Hello I’m doing Bsc and after my first year I want to transfer to Radiography and Medical Imaging Bachelor degree (honours). What units are needed to transfer, and am I still allowed to change units or no? As allocate + preferences closed so will that have any effect on it ?
Hi! I’m an international student currently studying a b-sci (unimelb) and am hoping to apply to monash med grad entry later in the year.
I’m just wondering for international students who have received interviews to monash med grad entry but from a non-biomed background, what subjects did you do that counted as a “broad biomed background” as per the entry requirements? I reached out to monash to ask for more information and if the subjects i take now could count as a broad biomed background but they basically said they cant really tell me at this stage because i haven’t yet applied.
So im just hoping if anyone can give me more insight on the topic 🥹 for extra context, i’ve done bio, chem, physio, anatomy and am planning to do neuroscience and immunology/microbiology (im also a psych major but i dont think that counts as biomed)
Thank you so much in advance!!
Taking these units next semester. Anyone who took these units recently able to provide a review? Are they WAM boosters?
Hey everyone ! I'm a new student at monash this year and I was wondering if there were any other nursing students around? I don't know anyone doing my degree yet and was hoping to make some new friends !!!!
please dont downvote me to hell but is it possible that I do the https://online.stanford.edu/programs/artificial-intelligence-graduate-certificate concurrently with my degree and then get credit for it in the next sem?
say i start a Monash Hons in Sem 2, 2025 then I do https://online.stanford.edu/courses/cs221-artificial-intelligence-principles-and-techniques
would it be possible to get credit for https://handbook.monash.edu/current/units/FIT5047
I have seen that Stanford gives you a transcript and you can participate in online live lectures/Ed Discussions/Consult hours basically the main things that have been helping me through my UniMelb degree anyways. Would Monash give me credit for the subject? i am international so price would be essentially the same for both of them for me.
I'd really appreciate your input, as to which electives, other than the mandatory BMS1021, are relevant to specialising in biomedical engineering? I'm quite confused, and I'm late too. In the end, I'll decide from my own observations ofc, but any help would be really appreciated
(I have A level background with four subjects, and don't need foundational units)
Hi,
I need to take a bioinformatics course for my bachelor's degree, but I found out that BMS2062 and GEN3010 are not available to exchange students and will not be offered in 2025, respectively.
I contacted the head of studies for BMS2062 and he confirmed that the unit was open to everyone in all previous years and not for 2025. Who do I contact to try and make an exception for my case?
Thank you so much!!
I'm doing a engineering degree and i know There are some programs with certain requirements, i have a decent pc at home that will run those easily but is a laptop with similar specs required ? Thanks
what units are compulsory for science first year? I know one is SCI1000, what is the other one?
I wish to transfer to unimelb in my second semester this year as an intl student. i will study bachelor of arts in monash and i want to transfer to bachelor of commerce.
please help me with what i should focus on and any specific courses i should take as im clueless :')) what is the transfer application process like for international students?
Hello, I'm studying first year biomed this year, I'm 19 (female). My hobbies are volleyball, eating out, hanging with friends and I want to start going to the gym. Lmk if you want to become friends!
Might be a dumb question but am I right to assume that I don't have to reapply for a scholarship if I already applied on VTAC? Just wanted to double check and if so, I forgot to submit a document when I applied through VTAC so will I be able to submit thay separately to support my statements?
Hey guys, I'm transferring to monash from college in the US. I planned to arrive in Australia on feb 21st for general orientation week but I got an email saying biomed transition day is feb 18/19. For anyone who's attended this before, how important is it to go as someone who's new to monash? changing my plane ticket will cost quite a bit so I'm weighing my options. All input is appreciated!
Is it possible to do a year-long FYP and start in semester two, then finish it in sem 1 of the next year? If it is possible is there much less availability so I’m more likely to get a bad group or project? I feel like having the summer holiday to work on it rather than the winter would be a big help
Anyone wanting to transfer their student studio apartment to someone else? Preferably in the inner east or close to city will be ideal open to others too.
Please DM me as keen to move out where I am ASAP! Thank you!
