Just curious. I'm local MD native looking to move westward in the state. I currently live in Baltimore County and was considering moving to Cumberland/LaVale/Frostburg area. I am a high school teacher by trade with the ability to teach college if I so choose. I was looking for a county with a slightly more rural/sparse suburban feel and smaller schools. Any advice?
Hi. I am looking for town/apartment recommendations in MD. I am looking to move by the middle of March (I know last minute). However we both have cars.

Looking for min 1 bedroom apt or townhome

Preferences: -walking distance/20 min max car ride to metro for DC commute
Hey r/Maryland,
I have a date tonight, and we're doing Silver Skewers. I'm looking for food recommendations that I can order for my date and I.
If anyone has been there and knows of some good food to order, please leave recommendations. Thanks!
Someone was telling me that there's a movement in Maryland to write in Luigi for Governor in the 2026 election and I was wondering if anyone had heard of this

He is the co-sponsor of several bills against abortion, abortion medication, etc. As well as a new bill to terminate the department of education. Call him to let him know how you feel about these.
With savage river lodge permanently closing a couple weeks ago, was wondering if anyone knew of anything similar in style, amenities, "woodsiness" of it within a 3-4 hour drive of DC, I came across postcardcabins but I'm not sure how well it compares to savage river.
The positions will impact student support services and could increase the dropout rate

I love hoofed animals, but the only hoofed animal I've ever touched is deer because I feed a family of deer near me almost every day, and one of them lets me pet her.
I have been near horses, never touched one though. And I have never even seen a donkey or a goat but I've always wanted to.
Someone around here has to have some, right? I really want to visit some hoofed animals!
Want to get away for 1 day, 1 night, and do activities that are "Level 2":
Level 1 activities (able to focus on each other and have DMCs):
Ex: walks, drinks in a dim upscale lounge, etc.
Level 2 (able to converse while having fun):
Ex: playing pool/ping pong, painting together, etc.
Level 3 (not much convo, just FUN shared experiences):
Ex: Dave & Buster's, Maryland State Fair, rock climbing, etc.
Thanks in advance!
So anyone's energy bill last month break 1K? We just got an energy bill for $1,100. I keep it at 68, I didn't think that was insane, but maybe it was too high. I know January was freaking cold.
A dozen keystone cops woke me up at 5am with their shields, rams, tank, and endless shouting.
I've now officially seen more SWAT raids on my Carroll County neighbors than I did on my West Philly neighbors (2-1).
Is it, like, a development district? A paper town? One of those smaller towns that got subsumed by its post office city? I have had no luck whatsoever finding anything about it, except on an unarticled wikipedia hyperlink.
Has anyone changed their BGE supplier to a retail electricity supplier? If so, has this actually decreased your electric bill? Who is your retail electric supplier. I’m thinking of switching but want to know if this is actually worth the hassle.
I have very old (and broken!) appliances, including a gas stove I was looking to switch for an electric one, and was waiting for Maryland to implement the Home Energy Rebate Program. I’m assuming the new administration will be putting an end to funding for this, but I’m unclear if Maryland will be able to promote this program with the funds they’ve probably already received but not allocated yet. Anybody else been following this? (Or also planning on buying new appliances?)
