Who assigns subjects after admission confirmation

I was wondering if the uni will assign subjects or we'll have to do that ourselves after getting visa, confused with the next steps.

Can someone give me clarity?

Looking for people to trial our business

Have you ever wanted to have a painting of your partner, a family portrait, your dog or whatever your favorite photo is? I always loved the idea of painting but unfortunately I'm not the best at it. A few months ago though a friend and I came up with a cool idea, what if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers. That way anyone can paint, anything they want.

We looked up custom paint by numbers and found a few Etsy stores selling them but they were way overpriced and most of them didn't even come with the canvas on a frame. So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers, eventually we managed to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed (you can still order them without a frame but we found most people want them ready to go out of the box).

Long story short though we're trying to grow and get more people talking about us. So we decided it would be a good idea to reach out to some local subreddits and hopefully you'll enjoy them enough to share your experience :)

You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early.

Engaging UTS electives?! Open to creative + environmental science

Hi, I'm currently swimming through the seemingly infinite amount of seperate pages for electives at UTS and can't locate anywhere that displays them in a good order.

Looking for an elective or two that will expand my creative side and another few related to the environment as I love hiking and want to understand more.

If you took an elective you loved, let me know!

Transfer to law

Hi, I’m currently doing a double degree in business and IT (1st yr) and was wondering if I am able to transfer to do law as replacement for business. I’m really interested and don’t like business all that much anymore, but don’t know how hard it will be or if I’m even able to reasonably get it. Was wondering if anyone can recommend some course of action.

Dropping a major

Hi guys, I just wanted some guidance. I’m studying mechanical & mechatronics engineering. So far I’ve come to realize that I am not one bit passionate about mechatronics and that I’m about to fail a subject (most likely). What happens if I fail the subject and Drop mechatronics completely?

UTS medical science (leave)

Hi… soo i have a question and i cant really find the answer to it. I am currently studying in UTS college semester 3 and will be going UTS next year into 2nd year of medical science.

My family is planning to travel around January-February and coming back around march. The dates are not confirmed yet. (Its for 2025) Does someone know when classes will start for UTS medical science? And if they start during my trip, is there anyone I can study online? I know the course has practical classes which is why im very concerned. Like will I be able to do them online? Maybe for 4 weeks i think.

Thank youu

Easy Subjects

Hi, could anyone confirm if these subjects are easy enough to get a HD? Are the percentage of students that get a D/HD in these subjects relatively high compared to other subjects?:
36201 Arguments, Evidence and Intuition
54002 Communicating Differences
54098 Becoming Australia

Thanks.

Subject enrolment : seeing this error for many subjects “No availabilities exist for 32569/1 (Spk code, Spk ver no)”

Hey everyone, I’m joining MIT(extension) 2025 and as I was enrolling for the subjects, I saw this error a lot. Does this mean these subjects aren’t running anyone? Also my submajor is Data Analytics and 2 of the subjects in the options are maxed out, 2 gives the above error, one of those is the view core subject of my major, and the other i’ve always selected. I’m left with no subjects to . What do i do? Can i file an e-request? It says e-request is only for core subjects!

UTS master of data science and innovation

I plan to apply for the MDSI program, and I’m wondering if it will be difficult for someone without a background in the field to graduate. Since I am receiving government support for my graduate studies, my goal is to graduate without a heavy academic burden.

Computer Science exchange subjects advice

Hi all, I am a 3rd year CS student coming to UTS in February for an exchange. I recently posted about getting some help for choosing the classes that my home university requires for my upcoming exchange which I have now sorted - I chose 4140 introduction to Artificial Intelligence , 41889 Application Development in the IOS environment and 48450 Real time operating systems. I still have 6 credits left, meaning one class left to choose. I have sorted my 3 required classes, so I can now choose any extra class I want.

I'm looking to get some advice on the subjects I've chose - are they difficult? Any tips? I'm also looking to see if anyone has any recs on an extra subject to choose that they enjoyed? I'd like to maybe learn a new programming language, or get some experience with robotics as my home university doesn't offer anything like this.

For context - I am an intermediate in Java. Also have experience in SQL, web dev, Haskell and MIPS. Have experience in C, but wouldn't mind getting some more. Never done Python but have experience in oop anyways so can understand it mostly. Ive studied discrete mathematics and data structures/algorithms also. I'm looking to get an internship for the upcoming summer (in my home country, but will be Australias winter) so maybe a cool class that will stand out in interviews, or be useful for an SE internship? Thank you all!

Credited subjects?

Hey guys, I am considering to do a diploma at tafe for graphic design than transferring into the bachelors at UTS for visual communications. I was wondering if my subjects at tafe would get credited so I wouldn't do them at my bachelor's? because I know if I do my diploma at uts, some subjects would be knocked off in my bachelors since I have done them in my diploma. Would that be the same case for me if I got my diploma at TAFE?

Questions about CS/security IDeA

I want to get work experience as I study but unsw doesn't really provide much support for that.

I wanted to know what the IDeA program is like, is this actually good or do you just have to do a bunch of boring unpaid work?

I would love to hear about this course from recent students :^]

Is it possible to transfer to Bachelor of Advanced Science (Pharmaceutical Science) from Bachelor of Advanced Science (Pre-med) UTS?

Hi,

So I have been admitted to pre-med however after a while of consideration I realised I was more interested in the pharmaceutical area. Because of this I was wondering if there was any way I could switch to pharmaceutical sciences instead.

ATAR for IT

Hi, If anyone is doing a Bachelor of IT from UTS this year, can you please let me know what ATAR you needed to get accepted? I can only see the selection rank online. I did not receive early entry, but I know I will receive 2/3 bonus points for subject band and maybe EAS (not sure yet). However, I'm not sure what I should aim for to have guaranteed entry.

Course Completion Confirmation / Conferral

Hi all,

I'm on track to graduate this semester but I'm needing a Testamur/Grad certificate before I am able to start work. I had a look on the grad faqs, but there isn't anything about when conferral will happen for spring.

Does anyone know when this will be ready or if it can be requested when results are out?

Thanks :)

GSH interview

I've been invited for a GSH interview on zoom day-after-tomorrow. I'm really nervous and stressed now. I've applied for Master of Physiotherapy and I'm an international student, I was not expecting this invite this late into the applications tbh.

If someone could tell me regarding the interview and what to expect or even some pointers, it would be great!

Thank you in advance :)

I can't study for my exams, what should i do?

I have exams coming up for 2 subjects that I failed before, I feel very overwhelmed and paralysed by fear, I can't even focus on concepts that I've studied before. I can't calm my brain down. I'm full on panic mode. I think I'm gonna fail again. I'm already embarrassed for failing what are considered first year easy subjects. I never thought this would happen to me before the exams and i think my brain is gonna go blank during the exams. Do you think emailing my professors or subject coordinator is a good idea? Or is it not their responsibility? I'm probably late to ask for help but I never thought this would happen.
