The Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia.
Better beaches than Brisbane and less fights than the Gold Coast.

Well it's official, sunshine coast FC will be playing in the new second tier devision. Its a start right. What are people's views, I know it's not top tier but in the future we will have the chance. I will definitely try to go to some of the games.
Looking for a local active community on the sunny coast. Hoping for IRL munches and an active online group. Collared couple. DMs are welcome with relevant information. Thanks.
Our landlord, through the real estate company, has given notice that we need to vacate at the end of our lease in mid-January. We've asked if it’s possible to move out earlier.
We’re a responsible family—husband, wife, and two adult kids—looking for a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a media room. If you’re a private landlord looking for great tenants, please send me a message. I’m really fed up with the way real estate companies treat renters.
Hi all wanting advice on living in Yandina or Bli Bli? We love being by the beach but reality of buying means we need to look a little further inland.
How’s everyone faring?
Heaps of sirens around Glasshouse right now. Anything happening?
Howdy folks, looking for some travel advice. I’m planning to travel to Australia, heading out May 15th 2025. I’m from rural Colorado USA and am looking for the best, quaint beach to check out. I’ve heard nice things about Noosa Heads and was wondering if any locals wanted to comment and share some tips. I read online that the Sunshine Coast would have warm weather in May which is why I chose this part of your beautiful country. Been a lifelong dream to visit AUS!!
I live in a tourist town and work in the tourist industry myself so I know what it’s like to give up your sweet spots, promise I won’t share any advice/post on social media. I’m just looking for a low key beach retreat :)
They send you an offer of employment; 22hours later they rescind their offer.
I applied for a role with them on Tuesday (last week), knowing it was Sunshine Coast. They interviewed me on Friday.
They said they had an office in Brisbane, said depending on the day I would be required to travel to Brisbane (“occasionally”).
Was offered the role on Monday.
I questioned, the above, and said would there be WFH options? Tuesday 8:30am receive a call, “we require you to be in Brisbane 3 days, 2 days Sunshine Coast. Is this something you would be okay with?” My response, “it’s something I have to consider, when do I need to notify you by?” Their response, “COB.”
30mins, I receive a call saying they would send me an email. Email saying they have rescinded the offer.
If they are going to treat a candidate like this, I would hate to see how they are like as a company. Red flags.
So, my girlfriend (21) and I (20) need to find a place to rent by May.
We live with my non-biological mum where we rent a house for $650 a week (my mum pays the bulk of it). My girlfriend stays at her mum's house the next town over about 2 days out of the week.
My brother and I, my biological mum and her partner moved up to the sunny coast from Tasmania about 8 years ago. My biological mum passed away 2 years ago and since then my non-biological mum (bio mum'sex partner) moved up here to the sunny coast to support my brother and I.
Our current lease ends and the rent goes up again in May. My non-bio mum needs to move back to Tasmania because she has a house just sitting down there, and she can't afford to continue paying the rent up here on the Sunshine Coast (she's 70, ready to retire and sick of working everyday).
I have two options:
Move to Tassie Stay on the Sunshine Coast and rent a house with my girlfriend It sounds simple but both come with some sacrifice.
Moving to Tassie would mean taking my gf away from her family, her aging dog, and her job. We'd have to say goodbye to our friends and... our lives.
Staying on the sunny coast would mean us, our two cats and large dog have to find a pet-friendly, fenced in yard in the area to rent. My gf has a job right now but I do not (not for lack of trying). Money is the biggest obstacle. The housing crisis is no joke. I do have rental history due to the current place I'm living at but I don't have a permanent job so it could be hard getting applications accepted even if we do find a way to afford a place.
My non-bio mum suggested us moving to Tassie only for as long as it takes to save up and move back up to the sunny coast when we can. This is a good idea in theory but still requires a lot of sacrifices.
We really want to stay here on the sunny coast but the money situation is looking dire. There's not a lot of rentals in our budget around.
I've got a lot of stuff left over from my mum that I haven't gotten rid of yet + furniture from my old house. Just a lot of belongings I don't know what to do with. She was going to organise it/sell the stuff but she passed away before she got anywhere with it.
Also yes my brother is still around, he lives with his gf down the road and basically doesn't need to worry about this whole situation.
We really need some unbiased advice.
I want to go camping, but the laws around it are a pain in the ass in Australia. Is there anywhere I can go camping around here without being packed into one of those designated camp sites?
I don't want a repeat of last time with some asshole 20 meters from me playing music until 2am.
I know this is probably asking for the impossible, but is there somewhere I can go (don't mind hiking there with my equipment) where I can get some quiet nature away from people and traffic? And more importantly, it be legal?

Sharing purely as I'm hoping to expand the little YT community into the local area 🫶
I have been told our Landlord is moving back and we have to vacate at end of our lease.
I have a well-paid job in IT. I am looking for a 3—preferably 4 bedroom place with a 2 car garage and 2 bathrooms somewhere on the Sunshine Coast.
We are good at the moment long term tenants. Long story.
Any private landlords looking for reliable tentents with no issues (ever) let me know.
Move in Mid or around Jan 2025.

43yo Nambour based dad and husband, looking to make new friends and social connections outside of work. Slightly awkward and introverted, but relaxed and easy going once I get to know people.
These political messages and phone calls should be illegal. I've have gotten 3 text messages and a phone call today.
Anyone have any experience with the housing in prosperity drive? It’s obviously high density, but with the rental situation the way it is, beggars can’t be choosers.
Any massive reason not to?
