FIT2004 and FIT2014 in the same semester?

Has anyone taken FIT2004 and FIT2014 in the same semester? What is the workload like? Is it doable if I only take 3 units in total that semester?

What happens if I fail a unit in my final semester?

This is an embarrassing post to write but What happens if I fail a unit in my final semester? Is it possible for me to late enrol into a summer semester to complete an extra unit? I have a job lined up at one of the big 4 to start in march, so if i fail this one im wondering if i can do a winter semester to make up for the failed credit points and receive the graduation "ticket" in time to start the job? I have already applied to graduate, but obviously if I fail I won't graduate. Since the enrolment date says august on the website for summer semesters, can I still enrol in a summer semester after seeeing the final assessment results on the 2nd dec? Please let me know! I feel like such an idiot

ATS3309 Producing and Consuming in Japan

Has anyone taken this study tour, if so how was it? It saying the estimated cost is something like 6.5k which is quite a lot, was curious if there were any grants available for this apart from the Asahi grant which is very exclusive.

Easy Commerce Electives

I have space for 2 level 2/3 commerce electives on my course map but since I'm doing a double degree I haven't had to choose many electives before. I'm looking to take 2 easy units for my final semester to boost my WAM. Any recommendations?

Hi, I was thinking of attending this lecture. But I want to know if we have to answer questions when asked? Not sure how much participation they want 😭

(I struggle with anxiety so sorry if this is a weird question)

Are double majors a thing in Monash? I've never heard about it, I only see double degrees. (I want to do Commerce and major in both Accounting and Finance.

I want to do both accounting and finance, so I thought I can do Bachelor of Commerce/Finance. But is it possible for me to do just a Bachelor of Commerce where I can double major in Accounting and Finance? And if so, is it still only 3 years?

Also what is the difference between major, extended major, and minor?

Not sure to pick electrical or mechatronics engineering

Can some someone doing one of these degrees give a rundown of how the degree is and what the job opportunities are like. I’m doing a double degree with computer science and I’m not sure which one to pick.

Joining Monash in Feb 2025

I am an international student and was wondering what medical insurance to choose. Heard the standard that was provided by the university is Allianz. But I heard from someone that Medicare or MediBank is better. Someone else suggested NIB. Kinda lost here. Need suggestions based on personal experience.

heyy, just wondering if anyone has ever had an interview for an MRS role? What questions did they ask, were they nice, etc. The interview is only 20mins too so I feel like they wouldn’t ask too many questions but yeah

ACF2100 and ACF2200 final exam

I have my ACF2100 and ACF2200 exams coming up on 11th and 12th november respectively. If anyone has already done the unit, can you tell how well did it go and what type of questions did they ask? was it more like tutorial questions based or somewhat anything else?

Academic Record

Does academic record matter when it comes to applying for jobs? I’ve failed a couple of units (only electives) and I have a habit of submitting things late which has affected my grades. Please do not pass judgement, I’ve had a series of health issues as well as working 30 hours a week to support myself. I’m studying a bachelor of Media Communications, majoring in Journalism.

I have a very ‘p’s get degrees’ attitude at the moment but I’m just wondering if employers are likely to look into my record?

Moodle

Hi, just wondering what kind of tracking can be done on Moodle. Can my UC see if and when I’ve downloaded a set of files attached to a submission dropbox description? Or any links I click on or hover on? Or how long I spend looking at something? And when I log in?!

Someone told me this recently and the knowledge of someone spying like that feels pretty invasive. It makes sense that they’d track engagement and check if students progressing through quizzes and tests, but downloading resources feels excessive - and that’s so much data too!

Anyway I can prevent tracking?

Application for Urban Community Accommodation being rejected

Hi, does anyone share the same experience of being rejected for MRS Accommodation (UC) during the first round of offers? Are they still doing subsequent rounds of offers or the email that received was being finalized? I was told that I had been put on a waitlist atm but what are the chances of getting into just for me to cope while struggling to prepare for ongoing exams back to back (this is so not good for my mental health). I applied for it on the same day just late as I was really busy at the time (2nd sept 12:50 pm) for context.

MTH2025 - Thoughts?

Hi guys, I am gonna commence my first sem at Monash in 2025, and I am curious to know how "difficult" or well run this course (linear algebra advanced) is. I have revised up to matrices geometric transforms and basic e-vectors and e-values.
