouldn't be the pay, especially as it is only on a "casual" basis. However, the pay rate for an Auxiliary Firefighter Grade 1 is almost $10/hr lower than my casual retail position. I would love to help out but as we all know, day-by-day it's getting more and more difficult due to rising cost of living. I, like most other young kids I'm sure, dreamt of helping out/being a firefighter, but I personally don't reckon I am cut out to do it as a career due to the intense demands it requires. Hats off to all of our firies, they do a spectacular job and deserve everything and so much more. As such, I work an office job full-time, and do casual work on the side for additional income.
If the casual hourly rate for an Aux firefighter was similar to the rate I am getting at my second job, I'd strongly consider jumping at the opportunity, but the reality is, that's simply not the case.
Do youse reckon this award and others offering pay rates like it should be revised to entice more people to apply? I am aware there's the SES, and volunteering your time is an incredible way to give back to the community. But volunteering time is something not a lot of people can afford to do anymore, which is why I'm posing this question.
Hi! I am currently living in Canada (Canadian and British citizenship) and have been toying with the idea of moving to Aus (Brisbane maybe?) on a 1 year work VISA. I am a soon to be BSW graduate, however I don’t believe I meet the qualifications to be a registered social worker with the AASW.
I’m a young woman in my mid twenties and am very open to working in entry level social service positions to gain a bit of experience in a new place (that’s warm and sunny :-)). I worry about how realistic it will be for me to find work, and would love some insight.
I have tons of serving experience and have been a barista since I was 15 but I am really hoping to enter the SW field while I’m eager and fresh out of school.
I have tried reaching out to universities to get some clarification about the AASW and how to practice as a social worker, but it hasn’t been super helpful.
I would love to connect with social workers in the area to discuss my options!
Has anyone had any experience with this? Last year my rent went up a fair bit, but I'm grateful it was less than "unsustainable". Are we all doomed and have to accept these? Or this a qCAT thing to raise? Or simply keep negotiating with the landlord? Thanks in advance.
hey,
I called the QLD DoT up and explained I needed to remove my (abusive) ex from the vehicle ergo as I now live in WA. However, I really really don't want to reach out to her. The lady on the phone sent an email through and said there is a way to do it without getting in contact with her but all contents of the email, requires her signature of sort?! anyone know the way round this??
cheers
Almost every year, we have these terrible bush fires costing billions of dollars, and yet, a lot of the time its for lack of ample water supply, with both humans and wild life dying as well. Therefore, why not build another water pipe line where water is badly needed in times of these fires separate from the main supply. Untreated water being pumped from rivers; lakes and so on, with many stop valves along the way, where fire engines can fill up from.Yes! it would cost millions to build hundred of kilometers to lay extra water piped lines but what price do one put on lost of life and properties?
Heading to Brisbane with my partner in a few weeks and just want to know which theme park/major attraction is the best value for money these days. We’re both 30 years old and haven’t been since we were kids so would just like some advice about where we can have the most fun!
Hi guys. So I have a few questions so I have completed a bridging course. And wanted to get into the doctor of medicine. I’ve been preparing for the gamsat and ucat for a while now. I don’t know much about the process or what to do exactly. Also I have heard something about getting into a science bachelor course first then getting into the doctor of medicine. I don’t want to do that and I feel like I’m running out of time I’m 26 years old. Is there a way I can just use my ATAR score from bridging course sit both gamsat and Ucat and get interviews that way for doctor of medicine. Since high school leavers do that anyways. What are my chances of this succeeding. Please help guys. I highly appreciate any advice.
I'm headed out to Longreach with my parents in early March (fly out, spirit of the outback back) and we've got two nights out there. Given that the tourist season doesn't start until the end of March/ April, are there any suggestions for things to do? There will be 4 of us total, the parents are in their early 60s, we will have a hire car, they are British so will probably find the heat a bit of a shock, but this was the only time they could come over. Thanks in advance!
Hello, I'm thinking about proceeding to either of these pathways but I'd like to speak to people who actually do it here in Queensland.
I'm interested if there's any good companies that treat their people nice or if it's all just The Harvey Norman kind.
The certs are not cheap, is it worth working for a company where one doesn't have to FIFO to mines ?
Any experience you share with me will be appreciated. Thank you
