If you completed your degree, and transferred during it, how did it affect your academic transcript? Please let me know.
Hey guys, I accepted an offer to study psychological science at Deakin back in December but now want to swap to Law at deakin. As I haven't yet started studying with them (just accepted the offer) could I apply directly to Law or would I have to complete a trimester of psych and then apply to transfer?
Thanks!
im currently waiting for deakin’s decision on my master of psychology application. they did mention that the results will be out in december. the thing is im an intl student, and im lowkey running out of time to apply for a visa.
i do have a confirmation of enrollment in another institution with a diff program, which i plan to rescind if i get an offer from deakin. my visa application is currently on hold.
im starting to panic!! is anyone in the same situation as me? and to the current students in the said program, around which week of december last year did u receive ur offer?
thanks!!
Where can I study in Deakin Burwood after 9pm since that’s when the library closes.
Hello,
3 Pass tasks are overdue because of me falling ill on the day of submission. I didn’t consult any doctor as it was normal fever. But due to the illness, I couldn’t submit my tasks on time.
What can I do to make it even? Should I still submit the tasks and wait for the tutor’s comment?
Will they still accept the tasks and at least mark them as complete?
What usually happens when we submit late? And what can be done to save my unit?
Hi everyone!
I'm currently in a pickle with where I am at in terms of study. I have completed my first year at Deakin studying for a Bachelor of Psychology. However, I noticed I am beginning to feel "suffocated" with the content. Please do not misunderstand, I love what I am learning, I have completed a relevant TAFE diploma and am taking volunteering/internships to further support my study.
But I wished I had classes that weren't so heavy. In school, I really enjoyed languages & humanities and would like to continue studying (Bachelor of Psychology/Bachelor of Arts at Monash) and also heard about the opportunities for exchange and other programs. Unfortunately, I cannot switch to Arts at Deakin because it does not offer the majors/minors I would like to study. I am also aware that by picking up Arts, my fees will increase dramatically.
Should I wait it out for another semester or year, or take the jump and transfer? Would love to hear your suggestions!
Edit: Forgot to mention that what makes me reluctant to transfer to Monash is that I've heard questionable things regarding their Psychology course and unfair grading.
Hey so I finished my international exchange application to Deakin a few weeks ago. They said I should get a response or approval two weeks ago. I asked them again and they said a response by late last week. What happened? Is it likely my application going to be denied? Anyone going through the same?
Hi! I have an issue -I am an international student, Over the past week, I have been trying to follow up with Student Central, the Academic Integrity Team, and other relevant contacts to better understand the timeline for this matter. Unfortunately, I have received conflicting timelines and varying pieces of information, leaving me in an increasingly difficult position as my graduation date on December 6 rapidly approaches. This is not just an academic challenge for me—it is deeply personal. For the past two years, I have worked tirelessly and with full dedication toward completing my Master’s degree. Despite many challenges, I have maintained a disciplined approach and stayed committed to my studies. This degree is the culmination of all my hard work and sacrifices, and I am immensely proud of how far I have come.
However, this unresolved situation has caused significant emotional trauma for both me and my family. My parents, who have made countless sacrifices to support me, have been eagerly awaiting my graduation, a moment that symbolizes the culmination of all our efforts. My father recently underwent a stent surgery, and I was unable to visit him due to my exams. It was one of the most challenging times for me emotionally, but I stayed focused and assured him that we would reunite for my graduation. Now, with the uncertainty surrounding this matter, I am struggling to keep that promise to him.
The timeline is critical not only for my emotional well-being but also for logistical and legal reasons. As advised by a MARA agent, my Temporary Graduate Visa (TR visa) application depends on receiving my completion letter on time. With my current visa extension valid only for six months, any delay could severely impact my future plans and ability to remain in the country to pursue my career.
I fully understand that the Committee is managing multiple cases, but I humbly and sincerely ask for your empathy and support in recognizing the urgency of my situation. This is more than just a procedural delay for me—it is about safeguarding two years of hard work, my family’s sacrifices, and my future.
Please let me know if there is any possibility of expediting the review process or if there are additional steps I can take to assist in resolving this matter quickly. Please help me Thank you once again for your support.
The USQ experience is pretty rough so far. The classes online are absolutely chaotic and I feel like I'm not being taught what other students are in the same degree at different unis. Very concerned for my academic growth etc.
Also a mature aged student working full time.
I’m an international student and currently enrolled in trimester 3. My study period started on 2nd of November and I have calculating work hours based on that. I wanted to know how is it actually done? Does it start from 2nd of Nov which is a Saturday or 4th of Nov which is a Monday. Also what happens to hours worked between 2nd and 4th if the fortnight is calculated from a Monday? Please help
Hii, first time posting on this sub.
