is Nooj Pub a rite of passage or something?

SO many cars in the south east have the Nook Pub bumper sticker. Driven through the area a couple of times. and it was pretty, sure. But its got almost like a cult following. Am I missing something?

Gippsland Rhythm & Blues Club jam session on Sunday (24/11)

If you like blues music or know someone that likes blues but doesn’t know the blues club exists, the Gippsland Rhythm & Blues Club November jam is on this Sunday (24/11) at the Yallourn Newborough RSL (30 Darlimurla Avenue, Newborough)

It’s free entry and starts at 2pm and finishes at 6pm

The club provides 3x guitar amps, bass amp, Drum kit and a PA, you just bring your guitars, basses, harps etc.

It’s also the clubs 27th anniversary and their last jam session for 2024.

http://www.facebook.com/grbcinc if you want to find out more.

The RSL is a licensed venue, so no BYO drinks. But you can bring your own snacks. There is no kitchen

Best gym in Traralgon?

What’s the best gym in Traralgon — free weights and machines — for bodybuilding. And that’s also has women’s classes for my partner who’s into that.

The spud shed

Have you guys been to the spud shed? We stop by regularly to get bread, milk and maybe dinner ingredients once or twice a week. I’ve noticed that they have some expensive imported snacks, canned goods and a really good, albeit expensive, selection of vegan food. We purchase some of these things sometimes but they have a lot of stock and I wonder how long the stuff is sitting on the shelves.

Things to do in and around Traralgon

Hello! I’m visiting Traralgon from Sydney to complete professional placement for Uni until Saturday.

I wanted to know what the locals do in terms of after work activities and staying entertained.

Especially keen to hear from anyone around the 19-25 age group or anyone who may be keen to show me around.

21, Male :)

New Gippsland-only job board – would love your thoughts!

Hey Gippslanders!

I recently launched something I think our region has been needing: gippslander.com.au, a job board that’s 100% dedicated to Gippsland! I’ve always thought Gippsland deserves its own place for job listings, rather than getting lost in statewide or Melbourne-focused sites.

Why create Gippslander?

Basically, I wanted to make it easier for people in Gippsland to find local jobs without wading through listings that aren't even close to here. Whether you’re in Warragul, Bairnsdale, or over in Wonthaggi, the goal is to keep everything local – local jobs for local people. Plus, it should give businesses around here a direct way to reach out to people who actually live in the area.

What do you think?

I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think! What would make this site useful for you? Are there features you'd like to see? I’m still building it up, so any feedback would be awesome.

Also, if you’re job hunting or hiring, feel free to give it a spin and let me know if it’s helpful. My goal is to make it a solid resource for the community, so I’m all ears!

Thanks heaps, and looking forward to hearing your thoughts! 🌱

Seeking opinion

Hi all,

I am planning to buy a used car from Valley Motor Group in Traralgon. I would like to know if they are a good dealership and has anyone faced any issues or concerns with regards to the used car purchased from them.

Thanks.

Difference between M road and A road?

Driving from Melbourne to Gippsland the highway changes it's designation from M1 to A1 just after Traralgon, even though the conditions of the road remain the same

Out of interest, does anyone actually know the difference between an M road and an A road, and what differentiates them?

Hello people of (east) Gippsland, campground recommendation needed please

Hi 👋 me, my wife and our 9month are RV’in Sydney to Melbourne in late November. We’re mostly staying 2 nights at a time in .gov campsites off grid and near fishing spots. For two nights in the east Gippsland area we’re looking for a campground/campsite/RV park that we can stay 2 night that has a pool and a bar- or one close enough that we can walk to a restaurant after cooking our own meals for a week. Thinking somewhere between Bairnsdale and Maffra, and not too far off the main route to Melbourne. Close to a river/fishing a bonus but not needed.

Thanks in advance if anyone know a spot!

Weekend trip in Inverloch

Hello!

In the next couple of weeks my partner and I are planning to stay for one night (Saturday-Sunday) in Inverloch or as close as possible to Inverloch.

So, if you were doing a similar weekend trip, what are your must do's that you would include? Where is a good place to stay that is not too overpriced?

Some things to know:

- we don't want to camp, but happy to stay anywhere as long as there is parking for one car. Even a nice caravan park that has cabins available for two people.

- we want to go bike riding at some point. What are some nice trails that are relatively easy/relaxing?

- nice cafes, restaurants, bakeries that we should put on our list.

- any popular attractions or day/saturday night activities we can do.

Thanks!
