Adelaide to Darwin

Driving to D-town from Adelaide in a few days time. Stopping via Coober Pedy, Alice, Daly Waters. Any tips? Anything to avoid? Any must-sees along the way? Thank you :)

Is it safe place for Indians?

Hey guys , as title says I've been searching a bit for my masters of laboratory medicine in Australia and only three universities in whole Australia have accredited programs Tasmania , RMIT , CDU and I CDU seems to be cheapest between them but after checking it out Isaw that there are many "unsafe" articles about it on internet I don't really believe those articles so wanted to to ask locals? And is it affordable place where I can work , live and study?

Affordable dentist

I refuse to pay for a PHI (i prefer to pay the mls and help out a bit on our healthcare system) but would like to get some fillings that wouldn’t cost an arm and leg. Any reccos? How much do they charge?

Street sign

Was stop on this intersection. Was that mean I can turn left even in the red light? Never seen this sign before. Thanks

To the Darwin newbies - it's not the next bombing of Darwin

It's the Kalymnian Greeks commemorating the resurrection of Jesus with dynamite.

Sleep well!

Best suburb to live in if transplanting from Sydney.

As title suggests. I’m moving from Sydney at the end of this month or maybe early June.

I’m well aware the climate is completely different in Darwin. However, which suburb would have the closest similarities to Sydney?

I’m worried I will miss Sydney a little as I was born and raised here.

Also, my hobbies are rock climbing and late 80s action comedies ie Down Periscope etc.

Serious lack of seafood places

How can somewhere like darwin that’s surrounded by oceans and yummy things in it, have a real lack of seafood options ? A decent fresh simple seafood grill place would be insanely popular.. what am I missing? Is there a seafood mafia here I don’t know about? 🐠

Please help my midwifery assignment!

Posting on behalf of my wife

Hi all, My name is Ash I am currently doing my masters in midwifery and doing a study on induction of labour (ethics approval number 6093). This study aims to explore how first time mums were educated on the process and how they felt about induction overall.

Inclusion criteria: Given birth in Australia within the last 12 months, over the age of 18, not currently pregnant.

If you or anyone you know have had your first baby through an induction, regardless of the reason why or way you have given birth, I would love to hear about your experience. I have created a survey you can fill in below. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Something happened at the Mantra

I don't have an account with the NT news or Herald Sun so I can't see the rest of this story.

From what I heard someone has fell/jumped from the Mantra hotel.

Does anyone know any information?

Tips for the trip?

My wife and I are relocating from the border of New South Wales and Victoria. We head up at the end of May and we are going via Alice Springs in a hybrid RAV4. Does anyone have any tips to make the drive safe?

Is it true that privately-built homes fared better in Tracy?

I read somewhere that a majority of the homes in Darwin back in 1974 were government-built, and failed catastrophically during Tracy. However, a minority of homes were privately built by their owners, and a good number of those homes held up quite well.

Is this true?

Mobile detection cameras

Are there any mobile detection cameras in Darwin? It seems everywhere I go every third person is using their phone while driving.

Help! Seeking recommendations for day tours in Kakadu

Hello! I'm planning a trip to the Top End for 15 days in mid-June and would love some tour recommendations. I'll be renting a 2WD campervan and exploring Litchfield, Katherine, and Kakadu. Specifically, I'm keen on seeing Jim Jim Falls in Kakadu, but since it's only accessible by 4WD, I'm thinking of joining a day tour. Unfortunately, I haven't found any tours with reviews, so I'm hoping fellow Redditors might have suggestions. I'm also considering a flight over Jim Jim, but I'm unsure if it's worth it during the dry season. I’ve heard that the yellow water cruise is great so I am considered booking this as well. Any other tour recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
