I'm a first year student and in first semester, the degree I chose turned out to be a horrible match for me but I did not realise until after census date. I still ended up discontinuing the entire course, and transferred to a completly different faculty in semester 2. I'm definitely happy with my decision to change courses and am currently doing well in it, but I am concerned about the implications of the DF one course that shows on my results. When I eventually apply for internships, will I be able to get away with only showing the WAM/academic transcript of my new course?
Hi. Is it possible to complete an honours after a bachelors degree if I am not able to get into the honours program in my final year?
I was wondering if anyone has had exam rearrangements for mental health? I’ve had an ongoing situation with stalking and that has affected my studies this semester. I just don’t feel capable or of putting in effort for university and my mental health coping with this incident has really put a toll on me. Has anyone else put in for special consideration? This is my first time and my counsellor suggested I put in for it.
Hey everyone. I have a quick question about tuition fees. I’m an international student who will be attending Usyd DMD class in 2025. I tried asking admissions about this but they didn’t really give me an answer? So the question is: Is the entire year’s tuition due in Feb or do we pay half of it. Like do we pay half of the $91500 at the beginning of the year and then the second half in second semester?
Other than the course coordinator, who else is worth sending an email to regarding re-entry into a program? I had to take a step back last year but not without absent failing some units and have since been on a gap year.
Does anyone know how long (approx.) it takes to receive an offer after applying via UAC?
Thank you lovely people!
Why there’s so many flies around campus lol.
Hi, i’ll be taking my INFO1113 exam soon and was hoping to get some tips on how I should prepare. I have gone through pretty much all the concepts in the course except the last few in terms of theory with little practice. Where should I start considering the less time left? (Basically what resources are a must to do to score well, is it all the tutorial questions or lecture questions or challenges or sample papers or some other resource. I cant do all the resources since I have other units to prepare for too). Thankyouu XD
Hey guys,
I had previously accepted a course with CSP for S1 2025, however, I won’t be able to continue due to a surgery. I have withdrawn my application and I can no longer see it in my Sydney Student - “Applications” tab. Is there anything else that I need to do in order to avoid any financial/academic penalties? And do I need to update any govt/commonwealth platform regarding it?
Thank you
I just discontinued my course. I have another course offer at another university that I'm starting at next year. My mental health has been shit because of how much I hate what I'm doing and the only class that would qualify as RPL I completed last semester so finishing out this semester is not something I care about (or really should do for my own sake). My only thing is it was approved immediately. From all my research in the time leading up to this, I was under the impression there was a much more lengthy process/application. I just clicked a couple of boxes and that was it? Tbh it was almost an accident that I put it through because I really didn't expect it to submit so easily. I got an email literally the next second approving my request and saying I'll be withdrawn from my units. The quickest time I've read (on here at least in all the posts I could find) for someone's to be processed was around 5 days. Is this just an admin thing and it will be followed up on? Or am I free at last lol
It all began when some brat blocked the entrance to the meeting with my fellow intellectuals. She attempted to hand me some flyer regarding sexual assault and harassment on campus. As a member of the young liberal organisation, I do not have time for this shit. Least of all for some dumb, entitled piece of shit. I screamed at the mong, ripped up the grubby flyer and spat in her pathetic face. I felt so good. I felt like a king.
Dad dropped me off at uni the other day. Get this guys, he had the fucking audacity to say he’ll be increasing my allowance by 5%. 5 fucking percent. What a joke. He only affords me $2000 a week, the tight bastard. The ripe old dildo is going to die in a few years anyway, why not give me what I’m entitled to. I’m a member of the young liberal organisation for Christ sake. An intellectual! Can he not see that it would be an investment for the future!
Some peasant tried joining our prestigious organisation last week. This guy went to school at a state school! Who the fuck does he think he is to intrude on us educated men? He should feel lucky to be near me, within my presence. The uneducated serf thought he had the right to speak without consulting me first! I was livid. I fondled in my bag and found my trusty gag, albeit it was a bit stained from the night before. I grabbed the dirty foreign drop kick and shoved the toy right into his pathetic mouth. I laughed and all my fellow intellectuals started to join in. What a fucking loser, that’ll teach him.
I want to cook, but I don't want to get burnt.
I’ve just found out that my application to Discontinue (not to count as fail) all my current units was approved. It’s good to know that I won’t have a semester of fails on my record and that I’ll get my money back. But I would much rather my life not to have fallen apart this semester. Nothing will bring my old life back.
