Hi Team, I have been offered a spot on the Masters of Project Management next year and the course looks ideal. I was offered a full-fee paying place, however I was hoping for the Commonwealth supported place instead?
Are the CSP spots limited or something, or do you need to apply separately? The $40k a year is a bit harder to stomach, though I would be able to claim a tax deduction. (Anyone done the maths to compare?)
Is it as tough as it seems to land a job in marketing without PR or citizenship? How employable is it if you’ve done internships and put in the hard work? Did you end up going back to your home country, or did you find a way to stay and work in Australia?
Would love to hear your experiences!
Hey, have anyone received Vice Chancellor's Award for Round 3? (December 2nd) Is it still under review?
So I sent through my special cons request but it says that since mine is longer than short term, that it can’t be accepted.
Any advice on where I should go from here?
Are there any societies that are still running during this time or if anybody want to shoot me a dm ? I want somebody to hangout with :/
Hi everyone,
I’m in my final semester at USYD, studying a Master’s in Digital Communication and Culture (DCC). For my CAPSTONE unit, the Major Project is worth 40%.
Due to late submission penalties, I’m likely to fail this assignment (around 40 marks or less). I’ve checked the course outline, and it doesn’t say failing one assignment means failing the unit. Based on my calculations, I should still pass overall.
Does anyone know if failing a Major Project could affect passing the unit beyond its weight in the final grade?
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
Can anyone who has done the Master of Cultural Studies speak to what the course was like? Did you enjoy it, was there a sense of community in the cohort, what did you do afterwards? Thanks so much!
I’ve applied for the BVB DVM intake next year as a non-school leaver and I already know my chances of getting in are very slim, but I’m going crazy waiting. Does anyone know if you get notified if your application is unsuccessful or only if you get an offer? My application is still stuck on “Decision pending - additional selection criteria.” I’m so anxious waiting for an outcome… I just want to know, even if it’s bad news. 😭
hi anyone have lecture note data2002? i need them right now
Best OSHC provider for medications and mental health assistance?
I’m an exchange student (female), who has just finished exams. For the last semester I’ve been just focused on studying and all my friends are heading back to their home town for the summer break. I’d love to meet any Sydney Uni international students over the break. Where can I do this?

Hey all,
Does anyone know about the OLES1600 (Exploring Sydney)?
It's annoying to turn off the light frequently. Is there any way to keep it on?
What are the odds that we can find an extra spot on the date of graduation? I'm graduation 6th December (friday), hoping a homeboy doesn't use his 2 tickets completely that I can use 1, but what are the odds on the day?
Hello fellow students,
I am trying to get Microsoft Copilot to read some files related to my work. Hence to upload those files in every new chat is untenable.
Sometimes (not always, hence more confusion), it will know old files exist in the Microsoft Copilot Chat Files folder then ask if I want to "Use the old file". This means it can read files in that folder? How do I tell Copilot in every chat to just refer to the exact file name in that exact folder?
Edit: Ticket opened at IT Support
My last assignment was due on Monday at 11:55 P.m. However, I caught a cold I felt the worst on Monday I struggled to finish the assignment, but I couldn't meet the deadline. I tried to get a certificate from a doctor which was only available today. But it was already wed. The doctor specified the period I was severely impacted was from Monday - to Thursday. I was concerned that because I had not seen the doctor on Monday, my p.pc form dated today would not be a strong supporting document. But I started to have the infection last week, which I saw the doctor, and was medication but getting worse on Sunday, As the PPC form was not issued on Monday, I was wondering if it could be a strong supporting document
Hi,
I recently did an exam, which required a 45% hurdle and I am super worried whether I passed or not. For context, I did really well in everything else, having a 42/50, for the remaining marks, however, for the final exam, the stress of the fact that it was a hurdle exam got to me [I studied and reviewed the content for days] and I got overwhelmed and it threw me off completely. I don't think I would've failed by much but I am really worried, as it is a core unit, and if I fail, it'd delay my degree by a year. Has anyone had any experience with asking for a supplementary exam or an appeal?
Hello guys, has anyone who studied two units can review and recommend which one to learn?
Thank you!!!
I'm planning to take Bsc with two majors (not Daylell): computer science and data science. I follow the sample plan for those two majors (please refer to the attachment). I don't understand how OLE and elective units work.
Currently, I have DATA 1001, INFO1910, MATH1061; all S1C ND-CC, and DATA1002, INFO1113, MATH1064; all S2C ND-CC. Based on the sample plan, I only need to take one elective and OLE unit(?).
The thing is, I don't know if I should take 3 OLE units worth 2 cp each, or 1 OLE unit worth 6 cp in the first semester. Should I take OLE unit(s) in the first semester only? What are the pros and cons? For OLE units that is worth 6 cp, I can only find "Experience XXX" units, while the other units are worth 2 cp.
If I follow the sample plan, as far as I know, I have fulfilled the criteria of degree core and 2 majors, translating to 108 cp fulfilled. This means I have to take another 36, from OLE unit(s) and electives. Say, I only do the minimum of 6 cp of OLE unit(s), I still have 30, which I need to fulfill from the electives from Table A and Table S. What is the difference between Table A and Table S? When should I choose electives from Table A and Table S? It seems that Table S is just a superset of Table A.
Hey guys i need help choosing an OLE and im not sure what it is exactly and how important it is. Are they extra subjects you need to take that arent related to ur course? Like what does “Experience X country” mean? Do i need to visit country? If its not super important should i just pick and easy course in order to lessen my work load? Pls am I so overwhelmed
Just wondering when do internal transfer applications get accepted or progressed on? I put in my application 3 days after the transfer period opened, but when I check my application on sydney student, it shows no progress.
I would assume that they will probably progress it after results are released but I’m just severely anxious rn 😭 So if anyone is in the same position as me, please let me know so I hopefully dont crash out.
hi, I'm a domestic student studying overseas in Singapore, who is picking their DP choices this year (currently in g10). I want to study bachelor of psych MAYBE with economics, but don't know which math course to take in IB. I was looking at Uni of Melbourne, and AI HL, and either AA is a pre req for Science (which includes psych), but on the USYD website there seems to be no pre reqs for bachelor of psych, science, or economics?? I also searched online and found multiple pdfs from USYD saying all these degrees had HSC pre reqs for advanced math, but I cant find anywhere else saying this, and don't know what those courses mean in IB terms?? very confused and I need to submit courses soon, any help would be appreciated 😭
I’m transferring from UNSW to usyd in the exact same course (civil engineering). I’m in my final year of my degree and need to know how many units will carry over.
I rang Sydney and they were very vague. They couldn’t give me an answer over the phone, which was weird . They told me to apply via uac and to accept an offer , then once I’ve already accepted Sydney unis offer I could apply for credit.
I really don’t want to pay the uac fee and enrol into a new uni if I don’t know how many units are carrying over .
Anyone have any experience with this ?? Or is there a way I can know how many units are carrying over?
I’ve recently been planning on taking a Philosophy intensive in January-February, but I’ve already booked a one week trip in the second week of Feb. Does anyone know how many tutorials there are in one week of intensive? How much will I miss? My guess is like 3 or 4. But I really have no idea.
Hi, I am a indian female student starting at USYD from Feb 2025. Looking for a female roommate to move in with me near USYD.
Ideal location: within walkable distance to USYD Move in: Feb 2025.

Hi, so I have submitted my usyd application for Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Dalyell Scholar) on 8 November 2024, however I haven't heard back from them regarding the result of my application. My SAT score is 1430 and that's the exact min score for the degree on their website. Since I haven't received my LoA, does that mean I'm rejected? When should I expect my acceptance letter?