I didn’t do math in year 12 and I regret it now since I really didn’t think I’d develop an interest in compsci and I.T. Bachelor of I.T and Computer Science don’t have a math requirement so I was considering doing one of them. How good is the quality of education and anyone who did these degrees, how is your employability? Does the uni have good connections and how are you able to develop your portfolios?
I guys, I am doing my business analytics but want to speed up learning hence was going through few online sites. I found Datacamp has blackfriday sale and we can also buy in team. So if anyone is interested to teamup with me please let me know. The sale ks ending in 55 min.
hey, i just finished my bachelor of arts (politics and policy study) and want to go back to do my bachelor of law (should get max 8 credits for prior learning). my question for everyone is, has anyone done a law degree while working full time? i did my full arts bachelor while working full time and it was hard but do-able. im nervous that if i do go back and do law that it will be too much working fulltime as i’ve heard the workload is alot. plus in person exams. whats everyone elses experience?
Hi I'm interested in joining next year and was wondering if anyone here is in this club. What kind of things/events happen ect. And what are the vibes? Thanks!
Hey guys I am international student graduating from unimelb this semester (2024). I have applied for deakin, monash, latrobe, rmit, unimelb and swinburne and got a firm offer from deakin for advanced grad dip. The offers from deakin were made relatively early compared to other unis so I have a few questions regarding taking offers and going into clinical psych. I have applied for deakin, monash, latrobe, rmit, unimelb and swinburne.
Sorry these are a lot of questions but any help would be really appreciated :'))
2nd year/past students, how is the checklist supposed to be filled out? I assume that if you’ve had the vaccinations your doctor puts the date they were administered and then initials it to confirm that they’ve seen it on your record but is that required if your immunisation is confirmed by serology? In my case it has been but I’ve only had one vaccine for it when there’s room for two on the pdf, so would I just put the one I’ve had or leave it blank?
Also - we’re only required to do one TB test right?
Hi, I'm awaiting my CoE and Visa for Master's program in Feb 2025. Any international students here attending at the same campus in the same intake? Let's see if we can travel and attend together?
I’ve been thrown back and forth between different teams just trying to ask them if double degrees across institutions still qualify for the vice chancellor’s international scholarships.
The faculty tells me to ask admissions but admissions keeps telling me to ask the faculty. I sent one more email last week but now it just seems like admissions isn’t really responding to my emails anymore. Is this normal?
Hi everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone is doing a Bachelor of Science here. How is it? I'm mainly going to the Burwood campus, but I wanted to know (sorry if this is a dumb question) if there are many exams or lab reports. What's the vibe?
Thank you!!
Hi, i will be joining in the 2025 july intake and wanted to know if it would be better living at the deakin res or get a studio apt?
Hi everyone!
I’m an international student currently trying to decide between La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus and Deakin University in Melbourne for my a bachelor's in Biomedical Science. I’d love to get some advice, especially from people who’ve studied at either university or are familiar with both campuses.
Here’s my situation:
My Dilemma:
Financially, La Trobe is the more affordable option, but I’m worried about missing out on the experience, networking, and resources that Melbourne offers. On the other hand, Deakin’s costs are higher, and I’m not sure if the extra expenses are worth it from an international student perspective.
So, my questions for those who’ve been through this:
Any insights, experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I’d love an answer ASAP since I’m planning to make this decision by tomorrow by paying the deposit to one of these universities.
i have created a whatsapp group for feb 2025 waurn ponds campus. https://chat.whatsapp.com/K4hKEjKpRry6Ab51GHN1aX
As title :)
Any help is appreciated!

Hi All, I’m planning on doing the diploma of health science at Deakin college in 2025. I would be doing the full time path. I am wondering if anyone knows what the timetable/ days/ class hours are?
Hey guys, yesterday I found a laptop charger in LC6.109, after the SIT774 workshop at Burwood campus (3-5pm). I am also posting the photo, please reach me out if it belongs to you or any of your friends.

Hi, does anyone have experience with being offered a place in the Master of Professional Psychology at Geelong Waterfront and can shed a light on the entry requirements?
The website is a bit vague and I would love some information regarding WAM, experience, etc and if it is as competitive as the Clinical program TIA
Hello everyone!
We are attempting to start a club at Deakin for next year called the Deakin Eco-Socialist Club.
Our focus is on progressive politics such as feminism, queer issues, anti-racism, anti-war, and the climate.
We need 20 names for an expression of interest form, we already have some but more would be great.
If you do choose to help us out all we need is your first name, contact details and student ID.
Putting your name down as an expression of interest is NOT an obligation to join, you aren’t committing to paying any money, and we will not use your contact info to pester you with emails.
If this does sound like something you'd love to be a part of you're welcome to join next year, but for now we’re just hoping to build up variety on campus, hold more events and help campus life get more active and activism focused!
If you’re keen to help us out please chuck us a DM!
Someone please tell me the difference between ms in data science and ms ds professional
