I noticed this new backyard resident today. Can I rejoice that someone will be feasting on mosquitos our should I worry?
Can someone set me straight on how NSW pool is supposed to be played? The general rules for playing at a pub?
Example: I've always known that if the opponent misses hitting their ball or hits your ball by mistake then the you get 2 shots. But some players have argued against that. Some have said this is a QLD rule.
Generally the way I play is that someone breaks (flip coin):
Whoever sinks one particular type first (stripes or solids) must play that type
If you sink your type of ball, you get another go
If you miss hitting your ball or hit the other players ball -> 2 shots to the other player
If you sink someone else's ball -> 2 shots to the other player
If you are down to the black (8) ball and sink the cue ball you lose the game
If you sink the cue ball then the other player can set it up anywhere on the line and must strike forwards and hit their ball
Missed anything?
Hi everyone, Quick question Does anyone have any recommendations for a car park that stays open past 11pm and I can quite easily get a park in the middle of the day? Looking around central station/ultimo/chinatown. Bonus points if it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
I just woke up to find all these very small bugs on my kitchen cabinetry, they’re everywhere! We have fly screens but they’re so small that they could easily have gotten through. What are they? Has anyone else experienced this overnight?

Looking for recommendations for a shop that’s able to diagnose electrical/component issues.
Not boot up windows and check device manager. Have a graphics card issue with laptop..
Ideally north shore/beaches - but happy to travel if needs be.
Thanks!
I didn't realise that Apple has image cars driving around like the Google car but I saw one today
Like the title says, they're all of liver my wall near a vent and some have come down onto my bed. They're tiny, so this was the best photo I could get. They're less than 1mm in size
Shout out to the local grocers that was near the train station! Absolute life savers!
2 bunches of Kale. 3 bunches of Buk Choy, box of cherries and a kilo of Zucchini.
Kale, 3.90 at colesworth, Baby buk choy, 2.90 each at coles, cherries, 26,33 a kilo at colesworth.
This was an absolute steal too.
does anyone know any places that sells secondhand or new cameras preferably in or near CBD?? i know about george’s cameras already but im trying to find a place that sells cameras for cheaper and has older models.
First and most correct answer earns the Judgemental Cow Image. And 10 points!
Edit: I should’ve said I’m commuting by train, so some suggestions are too far afield.
Anyway, thanks everyone.
I put this question up to see if there were any fishmongers closer than Hurstville that I’d missed when googling. I figured if I needed to catch a train to eat fish I would eat less fish given stores for everything else is right here in Kogarah. It seems like Hurstville is my best bet combined with the suggestion to eat some flash frozen seafood.
———————
I just moved to Kogarah from NZ with my wife and toddler and I’m in that setting up life phase. To that end, I’m looking for fishmonger that has a variety of fresh seafood and is convenient to get to.
From Google I see that there was a fishmonger in Kogarah and one in Rockdale plaza, but both have shut down.
Any suggestions?
Also, what seafood is good value (price taste etc) in Sydney? I knew the good tasting underrated (and therefore cheap) fish/other ocean edibles in NZ, but the seafood is different here.
Thanks 😀
Residents of the areas around it hate you so much. You don’t let them fall asleep, you wake them up in the middle of the night and make their existence miserable. Personally, even when I wear my earplugs and close my window, I can still hear your freaking cars and motorcycles. Why the hell would you try to speed through making as much noise as possible after 10PM? Don’t you have to go to work early in the morning? Don’t you have basic human decency and compassion towards other people around you? Would you want someone to do the same thing to you?
Note: if someone knows if there’s a way to complain about it, please let me know.
At work we have several lost and found walking sticks that has been unclaimed for months, instead of throwing them out I was thinking maybe I can just donate them. Any leads on where I can drop them off? Preferably in the city or in the eastern suburbs.
I’m visiting Sydney in January. My best friend’s favorite animal is the thylacine, he even has a tattoo of one. I would love to track down some merchandise with thylacines on it as a gift, so does anyone know of any around the city? I literally don’t care what the product is, as long as it has got a Tasmanian tiger on it and is something I can bring on home on a plane
I tried looking online and saw some museums might have thylacine stuff in the gift shops but wanted to hear if any knew of any cafes, independent businesses, or brands that used its image on anything :)
I’m limited to where public transport can take me but I’m sure I can figure it out! Thanks in advance!
I’m from South Korea and just arrived in St Leonards, Sydney a few days ago. I’m a male adult and really want to play soccer or futsal. Where do people usually play soccer or futsal around here? Is there an app for it?
My partner and I are heading to Sydney from the UK in February, looking to stay for at least a year, and looking for advice on best practice for securing a short term rental for the first month or so of our stay.
I'm conscious that it would be difficult/risky to secure one while still in the UK, given that we'd need to put a deposit down. Do people tend to get a hotel/AirBnB for a few days first then look for short term rentals while actually in the city and can therefore check out the place in-person to ensure it's not a scam?
Or do people just tend to take the calculated risks and do all the due diligence they can while still overseas? Very keen for some advice here. Thanks!

As the title suggests I’ve been away so long. Living in London uk, but used to live in Newtown just behind the mission in a shared warehouse (Whateley Lane). So with this, what else has changed from them early 90s. Dendy was just built when I left so that says something of the time frame …
