Talking walks in the local parks are always a win for me. And museums and art galleries (sometimes they have a cost but I'm willing to pay since they don't cost too much)
My personal recommendations:
Visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens in the respective states/territory. Been to the ones in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Canberra - all fantastic
Exploring the Daintree Rainforest in QLD
The free museums in Canberra (ACT), plus Royal Mint and National Arboretum
What is a referral code/link?
Referral links is a unique URL used in a referral program to track and reward people for sharing a product or service. In many cases, both the referer and the referee (the one who uses the referral code) will benefit from this.
All referrals that are not meal kits AND cashback referrals are to be posted here to keep clutter off the sub, and in an effort to keep it high quality and actually useful.
================================================
This is the Megathread for all other referrals excluding meal kits/food box and cashback programs (as these two already have their dedicated Megathread).
This Megathread will refresh monthly on day 1.
If you are looking for any referrals, this is the place to ask.
Please clearly indicate any instructions, bonuses for both the referred and referee and any caveats.
Please note that referral links about making money (ie: crypto) will be removed.
Savings accounts and survey referrals are an exception and hence, these referrals are allowed on this Megathread.

What is cashback?
Cashback is when you receive a credit back to your account. For example, when you make a purchase, you may get a fixed amount or a percentage of the amount you paid returned to your account.
Essentially, cashback programs give you cash back when you make an eligible purchase at a participating retailer. They work a bit like a piggy bank – you could earn a little bit of cash each time you shop online, which adds up over time.
For example, Cashrewards is a cashback program that is free to join and offers a wide range of popular retailers, including food and grocery providers like Menulog, online marketplaces such as Amazon, and travel sites like Booking.com. There are often great deals for everything from everyday products to big-ticket items like furniture and appliances from popular brands like Koala and Bing Lee. Your furry friends are even covered with Petstock!
Some of our users are big fans of Cash Back apps! Example of Cashback program includes: Cashrewards, Shop Back, and Top Cash Back.