Do i have to apply for honours directly after my complete for bachelors if i want to do one. Or can I graduate first get a job and see how thing work out then apply for honours 2-3 years later. Will it still count as 4 years degree. I am not referring to masters just 1 year of honours.
The room is a twin share room in 8 people apartment with bathroom included. My roommate is my bestie but we both are moving out in December. The other people living here are all so sweet and I’m great friends with them all. All the bills are included and they have events every week which are honestly so fun. You can use the movie theatre with friends and use the gym anytime it’s all free including the table tennis, pool and game room. Usyd is 15 mins from here and UTS is 8 mins. It’s 12-15 mins close to Broadway and 5 mins close to Central Park so all grocery shopping is close as well. They increased the rent from this year but since my lease is till July 2025 the rent is only 449 per week which is a really good deal. Contact me for more details ~~
Hi all,
I'm a prospective domestic student and am wondering what the likelihood of receiving an offer for either the Bachelor of Arts OR the Bachelor of Science would be with the TAFE TPC qualification?
I'm not too sure how high my final TES will be at the end of the TPC and I'm kind of freaking out about it, so I'm curious as to whether the qualification alone would be enough to receive an offer into either Arts or Science, regardless of my TES?
Cheers
My condition turned bad this morning I think I will be spending time attending the doctors and hospital check For my situation, I think I will need an extension of more than one week or two weeks. Can I have an extension of 2 weeks for my assignments? I need additional time to address the exacerbation of my pre-existing conditions
Hi guys! I did a bachelors degree in a very different field and worked about a year however I want to change careers to urban planning. Should I do a bachelors or masters in urban planning? A bachelors is 4 years, however a masters is 2 years and less in fees. I am inclined to do masters but since I come from an unrelated area, I’m worried I lack experience/knowledge for the masters. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Realistically, what WAM would get me chance of a spot? My WAM is in the high 60s and the website says an average mark over 60. All responses are greatly appreciated, thanks
hi. im looking for someone who can transfer their lease for me for s1 feb 2025 at the regiment and qm building. i would appreciate any response or dm 🙏 thank you so much
Hi. So I am a prospective S1 2025 Feb international student and I applied for accommodation as soon as the application opened I still haven't gotten my offer yet as I am on their waitlist (which I believe means that I won't be able to get my place) and I am so scared that I won't be able to secure my regiment accommodation place 😭😭😭
And I am in desperate need of help and I really don't know what to do....
I have already checked all the sites such as iglu, y-sites, unilodge, off-campus housing database etc etc and they are all so damn expensive (I'm looking for less than $450 pw, close to camperdown/darlington campus, single bed and just shared kitchen and bathroom cause i literally just need a place to live atp 🥲 )
can anybody pls dm me or comment if ANYBODY got a response yet from usyd accommodation (esp regiment) and whether you think I still have a chance getting into regiment😭
I'm so scared.. i would appreciate any response from anybody.
thank you so much in advance.
what happens at the end of year? is there a specific date we gotta take locks off and remove belongings? is there a formal process or nah
Hey guys Title pretty much says it all. I'm an older dude, wanting to go back to uni because I'm very interested in music but I'm not too sure on the best way of getting into uni.
I've heard of the Mature-age Entry Scheme but not sure if it's the best way to get for someone with no HSC? does anyone have experience with this? or can anyone recommend me the best path to uni?
kind regards.
Hi everyone Im an intl student who wants to do chemical and biomolecular eng. at USYD but super unfortunately I can't find out if Im receiving a scholarship until after the 10 days theyve given me to accept the offer. I don't know what to do and im really upset because we just dont have the funds whereas with UTS i can cut back on a year due to a program they do. Honestly it's just the difference of one year thats a problem does anyone know anything I can do to ensure a scholarship? Any advice appreciated. If you could help me be a sour grape too I dont mind lol.
Hey everyone, does anyone have any advice for the exam?
Thank you!
Hi, I'm thinking of doing math1062 next semester. I have taken the equivalent of math1061 (math1021 and math1002) last year so the content is a little hazy in my mind and I want to review the content again in the break. What topics from math1061 should I focus on that show up again or get built upon in math1062?
Thanks for the help.
Anyone has any idea what are the penalties for parking in staff carparks during the hours? Or how regular does the carparks get checked
Hellooo.
I’m starting mechanical engineering in February, and I’m wondering about the best devices for classes. Will any laptop or iPad work, or are there specific apps we’ll need to download that might have compatibility issues? Also, is it necessary to bring a laptop to class, or would an iPad be enough? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
