I’m just wondering about open day even if you aren’t based at Parramatta campus, do you still go or will there be seperate ones for the different campuses? TIA for any help!!
Does anyone here have a personal contact in WSU? I'm an international student who received an initial offer from the university to start in the March Intake and provided all necessary additional documents in early December. I haven't received a final unconditional offer from them, and my agent believes they may want to defer my studies. I've never been so confused and stressed in my life. I've already taken active steps to resign from my job and prepare to pack for the move. I'm scared and need help.
hi everyone, i’m a new student studying at wsu this year. does wsu charge tuition every semester or year? i checked my course fees and i’m confused on whether i owe them $4k for autumn term only or for just one year of my course
Hey I'm doing Bachelor of Acoounting and was wondering what kind of stationery I would need for the course, if I even need any in the first place. I got plenty of notebooks, highlighters, post-it notes as well as the basics. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Where can you change your major? I checked everywhere can’t find anything???
I’m a new student commencing into my first year , I made my account but did not pick a major at the time as I wasn’t sure, now I have decided what to pick but cannot find where to go and pick it???
Checked all of my western and my sr???
How long does the application process take to transfer from UTS to WSU? I submitted my application in early January and was told to expect 4 weeks. Was just told today that it's now another 3 weeks' wait. Is this wait typical for this time of year?
Anyone else annoyed by this? Those opal costs add up. Also the light rail stops on the other side of campus which is just a personal grievance
Hi everyone I’m looking to get back into university and there have been 2 courses that have caught my eye. One is a diploma in business in which I’m looking to major in finance and the other is diploma in IT in which I’m looking to major in cybersecurity. I just need some help on which one to choose regarding future, career outcomes, internship availability and possible job market/industry growth. Is there any good websites or personal advice that can help thanks.
How’s The Diploma of Business like? Is it hard or easy? Hows the classes like? Is there any free time? And how is living in parramatta like?
Hi everyone. I am a new student in western Sydney. I registered in the 2025-1H semester. My course starts in February and I will be doing medicine. When I want to choose my preferences in allocate+, it's in read only mode and I can't change them. Did I do anything wrong? Did I register the wrong semester?
is there a point in going to the open week if none of my classes are located in the parramatta south campus?
just for reference all of my classes are at campbelltown
Hi! How's the cs program here? Do employers look down on people graduating from uws? Most of the info I found here was from years ago so I was looking for some recent opinions. Saw someone saying the CS program hasnt changed since 2007 lol?? Is that true?
Im an international student and UNSW/USYD is too expensive for me :/ Id choose UTS but their cs degree is 4 yrs for intl students making it expensive as well :|
Hi! I’m starting my undergrad in psychology, if anyone has any resources or advice for that course or first years in general I’d really appreciate it. And how difficult is it to maintain a gpa high enough to get into the honours program?
Also if you’re starting psych at para south please feel free to dm me!
Hello! Because I graduated in 2021 I can no longer access any of the systems that will let see the subject outlines for the below four units
They're available in the library but you have to log in to the library to access them and I can't. I need them for an RPL request and would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance in getting PDFs of each subject outline.
Edited to add this link to search: https://library.westernsydney.edu.au/students/subject_essentials/subject_outlines
Is my timetable poorly done? Im new to this - it looks like I have three things on Tuesday at the same time… Should I be timetabling my subjects so that NO subjects are at the same time or near eachother?
hey guys I recently have just gotten another offer for wsu, but I have already accepted the other one through student portal. How do I accept the new one instead?
And another question as well, I’m really confused with the timetable and preference options in allocate, any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Hi everyone, I’m trying to enrol into PUBH3028 but when I enter this into the subject code or even the name when registering, nothing comes up?
This is my first time choosing class preferences. Am I supposed to choose a different time slot for every different subjects or tutorials or lectures (tabs on the left). For instance, if i put down 12pm as my first preference for OPTION 1, I can't choose 12pm for a different subject? I literally picked 12 pm as my first preference for every single subject but I feel like it will clash if thats the case? Sorry im new.
I've just completed registering subjects and subject time preferences. Am I fully enrolled now? Or are there remaining tasks I need to do?
Does anybody know when the orientation day for paramedicine is?
What date are timetables released? i’ve tried looking on the key dates page on the WSU website but i can’t seem to find when they come out.
how do u register for minor classes
very unrelated to wsu but what is the best/easiest note-taking app to work around (for ipad)? Im starting my first year this upcoming semester and I want to organise and prepare myself for my subjects in the best way possible.
Any recommendations would be great!
Hello!
I have got a place for law/business. Do these faculties run online invigilated exams? Like ProctorU? Or do you sit them in person?
Thanks in advance.
People enrolling into Bach of Business this year or that enrolled last year going onto their second year. On Allocate+ are/were your subjects for first semester only tutorials because that's all I can see at the moment.
My program includes an international placement component in the final semester. Prior to starting the placement, we paid a clinical training fee of approximately $2,000 AUD, calculated based on the currency exchange rate at the time. However, after completing the placement, we received an email from the program saying that we are required to pay an additional $100 AUD. This is because the overseas university providing the placement has only sent its tax invoice after placement, and due to the weakened AUD, students are being asked to cover the shortfall.
This came as a shock because we expected the amount we paid upfront to be final. At no point—either written or verbal—were we told or made aware that additional fees might be required after the placement. Also, the email stated that if the additional payment is not made, the program cannot finalize our marks and grades for graduation.
While the $100 is an amount I can manage, the lack of transparency and the retroactive imposition of costs are unreasonable. The placement was already a significant financial burden, and I couldn’t work during the placement and had to dip into my savings to manage expenses.
Just wondering whether my concerns are valid and whether anything can be done to address them. Should I raise this issue further, or is it better to just suck it up and pay the additional amount?
How is the bachelor of occupational therapy course in western sydney uni for an international student? I am an indian .how is the faculty and students and the facilities?

Hey all, We’re about to launch a platform that helps students/entry level professionals land their first job. This is done by having a dedicated job board for only entry level/grad programs/internships and a unique, market-tested profile that helps users showcase more about themselves than a standard resume allows. Furthermore, the website will have tons of free resources, as well as access to courses, AI tools, and coaches to help domestic and international students, entrepreneurs, those seeking financial advice, aspiring startup founders, and more.
We’re looking for someone at WSU to help promote the platform as we prepare for launch. This person should be fairly well-connected, understand the platform, want to help the student community, and be able to grow the number of users who sign up. This person should also be able to gather feedback about what other students need from the platform so we can evolve it to meet their needs.
What’s in it for you: Cash bonus for each user who signs up Flexible, non-demanding schedule (a few hours per week, however it suits you) Experience working in a startup in its early stages Equity bonus based on performance Free premium membership when it launches A job title working with us for your resume that works for you Potential full time job opportunity down the track
Please send me a message if you’re interested! I’ll share the link to the platform and we can chat a bit more. Thanks!