Not sure if this the right subreddit to ask, but couldn't find a popular subreddit related to recipes/cooking and Australia.
Recently I ordered beef and rice from a Lanzhou Noodle Bar on Elizabeth Street, Melbourne and they included a small container of beef soup. I am guessing it's the same broth they use for the noodle soup. And I can't seem to get it out of my head.
Can anyone here share any recipes of replicating this at home without buying a crazy number of ingredients? Even if any packaged soup comes close to this I am happy to try them out.
I'm currently on my parents' insurance plan with HCF. Trying to find other alternatives since I had to pay a massive gap fee recently for a procedure. I have a health care card as well since I receive youth allowance.
Hey I have a Nokia 3210 so I don't need data really, but I do need some darn good coverage due to travelling around but I also need to be able to call if an emergency happens as I'm prone to anaphylaxis.
Any suggestions?
Tried a few, they all seem decently affordable and I like the (hopefully) more fresh produce as well as supporting local farmers. But I'm not sure if the value is really there. Can anyone recommend any that are truly good bang for your buck?
girlies i am after sports bras that won't break the bank and also has a clasp at the back. none of this wriggling in and out of it nonsense. i have put on weight recently and the bonds outlet store has the worlds worst sizing and generally has just gone to the dogs. what are my other options please and thank you!! i've checked out my local opshops but i'm a bit iffy on secondhand bras and none have been in the type of condition that i'd actually consider buying haha.
Helloooo as the header says, any recommendations on good quality but on the cheap side contact lens. I’m currently on dimple, thought it was good but after using for awhile it’s just okay.
I am very keen on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 512gb and want to find the best deal on it. Reebelo and Boost mobile have the best price (+ reliability from reviews I could find). Is there a difference between the two? Should I trust buying from one of these sites? Is there somewhere with better deals I should try?
I also plan to wait a few months hoping the price will drop across the board.
Hi everyone, What subscriptions does everyone have or not have. What subscriptions do you deem a reasonable expense?
Doesn't have to be cheap stuff. It can be an expensive item which lasts a long time and saves you money in the long haul, or something that results in better life quality.
My coffee machine and french press (Bodum brand) have lasted for 5> years and saved me from going out for coffee (except special occasions).
Looking at options for extras insurance for myself and two kids that covets optical and dental - are there any plans where we would come out ahead?
I haven't had my own insurance for a long time as wasn't worth it, but worth revisiting now at least one kid needs glasses and they both have a more expensive dentist.
I believe that being frugal is great but there's nothing wrong with treating yourself every now and then.
People of Parramatta, what would be the best value for money meal at Westfield? In terms of price to quantity.
We were with tangerine for 6 months utilising their new customer discount and it was GREAT. Discount ended so we’ve moved to Mate and despite having the ‘same speeds’ the reception is terrible.
Any good new customer deals out there? We unfortunate need speeds around 100 so I know it won’t be the cheapest plan out there but we’re still hoping for a good option.
I'm with Kogan last year an 12-month $120 prepaid deal which ends in Feb. Was happy until the holidays, when it became apparent that data coverage reduces to zero outside any big settlement.
Didn't travel far from Melbourne, just Great Ocean Road & Gippsland, but data was basically dead on M1 westward from Geelong in the first instance, and on A1 east/south of Traralgon in the second.
In Gippsland calls and texts worked fine but not data - weird 'cause other people with Vodafone (which backs Kogan) had the data. Did I miss the fine print somewhere? There was no data even in bigger settlements like Loch Sport
In a nutshell, looking for a deal that will get me covered in the regions too, happy to pay a bit extra for that.
Hello,
I've bought backpacks from Kmart and Big W before to keep expense down but even those backpacks on sale have terrible zips. They eventually end up broken or gets difficult to open and close.
What cheaper backpack do you recommend? Looking for ones with strong, reliable zips that are durable.
I'd like a backpack that will last a lifetime.
Thank you
If you are an Ingredients household, is Aldi still cheaper than Woolies. No meat purchased at either.
I get 14% off each time I shop at Woolies, would Aldi still be cheaper?
Like the title says, in my course I'm not going to be doing too much coding other than a few courses that I'm taking so anything with a GPU would probably be unnecessary. I'm still looking for a laptop that has good battery life and can handle all my processes and studying 20/30 chrome tabs excellently with no issues.
I'm open to refurbished/used models but would prefer new products just because I may have a possible student discount with major brands like dell, hp, Lenovo.
Right now I'm looking at the dell Inspiron 15 model 3520, which from the dell website is normally $898.70 but I get a 25% student discount so it goes down to around $670
Main reason why I'm looking at it is the 1tb ssd, 16gb dd4 ram, and the i7-1255u CPU (I'm looking at the upgrades version). Only reason I haven't bought it yet is the supposed hinge issues, battery life and heating issues.
I will not be playing playing any major games other than things like hollow knight/Minecraft occasionally (basically low demanding games)
If anyone has been in my situation or has helped other people in my situation it would be greatly appreciated if I could get some advice. While my budget is $1200 I'll like to ideally spend less than that but if I must go a little over I am willing as long as it's a great reason.
If the information Ive provides is lacking please just ask what info you may need as any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hi, I’m looking for an eSIM or SIM carrier that has good data plans. I only call or text message not very often. It’s mostly for data because I WhatsApp or FaceTime my family. Has anyone looked around and found what’s most affordable? I’m open to all suggestions. Thank you!
Trying to lose some weight, I recently bought 34 diet shake sachets (add skim milk and ice in a blender for a 200 kcal meal replacement) while they were half off at Coles and found it really good. Sadly I didn't stock up more while they were on special and now they're expensive.
Anyone know of any options elsewhere that are in the <$2/serve range when bought in bulk, or know of cheap bulk ingredients for making them? Like flavoured protein powders, or plain protein powders and cheap separate flavorings, filling fibrous seeds to bulk it out, etc? I'm not really a fussy one for flavor, I mainly just need to keep myself full on a budget without adding calories.
When I google this I mostly get discussions about workout protein shakes, but what I'm after is low-cal filling shakes, any other nutritional stuff is just a bonus.
Its twice as fast, and in some cases, can save up to nearly a quarter if the price.
Whats the difference? Why should I stick with NBN?
And why are those "super fast 500mb/s, $30 per month" plans not available at my place. What am I missing, and can I upgrade?
IInet is a prime example of this https://www.iinet.net.au/internet-product/broadband/nbn/plans/fibre

Recently, my upper abdomen and stomach have been swelling up after having some milk-based drinks and yogurt. It's becoming painful to walk around with the bloat and I reckon it might be due to me eating dairy.
I love milk and yogurt though, can't get enough of either, but I thought maybe going lactose-free might help me out.
What are your cheaper alternatives for lactose-free milk and yogurt? I have a Coles, Woolies and IGA in my vicinity to shop from (no Aldi unfortunately). Any suggestions for products from these places?
Thanks!
Edit: thank you so much for the helpful comments! My body can't deal with soy products either so I'll give some of the lactose-free milk suggestions a go as well as Lacteze :)
Hi! I am 19 going onto 20 this year and am planning to move out with a friend in 2-3ish months and am wondering just how do you do it financially? I’d be paying $225 a week for 2 rooms to myself and my own bathroom in the house we’d share and I earn anywhere from $500-$900 a week, though I usually stay around $500-$650 but due to being on holidays from university I can work more. I have no real idea how much bills can cost for 2 people, and I only have 3.2k saved. I also pay $100 a month to go to gym at snap fitness, and also pay for Spotify $7 and then any gaming or streaming services I may use and then cancel when I’m not. My biggest expenses are my 2.3k car insurance and $770 rego. I’m really afraid financially and have no idea just how to handle this all. I want to be able to live, work, study and also try save for my future. Does anyone have any tips or advice? I want to become better with my money and learn ways to save as much as I can/know the cheaper alternatives to turn to
I hear Huggies is the best to buy for baby. Is this true?
