I applied for Lab med and nursing like September last year and I’ve gotten no notification about anything. Even my friends who have applied to competitive courses have either got an offer or a rejection notice so I’m just confused. I asked curtin connect but they said theres no specific date and wouldn’t even give me information regarding my application. Is anyone else in the same situation? Just getting really worried as school start soon
hi so i would be starting my diploma to Bachelors program in Feb so wanted to ask about chromebooks as i have a lenevo ideapad gaming 3 and its battery is bad 1 hour 30 mins max without charging and my classes are like 4 hrs so idk if Curtin College classes have sockets for charging in class so wanted to ask abput chromebooks are they good as my program is Diploma of commerce leading into Bachelors of Commerce major Business Information Systems (BIS) so idk if my program would require high storage windows only apps and will the chromebook be good for me so yeah need help
I have two units which have labs but they don’t occur every week. One occurs 3 times in the semester and the other occurs 5 times in the semester. How do I know which weeks the labs are?
Hey,
Did anyone do HUMB1001 and know if we need to purchase lab coats/glasses etc for this unit? Struggling to find this info anywhere as I don’t know if our lab class is just an anatomy class or an actual “lab”. If we do, how do we go about purchasing them?
Sincerely, a very stressed first year student 😅
I've never been to Curtin, but I'm doing my post-grad dip ed this year. I'm going to a few things on o-week, but is pre-orientation worth going to? It seems odd to have an orientation about ... orientation.
I am planning to take two weeks off from 27 th. I will be doing two units only. Would that cause any problems?
I'm doing another bachelors (chemical engineering). My previous bachelors (now called biomedical science I think) is also from Curtin. I really want to skip some of the unessesary first year units like engineering foundations 🤮. CRL webpage looks a bit complicated to me. It seems like I have to indicate which of my completed unit correspond to the current engineering degree. For those whom have experience switching from similar fields-how many of the first year engineering units can I potentially waive?
Hi! I graduated high school last year and now I’m going into curtin doing a double degree, engineering honours majoring in mechanical and a bachelor of commerce majoring in finance. Just wondering if anyone is doing the same one as me?
Wondering if anyone else missed out on a place in a competitive bachelor because they filled the course, apparently before processing the direct applicants?
I have a solid GPA for a completed degree which, according to most conversion tables, equates to an entrance rank of around 98-99. I also scored in the mid 90s for the prerequisite unit.
Applied middle of last year and was told my application was still awaiting review when I questioned it, after TISC applicants were already being offered places.
I’ve now had an email saying they can’t consider my application because the course is full.
Anyone else had their application “awaiting review” for months and now been told the course is full????
Honestly feeling pretty sad that I wasted my time doing the prerequisite unit if they weren’t going to be considering direct applicants at all.
Hey everyone,
I’m a mechanical engineering student currently struggling to choose the right specialisation. I want to pick one that aligns with my interests and career goals, but I’m feeling a bit lost.
I’d love to hear from people who have gone through this decision or are working in different fields of mechanical engineering. Any insights on job prospects, day-to-day work, and skills required would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!
So, I might be an International student of Curtin from June. I intend to get enrolled in Bachelor's of Civil Engineering and I've got the offer letter too. As far as I know, there's no scholarships for International students except the one time 25% scholarship on the first year fees. In a recent Australian Education Expo held in my country, I came to know from the representative of Curtin that they will provide 25% scholarship for the other years too if a student is able to get above 80%. I did not find any such information in the website.
So I'm a Curtin College student, just finished my first trimester. Today received an email from one of my UCs about an online meeting arrangement to discuss my final assessment submission. Note that, the email specifies nothing like AI detection. They just mentioned the date and time and asked me to prepare all my notes/ references/ draft copies of the assignment. I'm kinda confused in here. Any thoughts on this? Also any heads up regarding the meeting is highly appreciated from people who already went through the phase. Thanks in advance.
As someone who had their heart set on med, i’ve found it difficult to choose an undergrad. I am considering pharmacy and nursing, if anyone is in the same position i’d love to hear more about what you’ve chosen to do and why :)
postgrad entry vs course switching, best undergrad degree choice, etc.
As the title says, I haven't done any science since my Year 12 Biology and Chemistry classes, which were 22 years ago. I want to brush up on essential basic knowledge and I have access to ATAR textbooks and study guides to help me, but I don't want to waste time refreshing things I may not need to know (e.g. from ATAR Biology "Plant Adaptations for Stability").
So, what basics will I need to know to be able to properly understand the content in the above mentioned units? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
doing it next semester so just want a little advice on it. thanks
So basically I need to buy a laptop, I am currently doing electrical engineering. I currently don’t have a budget but anything above 2500 dollars is an overkill for me 💀💀💀
I'm a second-year international relations major, but this year, I'm starting a science degree, and 2 of my units this semester have labs. Is there anything important I need to know?
is it worth doing UI/UX as a specialisation, I am studying marketing and digital and social media and want to use my electives to my advantage. I feel like this would be a really great thing to really gain skills in this area and boost potential job prospects.
The issue is I may have to overload to complete some of the units as I am due to finish this year and some of the units aren't available in semester 2. Is it worth it and is it a generally hard thing to study and learn?? let me know
I’m starting my first year this year and I got an email that says I need to come into curtin for this compulsory orientation session few days before uni starts.
But it’s also during o-week so I’m confused. I know a lot of people never went to orientation, but did anybody actually go to this ‘compulsory orientation session’ thing lol.
I'm enrolling phys1006 as a bridging course to radiation science and have zero physics experience and a pretty basic maths background. I heard the lecturers aren't the best and that the in-person tests can be nerve racking. Is it a better choice to study this online if the irl experience isn't supportive?
I am an international student doing masters of teaching. This is my first study period first assessment and I failed in both the units. Is there something I can do like a resubmission or something?
I have actually mailed my professors asking for a revaluation.
Pls help and give advices as I am dying of anxiety.
Is it worthwhile to bring up a car? I’m worried it might get broken into in the car park. How is the drive to Kalgoorlie? The car is worth a decent amount too, so I’d hate for anything to happen to it. Is everything you need within walking distance?
did anyone else not get the option to purchase any guest tickets? i thought it was no big deal and id wait for the extra tickets to come but never received anything to purchase them so now i only have 2 complimentary tickets.
Hi, I’m currently in my third year as a mechanical engineering student and am deciding on a specialization. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options, but I’m particularly interested in AI and Machine Learning.
Has anyone here taken COMP3010, COMP1002, or COMP2009?
If you have, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience with these units. It would help me understand them better before making my decision. Thank you!
Hey everyone,
I’m starting bachelor of biomedical science this year and wanted to ask if a Mac would be a good laptop?
Thank you
Hi, Just checking if the Semester Final Exams for Physics 1006 is usually Open book Tests?
Is there any difference between this major with a previous one electrical and electronics.
For those doing this EE and CE major do you learn a bit of computer science module.
I wanna do computer science but kinda worry with the industry and job market but at the same time i still wanna do it. Im thinking to do double major of Electrical and computer engineering and computer science or would you think the EE AND CE by itself is good enough.
Double major, is it expensive?
Just wondering for those who have a portable air-conditioner at the Curtin accommodation which one is the best brand or what brand do you have that sufficiently cool the room at 40° days?
hey guys just checking for the bachelor of nutrition, since its under the faculty of health sciences, would the colour sash for graduation be the powder blue?
