I found some nice sport shoes but I suspect that they are always reduced regularly and I don't want to buy for the sake of it.
Is there a particular website or Web extension people use or suggest?
As in the history of the price that has been advertised
Cheers
Hi, I have made a call to eventually reduce my car-dependent commutes/parking and grocery runs, and move to a more frugal bike commute option.
I haven't owned a bike since I was a kid, but I'd eventually like to be able to own a bike for multi purpose tasks - something that handles a 22km each-way work commute (most of it being creek trails to the CBD), use it to lug around groceries if needed in Pannier bags, and get some leisure/recreation/fitness with it too.
Are there any hidden gem brands I should be on the lookout for as I go through online listings? What type of wear and tear is manageable with DIY and affordable replacement parts, and what type of damage would I want to avoid? Thanks folks!
For those that have Amazon prime, you can pick up 2 years of door dash pass for free. Meaning you’ll save on delivery fees a bit if you already use it. Not exactly frugal but handy for those of us who do use it.
I got a prompt opening the Amazon app on my smart tv and was given a qr code to scan.
TIA
Looking for a one of those vac/mop robots. Dream LS10 pro. sub $1,279

Does Boxing Day has more discounts in fragrances than current Black Friday Sales in CWs as well as others?

Anyone know the best way to get cheap flights without necessarily using a points from credit cards or other frequent flyer type programs?
I’m specifically looking for flights from Brisbane to Townsville as it always seems expensive like mid 400s to even 500 plus unless you book pretty far in advance. Is there a way to get flights for cheaper?
Is it possible to somehow get seats that didn’t fill on a flight that is about to leave for cheap?
edit: it seems like you can't actually do this. Leaving the post up in case it helps anyone with the same question.
So, apparently, you can get 20x points at Woolies on Apple cards: https://www.reddit.com/r/AusGiftCardDeals/comments/1gzcau8/20x_everyday_rewards_points_on_apple_gift_cards/
Am I correct in thinking that I can buy $2000 of Woolies gift cards with the normal 3% discount and then use those $2000 to buy $2000 of Apple cards which I could then cash in for an iPhone?
Effectively, spend $1940 in cold hard cash and end up with an iPhone (16 Pro 256GB, RRP $1999) + $200 in Woolies credit (and 1 unused dollar in Apple bucks... or go for variable amount cards and buy exactly $1999). I'm planning to buy that exact phone anyways, so it's not a case of spending more because of a deal. Woolies is also where I do most of my shopping, so that $200 credit will be put to good use in short time.
It feels fishy, but I can't pinpoint why it wouldn't work. Only reason I haven't done it yet is that I would prefer not to find myself stuck with $2000 of Apple cards that I won't use for anything else if they refuse to accept them for the iPhone.
Melbourne sweltering this week and I need a tint for my Corolla, could someone please suggest cheapest window tinting service?
Alternatively I can go for $11 Kmart window shades, but it covers only back windows.

Hi, I'm looking to get a better vacuum and will be doing some cleaning work so it will be used a lot.
I've heard the bagged ones work better than the baglesss, but costs of bags (and replacing hepa filter) add up.
I need a small one as will be carrying from car into homes.
Any recs?
Thanks!
Suggestion please. Thanks
Hey guys,
I'm a student who was spoiled rotten on takeout food. But it's super expensive to order in food here. So I'm looking for some frugal recipes that don't take up too much prep time and is nutritional enough to keep me going
Additionally, I want to also start gym so I want to be able to balance my diet around having enough protein in my meals if possible.
Not so good at budgeting but I'm thinking of hitting 150$ per week at max on food (would prefer lower if possible)
Cost of living is through the roof and I would love some helpful tips to save money on all aspects. Please give me your tips. I'm struggling financially in everyway now 😔. I have a mortgage, cannot move back home as they live overseas, my mortgage repayments are slightly less than rent prices, I don't want to move from where I am now. Anyone have helpful everyday around the house hints that would save money.
I noticed that the price of the same sized can of coconut milk at Coles ranges from $1.10 up to $3.90, depending on the brand. Obviously that’s a huge price difference.
I’ve learned through experience that with some products (e.g. pesto) it’s worth paying for the more expensive brand because the flavour is so much stronger / better.
What about coconut milk? Does it matter in your experience?
I'm looking for some furniture and Costway is the first place I found with good options and free shipping, it almost seems a little too good to be true. I'd assume it's Temu level shit but product review sites rate it well and it has an IRL location. Anyone have experience with stuff from Costway?
EDIT: they list themselves as a wholesaler so even tho they have an IRL location it could be similar to drop shipping. Also the product review sites give great reviews but google reviews are all bad. It's a little sus
EDIT 2: yup, it's just another reseller of the countless generic products out there:

Can anyone recommend a site with good prices and shipping for household furnishings like shelves and cabinets?
Looking at purchasing a new 3 seater sofa to replace my 3 year old IKEA one which has sagged SO much that it causes back pain to sit on. Terrible, terrible purchase in my opinion.
I saw Koala and Ecosa have great sales, was considering their options but want some honest opinions from folk who may have used them for atleast 2 + years so that I dont have to kick myself again.
Thank you in advance. Cheers!
Edit: Thank you everyone for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it. I have decided to steer clear of the Koalas and Ecosas, looking at everyone's general experience. Will possibly look at the old school furniture places. Fingers crossed!
There are a couple things I need to buy that I've been waiting until the Black Friday sale to get, and there's so many sites that I'll have to sift through and compare prices so I just wanted know which places say they have a "sale" but really it's just regular prices so I can waste less time searching for items. Looking for names of stores/websites that have a history of doing the classic sale scam of marking up the normal prices and then on a sale it's just the recommended retail price and not discounted at all.
I've never done Black Friday shopping before so it'll be helpful to know, thanks :) and also let me know which places are actually good to buy from, I'm specifically looking for places that sell electronics as I'm wanting to get a robot vacuum, computer monitor & microphone.
Oil for furniture, both indoor and outdoor, is very expensive - at least to me.
Does anyone have some suggestions for controlling costs? I’m not looking for food grade oils, just Scandinavian / teak oil for indoor and outdoor furniture.
Thanks!
I want to buy cheaper milk than at Colesworth is it possible for me to buy milk cheaper from farm gates direct or from nearby local grocers in rural townships? EDIT: I want to be clear the title says pasteurised milk. I don't mean raw milk.
Hey anyone know of a good company that has good prices for exporting solar energy, I currently get 10c per kw unlimited exports but that plan runs out soon and can’t seem to be able to renew that plan, all the new ones seems like after you export 14kw that pay you bugger all.
Looking for a reasonably priced portable air conditioner

The Priceline sister club Village Cinemas voucher where there’s a 40% discount on the ticket. The website looks fine but I feel like it’s sketchy bcs if I buy the ticket from the sister club then how do I know my seats and stuff
I’ve always had the idea that buying a new sim card and utilising the different phone number with different food delivery apps sign up or referral offers (for example with doordash using my main account to refer the new account) could be a good way to get really good deals on delivered food for cheap. Has anyone tried this? I bought a cole’s sim for $2 and put it in my old spare phone but realised that a top up is required for full activation but looking online it seems as if I could get one for as cheap as $10 that has data which I assume means it’s activated providing me with a number to use while signing up to different sites. Just trying to see if this would be a good shout and is viable considering the current state of supermarket/food prices.
Is there anywhere in Perth that I can buy damage furniture or floor stock? Like a nick scadi table that has some minor damages at a discounted price ? Where do they sell all there slightly damage furnitures? Or do they discard it
I have been making my own deodorant for many years and have been reusing an old 'Natural Scents' 100ml bottle.
I use a teaspoon to remove the ball to refill, so the plastic is a little loose and the ball sometimes falls into the lid, but its usually fine as the refill mix is thick and holds it in.
You can find 'Natural Scents' 100ml deodorant in some chemists for $12 for most of the varieties, and $15 for sandalwood and another one.
I have looked around for refillable roll-on bottles online over the years, but they are very hard to find, or too small, or very expensive.
Today in Coles I saw the Thank You brand has 50ml refillable plastic bottles for $15 that come filled, and they also have amber glass/white glass empty bottle for $18, also 50ml. You just screw the tops off to fill.
Refills are 100ml for $18, so two refills for the 50ml bottles.
At $9 a refill they don't really compete in price with other 'throw away' brands at $3.50-$4.00 for 50ml (men's and women's), but you could keep the $15 plastic bottle once finished, and refill it yourself.
Coles regularly has specials of the $15 bottles down to $10.45, so keep an eye out if interested.
Here's how I do it:
Woolworths//Coles Aloe Vera Gel (After Sun) 200ml - $5.
The Woolworths one has a strong fragrance, but it can be masked if it offends.
Essentials oils: usually about 40-50 drops for my 100ml bottle (probably about 80ml with a space to shake it).
I use cedarwood (a good masculine scent), rosemary, eucalyptus.
Water.
I used to also add witch hazel liquid as an astringent, but now I just put in some eucalyptus solution (alcohol with 20% oil): about 1-2 teaspoon s(5ml-10ml).
I fill the bottle about half way with the aloe vera gel, add the oils and eucalyptus solution and some water, replace the ball and lid and give a good shake. Add some additional water without thinning it too much. You want a loose gel consistency, close and shake again.
100ml (really 80-85ml) lasts about 4-6 weeks. I use it twice a day.
If anyone has any other sources of larger roll-ons (100ml is better so there's less refilling), let us all know.
Update: Aliexpress has 30/50/60/80/100 ml screw on refillable roll on bottles for $1.54 (free shipping):
Thanks to 'FollowYourFate' Reddit person for suggesting trying Ali-Express/Temu etc.
I love this recipe. So cheap and easy, especially if you have made and frozen your own chicken stock from cheap chicken frames…