Hi there! I am starting at Monash this year (semester 1) in biomedical engineering honours but have not sorted out my accomodation yet, so was wondering if anyone was willing to flat together? It doesn't have to be the entire year as I may move into halls for semester 2, but if anyone is keen please let me know!!
For anyone who has done mth3130 (Topology) or mth3110 (Differential Geometry), are you able to provide the relevant textbooks or course notes for these units? I’m trying to get myself on track this semester and would really appreciate it please and thank you!
Any computer science students have part time jobs related to their studies?
It’s literally impossible to find part time jobs for software development, data analyst, cybersecurity or even IT help desk & data entry, am I the only one that can’t seem to find a job?
And don’t get me started on how competitive internships are like what
Does anyone have any good recommendations for a food container/jar that can keep food hot for at least 6-8 hours or more? Would prefer a container with compartments or one that has several stackable jars.
I would also like the inside to be stainless steel, rather than plastic.
Have been searching on Amazon and Ebay but all the reviews for have mixed opinions.
TIA.
I will be doing bachelor of occupational therapy next month. And recently I saw that I will need to apply for several checks and follow the immunisation requirements, but does anyone know when should I get all of these done? Is there a due date? Can I just wait till year 3 or 4? Thanks.
It sounds stupid because it is but I was waiting for an email about selecting preferences from Allocate after I accepted my offer and completly forgot about it till now. Does anyone know if i can call Monash or something at this point to still select preferences or not?
Sadly I just didnt get the atar requirement for Monash law (0.75 away from 95 :( ) and ended up at Deakin. I'm doing law/arts at Deakin but would like to transfer to Monash law after a year. Is it possible to transfer from a double to single degree? Will it take me longer to graduate then if I just stay at Deakin?
Title, i just wanna know whats the actual benefit? and why cant you couple CS honours with a another degree?
Im in year 12, just skimming courses. SO anyone in these courses or knows, can you pls lmk
Thanks
I just want someone who is LOCKED IN or trying to be. Not necessarily study specific right now but that’s all part of the grind for productivity and soon it will be inevitable kms.
At the moment I really want a gym buddy that we can just force eachother to just go, I’m weak asf so not so much about the exercises. I’m going into second year girl so ideally similar age thanks 🙏 in fact I’m really specifically calling out for anyone who goes to the Fitness First in glen waverley - though anyone who is keen on being productive and ACCOUNTABLE with uni starts up rather than bed rotting is welcome
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice or insights about my friend’s situation. He’s an international student studying for his Master’s in Monash, and he’s failed the same subject twice now (once in each of the last two semesters). He’s really stressed about what might happen next, especially with his visa and academic standing. Mainly concerned for his visa.
hi! i’m entering a bachelor of mechanical engineering this year, and was wondering what the best laptop would be that could run the appropriate programs?
being a mechanical engineering degree, these are the minimum requirements from the handbook:
Minimum PC requirements:
any information is greatly appreciated! thank you!
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to transfer to Monash for a double degree in Law and Science and was considering taking units through Open Universities Australia (OUA) to later apply for credit transfer.
I spoke to Monash Connect, but they weren’t too helpful—they just directed me to check the Credit for Prior Study website. The problem is that a lot of the units listed there are outdated or no longer offered through OUA. For example, I found an Economics unit that was supposedly eligible for credit, but it turns out it was last offered in 2012.
Has anyone successfully transferred into Monash Law or Science via OUA? If so, which units did you take, and how did the credit transfer process go? I don’t want to waste time on units that won’t count. Any advice would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
i changed my first semester elective after allocate plus closed, but i had already put in my preferences for my original elective unit. once allocate opens again do i still have the chance to add my preferences for my new unit or is it too late? also once allocate opens again is it the same format as before or is our actual timetable given and we just adjust that?
hi guys, i want to take this course for my bsci however i have never taken VCE chem. is this the right decision?
Is there a platform where university students can post meetups or share their projects with other students? I’m also wondering if any platforms allow students from different universities to connect with each other. If anyone knows of something like this, I’d love to hear about it!
