Where to go for ANZAC day?

Hi all, First ANZAC day on the coast and was hoping to hear what everyone's go to is. I would have thought Gosford RSL would do a dawn service but I couldn't see anything on their website?

Otherwise (without sounding like too much of a pisshead) where can I expect a bit of a vibe for a beer and some two-up later in the day? I'm in the Gosford area but happy to travel to make a good day out of it.

Looking for Wood Kiln Service

Hey all, I'm looking for somewhere on the Central Coast that would be able to dry a few pieces of wood for me. It's only 3 120x30x10cm boards so it's not worth hiring a kiln. Does anyone know of anywhere around here that could do it? Thank you in advance!

Churches on the coast that are LGBTQ friendly?

Hi all, are there any churches on the coast that do not turn away LGBTQ peeps?

I am not looking for a lecture on how the bible does not support LGBTQ relationships. I am looking to support a young person who may be at risk.

They are a Christian and they are part of the LGBTQ community. Personally I believe these things can co-exist.

Need to support my wife financially so we don't have to live off the street.

I will be in Gosford next month. My wife has been living there for 2 years now and I will join her finally. As happy I am to unite with my wife, I am scared as well because we are not economically suffice. I think I would add financial burden to my wife being there, as she is the only one earning as of now.

It would be really helpful of anyone, if they could help me find a job or offer any kind of suggestions to attain financial support. I work as a B2B sales person in a tech firm in my home country, but as I don't belong to English speaking country, it will be very difficult to find sales job here in Australia(as per friends and colleagues).

Open to any kind of suggestions and role offering.

Monday night Trivia

I’ve seen a lot of Tuesday and Wednesday ones advertised… but any Monday night ones?

Also, thank you to the community. I’ve already asked a fair bit here and am grateful for people taking time to respond.

Is there a need for more private counsellors/psychotherapis in the Central Coast?

Hi there

I am a mental health clinician who is moving to the Central Coast shortly. I currently work for an organisation in Sydney however intend to move my work up here too. Ideally I would love to work for myself at some point, and was wondering if you as residents think that there's a need for more privately funded counsellors/psychotherapists in the Central Coast?

Thanks!

Gym in Budgewoi

Hello! Any gym folks here in Budgewoi? Staying for a couple of months and I'm planning to enroll in New Body Fitness due to its proximity. Is it worth it? Also pretty shy going alone and was wondering if the folks there are amiable. Thank you!

pink slip remote

I did a remote pink slip a few months ago as didn't have enough time to do a cheaper one. After that, for safety concerns, I took the car for a service to check everything.

Just wondering as the owner do I have any risks for doing the remote pink slip? Like get fined or any possible legal risks?

Thanks

HEMA, anyone?

I have been looking at getting back into a bit of swashbuckling. Does anyone know of any Fencing or Historical European Martial Arts clubs in the general vicinity of Gosford?

Closest so far seems to be Sydney or Newcastle, https://www.aushistoricalfencing.com/schools

Livable wage in Central Coast?

Hi everyone!

My company is looking at a potential international assignment in Australia, more specifically Central Coast (NSW) area where my company has a subsidiary. Did some digging and it seems they will probably offer me my current after tax salary even in the host country.

I'm very nervous since my salary is quite low even by my country's (Sweden) standards. My monthly gross wage is 5 408 AUD (1 248 weekly) and I net 4 116 AUD (950 AUD weekly).

I know that is very low by Australian standards so initially I thought there's no chance it could ever work.

However, it seems like my company could potentially arrange accomodation on their dime, but even then - would I be able to get by? I wouldn't want to accept an international assignment in such a nice place only to struggle to make ends meet and not be able to explore the country at all.

What is a liveable wage in that area if I had to pay for everything myself? I'm 30M, single with no kids.

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Mann street/Manns carpark - Gosford?

One of my friends (Female) is being picked up at Gosford in a few days and they have no clue where that is/what's the best way of getting there, so I'm posting on here so we can hopefully get a better sense of direction as maps are confusing us haha.

They're meeting a friend at the parking in Mann Street in Gosford (the one close to the station is what we've been told) and they were planning on catching the train to Gosford station but maps say's it is a 4-minute walk from the station at minimum and they're going there at around 4 am so for their safety they're considering driving so just we just wanted to know:

which parking on Manns Street is the closet to the station (if anyone has a name you can put it into Google Maps even better)

how close to the station is the parking Manns street?

is it safe to walk there at 4 am (as safe as it can be walking the streets at 4 am)

if they were to drive where the best parking on Manns Street is (paid or unpaid is fine)

Thank you so much in advance!

Recommend Roof Plumber or other trade to investigate a leak in close proximity to downspout. Wyoming

I seem to have a problem at my place where when we have these massive rains we get water leaking onto the gyprock ceiling and along a wall. It only ever happens when it's torrential rain eg. like yesterday. The location is about 50cms aways from a downspout

I've had a look above the roof and have found no obvious issues. In the ceiling space, without peeling any insulation, I only see a small patch where the plasterboard has gotten wet before.

I and my friends suspect it might be a downspout overflowing, but when I had my gutters cleaned 2 years ago, the fellow that came and cleaned out the gutters told me the gutters were relatively clean and that he could find no blockages. And on my non-professional inspection today, I couldn't see any blockage either. We also have gutter guards.

Is a roof plumber the kind of trade I would need to investigate this?

Do you guys know of any that you can recommend?

Best hospital to give birth in.

Hi everyone, we will be welcoming our first born in 3 months time. It is quickly approaching and we still don’t know which hospital we should be trying to chose for the birth. Any suggestions and experiences? Thanks and enjoy your weekend.

PS.: if you feel generous, throw in some boy names too.

PSA: wiper on = lights on

Got back from school run, poor visibility due to the rain and yet there are a lot of cars without the headlights on.

Please don't rely on the auto setting, they don't work well with rain. If your wiper is on, turn your headlights on.

Walk to Woy Woy Station- early morning commute- safety?

Hi all, we’re thinking of returning back to the Central Coast from Sydney after many years down here (originally from Gwandalan), and Woy Woy is the likely location due to needing to commute to Sydney daily for work. We would ideally like to live within 10 mins walk of the station to try and make the commute as easy as possible, and because house prices in that area are a bit more affordable.

I have read various things about Woy Woy and that it can be dodgy around Railway St, the plaza and the station area, so I’m wondering, how safe is it to walk to the station at around 5am? I know this is subjective but any overall info/advice/commentary is appreciated.

Does anyone here work for Eastcoast Beverages in Kulnura?

I saw they have some jobs available but can't find any employee reviews anywhere. Just wondering if anyone works there or has worked there and can provide feedback. They also don't advertise their wages but suggest they'll be asking potential employees what they would expect to be paid for these positions. Cheers!
