I am currently pursuing a Master of Data Science and aiming to become an AI engineer, with a backup plan in data engineering or software development. My bachelor's degree is in economics, but during the first year of my master's program, I studied very hard and performed well in computer science and software engineering (CSSE) units. I also took additional computer science courses on Coursera so I quiet confidence in my progress to archive what I want.
However, in my second year, I received a data migration internship offer from the McCusker Internship program, and now I am unsure whether I should take two research units in Data Science and IT or use my final two optional units for the internship and a deep learning course. It seem to be too many options compare to the initial plan of just study AI stream units and self-study CS units 😅 .
My question is: do you think research units are worthwhile for a future industry position, especially since I want to become an AI engineer or AI scientist (or even a data scientist)? Or are research units mainly beneficial for PhD applications? What should I expect when taking that researching units and do it hard and demanding?
Does anyone know when the last day for sem 1 tuition payment is?
Does it matter if the electlves I choose don’t relate to my major whatsoever?
What’s the best place to park?
just recieved my offer letter from uwa for the 8 months foundation programme thats starting in june wondering if theres anyone else that plans to go for the foundation programme in june, or anyone who are currently in the foundation course: how is it there? is the curriculum difficult? how was adjusting to the new environment?

hi! I’m looking to get into a pretty competitive program at another uni after I finish my undergrad (so I really need to maintain my 86+ WAM for a CSP), does anyone have any level 2/3 units they’d recommend?
I have done the following level 1 units:
I've got a fresh copy of the DSM-5 if anyone wants to buy it, will be selling for 100 bucks which is pretty good considering they're 180 new
Hey everyone, I am currently doing a Neuroscience major and minoring in German in my bachelor. This will be my last year before I apply for Doctor of Medicine in my post graduate. My expected GPA at the end of the 3 years would be around 6.3-6.4 . What score would I need on my Gamsat to have a chance in being selected for the interview? Would scores of 85-90% in the Gamsat allow me to have a chance in doing Doctor of medicine with my excepted final GPA.
Thank you
Hi! I’m a year 12 student aiming for these courses and just wanted to ask people who have been offered a place, what was your ATAR and UCAT scores? I’m also a broadway student so it would be really helpful for broadway applicants to comment too 🙏
I’m already going to work my hardest and ik interviews play a huge part in rankings, but I’m just curious and would like a rough idea :).
Help! Not accepted, but not rejected. Should I continue holding out? What was your experience for those who received a late offer?
Have tried scouring the Internet and can't seem to find any real and updated photos of how the studio rooms look like. If anyone has pictures of how the room looks please leave a comment and I'll send a message.
Hey guys I’m an international student coming to uwa for my masters .I’ll be staying at trinity.I’m super excited at the same time a bit nervous .So I would like to know and connect with the people staying there as well freshers who are coming this feb.
Hey guys. I’m taking the suppl exam for this unit and the lecturer told the format is going to be the same as the blueprint. So i was wondering it might be similar to the questions we already did on our final exam. Does anyone remember the tutorial or practise question numbers which were asked in the final exam? I only remember them being almost similar with just few parts of the question changed. So if anyone knows the tutorial/practise question numbers that were tested in the final exam or even which type of question please let me know! Thank you :)
Hi all, a few days ago I signed up for some of the events happening during orientation week. After completing the form there was a short message that an email will be sent to me confirming my signup. I’ve checked my spam folder and everything but haven’t been able to find anything. Should I just wait longer?
Hey everyone!
I’m an international student moving into St. Thomas More College soon, and I’m really looking forward to it! I’ll be staying in a Standard Room, so I just wanted to ask a few things before I get there.
Since Tommy is Catholic-affiliated, I was wondering—what’s it like for Muslim students? If you’ve lived there or know someone who has:
Are there halal food options in the dining hall? If not, how do people usually manage?
How’s the overall experience for Muslim students? Like, is it easy to practice, especially during Ramadan?
Any general tips for settling in? (Especially for someone completely new to Perth!)
I’m honestly just excited (and a little nervous) about moving in, so I’d love to hear about your experiences! Any advice would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Hey all! About to start Psych Honours and am in the last week or so of selecting a supervisor for the research project.
I'm pretty open minded about what sort of research I'd be interested in, and sort of have more of a focus on the actual practitioner stuff, so am keen on a supervisor that's easy to work with/communicate with and good for getting through the year with strong enough grades to move onto Masters.
Any past students had good experiences with particular supervisors? Any other recommendations would be very welcome also!
I have offers for masters in finance at these three universities. as an international student which would be the best option for a career in core finance? I also plan to shift to Melbourne or Sydney for a more permanent job, so which of the following will provide me the best teachings as well as superior industry connections while also being on a budget.
is there any way for me to get into UWA with no atar? i dont have any experience or any certs.
please help! urgent!
Just wondering how this unit was for everyone who did it, Ive never done a human biology unit before I dont know what to expect
I am about to do the supplementary exam for both ENG dynamics and control engineering, anyone have any info on how the exam or prev exams were for these units, were they similar to past exams?
I need to do one of these as a core unit for Sem2, so I was wondering which is better to do? Mainly considering how easy it is to get a HD in them (I need to maintain a high GPA), while also considering a bit how useful it is and how enjoyable the content is.
I did Methods ATAR, and did okay in it overall, but did quite well in statistics portion of the course. Although, I didn't find it the most exciting. Also, I barely have any experience with coding (and don't really enjoy it).
On studentVIP it seems like SCIE1104 is a more popular choice and more recommended, and it seems like significantly less time commitment (2hr pracs per week, while STAT1400 is 3hr lectures and 2hr labs per week). So, I'm leaning towards SCIE1104, but would be good to hear more input from others.
If anyone has experience with either (or both) of these units please share!!
Heyo! Can't find much about this unit online, I was wondering if anyone here has taken it before? Would love to know what kind of assessments it has and what the learning environment is like, for myself and for any other students interested in taking it. Thanks, love ya 🤙🤙
I am kinda stressed about my upcoming deffered anhb1102 exam so just wanted to ask how did u guys find it? Also, is it only mcq based exam?
As someone who had their heart set on med, i’ve found it difficult to choose an undergrad. I am considering pharmacy and nursing, if anyone is in the same position i’d love to hear more about what you’ve chosen to do and why :)
postgrad entry vs course switching, best undergrad degree choice, etc.
Is it mandate to have at least 60 WAM by the end of the master’s course to graduate ?
Just wanted to ask how you guys found the scie1106 exam as I have a deferred exam coming up
anyone from yugo here? how’s the accommodation so far?
Going into Mech Eng/Master of Professional Engineering this Sem
I want to hear your recommendations + experiences for units you've done? Any things you wish you'd known before taking them?
hi there! im taking the cits3001 supp exam soon and would like to know if anyone is also taking it? also has anyone taken a level 3 CS supp exam before? how much of the paper did they change?
