Give way when Buses indicate

If a bus is indicating to pull out in front of you, you MUST GIVE WAY. There is literally a little sign on the back that says this. The amount of fuckers that have been getting shirty at me because I'm giving away is insane. Learn the road rules.

How is ANYONE affording art?

I just recently moved into a new place and was looking for some art to furnish the place.

I didn’t realise how expensive/inaccessible art was! It’s either $1k plus for a unique art piece or you get cheap, mass produced prints.

Where is everyone buying their unique but still affordable art from!?

DAB issues with certain stations

So as my wife has been complaining about my choice of music, I've found something weird on DAB on my car stereo - when ever I try to tune in Nova or any of the associated channels, I only get Sky News Radio.

Is it just my head unit being weird, or do I have to get out the tinfoil hat again?

Can anyone confirm if it's a config error from Nova or if it's something dumb on my end?

Muchos gracias!

Overseas visitor in Sydney with a wrist fracture.. where can we go to get plaster (and wire) removed? Don’t have Medicare and travel insurance won’t cover as it’s pre-existing.

Not sure how to navigate the health system. Do we go to a public hospital or a private clinic without Medicare? How much would it cost roughly?

Cameras allowed at Accor stadium

Does anyone know if small mirrorless cameras are allowed at Accor stadium for concerts/have had any luck?

The T&Cs on the website are pretty vague, and was wondering if small cameras like the Fuji X100V are allowed (non detachable lens, less than 3 inches long)

Anyone else think the new AGNSW north building is underwhelming?

So I visited the North building of the AGNSW last night.

Must say - I'm pretty disappointed. Lots of glass just makes it feel like a corporate lobby; its not the monument that it should be. Did they learn nothing from places like MONA?

The tank exhibition space, on the other hand, is fantastic.

Scientists confirm 'disgusting' composition of mysterious tar balls that surfaced on Sydney beaches

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-11-07/what-were-black-balls-on-sydney-beaches-made-of/104570780

They were actual shit balls on Coogee beach…also known as ‘fatbergs’.

At least we don’t have one as our president though, I guess…

I found an echidna

I was at a carpark when i heard rustling in the bushes and i found an echidna. I have absolutely no idea why its here as there are no nature reserves, bushland or anything of that matter where i live, its just houses and shops. Thought it was interesting and i had no idea that cat was there. What should i have done maybe?

Can someone help ID this hefty creepy crawly

1st encounter with a significant size spider in my 6 years in AU. Is this a huntsman? Should I be worried or do I just put it back outside?

Any recommendations for an electrician in the Ryde/West Ride area?

I have a broken front porch light to get replaced and a double socket to replace. I like to support local trades people where I can, so would appreciate any recommendations for an electrician near me (West Ryde). I've only recently moved to Sydney so don't have any local contacts yet. If you've had similar work done, was it expensive?

Thanks.

Needing local recommendations

Hey Sydneysiders!

Was hoping some of y’all could be kind souls and assist me with some local recommendations- surprisingly in my short 33 years I’ve nearly really forayed into the CBD.

I’m travelling up from Melbourne for a couple of days next week for some marketing work and was keen on some recs for my limited down time.

Ideally:

  • local bookstores
  • local ramen
  • local specialty coffee
  • local place to chill and hangout with a book

To assist - I’m around Hyde Park/Pitt st (hope that helps). If you want more info or discuss more on what info you need for sensible options - let me know or DM me happy to chat or even meet!

Appreciate the assistance!

CO2 & Propane Mosquito Traps

Many suburbs in Sydney currently have a serious mosquito problem. Unfortunately, I am affected.

Does anybody have any experience buying or using CO2 or Propane mosquito traps in Sydney?

Most of the reviews, feedback & videos of these machines have been overseas so I am unsure how effective they might be if used in Australia/Sydney.

SYDNEY AIRPORT PICKUP Question

I hope you can answer my question: Can I bring and park a 6x4 trailer at SYD AIPORT? I'm picking up family that has 120kg of baggage in total + carry-on. My family and I are bringing baggage also because we are driving from Riverina and plan to stay a couple of days in SYD. We are in a 7seater SUV and will be packed inside so a trailer is a must. Is this a possibility or is there any place I could park near by?

Looking for non-retreat drug addiction help in Sydney

Hi I’m looking for drug addiction help, online or in-person, in Sydney that doesn’t have a crazy long waitlist. If possible geared towards students. Or please suggest an affordable therapist who has experience in drug addiction. I don’t have Medicare
