I need some community while staring down the barrel of the coming administration…
This place offers couples massage classes and I’ve been meaning to go to one for a while. Groupon has what seem like pretty good deals on it. Has anyone done this?
Please severely miss me with the bootlicker victim-blaming accusations of me running a crypto mill or having the thermostat set to 420 Celsius in the winter or -69 Kelvin in the summer. I used to have the bill for a flat consisting of EIGHT people in my name. It was never this high. I just recently finished living with a roommate who was pirating media so hard that Comcast texted me "What's good?" (thank Beyonce I'm on Port Networks now). It was never this high. I live by myself. In a single apartment. I like the lights low and my room cold (thermostat has been off since the heat broke). It isn't some overdraft thing where it just "looks" like my bank account balance was cleared. I checked. They charged my EXACT remaining balance in that account. TWICE. I've never had my bank block a charge so easily. No, BGE didn't have anything to say to this besides "Nuh-uhhh." Don't try to explain with autopay as the culprit either. Even BGE wasn't dumb enough to imply autopay automagically guesses your remaining bank balance.
I got these screens to prove it. Y'all can clown me for being broke, but y'all not about to gaslight me. I'm owed more than enough gas and light from BGE after paying about 1.8K in less than two months. Not sure why people on this sub are so happy to cape for crap.
My bank got me, but I'm worried (actually) about y'all on this sub victim blaming single people in apartments with 700 USD bills for one month of usage. It's like y'all think gaslighting broke people somehow gonna pay y'all's gas and light bills in them Fed Hills lol.
I’m making this awesome smoked Mac n cheese in a pumpkin. Also if you need a pumpkin or two to cook I have extra.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Like the title says, does the Baltimore City Attorney Generals Office offer legal advice to citizens? I'm going through a big fucking mess with Blue Dot rn and one of my options for recourse is to pursue legal action. However, lawyers and court stuff is not cheap at all, and we don't have a lot of money at home.
If not the A/G office, do y'all have any good recommendations on a legal source I could speak to about my situation? To get some idea of what (if anything) I can do against them?
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have recommendations for good adult driving classes or instructors in my area? I recently got my driving permit, but I’m finding it tough to get some practice in since none of my friends or family are available to teach me. I’d really like to get some licensed practice in before I hit the road solo.
I'm specifically looking for adult driving classes in Baltimore City that might also offer pickup services. If anyone has recommendations or experiences with local instructors or programs, I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks so much for your help!
Around 10:15 this morning, driving on I-83N somewhere between exits 16B and 17, in a car filled with dogs for a walker hike at Oregon Ridge Park, I nearly got into an accident caused by a hot-headed road rager in a white pickup truck. I was in the left lane, taking my time (67 in a 60mph zone) to pass a semi-truck during our early morning snow shower, when this prick starts flashing his lights at the car behind me, starts weaving in and out of traffic, then races around the semi and in front of me, only to then slam on his brakes, nearly causing me and the car behind me to crash. The worst part was that he then peels off and then takes exit 17 to Pandonia Road. You didn't even need to be in the left lane, you putz!
WHY DID YOU BRAKE CHECK ME?! WHAT MADE YOU THINK TO DO THAT!? DONT TELL ME BECAUSE I WASNT GOING FAST ENOUGH, BECAUSE I'M NOT ENDANGERING MYSELF, ANIMALS IN MY CARE, OR OTHER MOTORISTS BY CHARGING AROUND 10 OR 20 MILES OVER THE SPEED LIMIT DURING WET CONDITIONS! USE YOUR BRAIN!
Drop any recommendations of organizations or groups that are accepting food for the needy here please!
This is my families first year without our dad who passed away recently, and we’re just not ready to do the Holidays the same old way yet. Instead we are all getting together to cook various dishes and give them away to those in need.
Thanks in advance and happy Holidays everyone
Disclaimer: I already know this is a nationwide problem, no need to declare it in the comments. But I used to have elephant insurance because they didn’t pay for advertising which kept their rates low. Then that was no longer the case, I switched to Erie. Years ago, I remember a friend had a tracker in their car by some niche car insurance company, and they were able to significantly lower their rate by proving they had safe driving skills with the tracker.
Where are those niche companies today? Do they still exist? Car insurance companies that do something unique to keep the costs down, like not advertising or using trackers? Car insurance has become so out of control, that any new company could easily dominate the market just by being cheaper, geez.
I cannot afford this $200+ per month for a 2006 Toyota Corolla with only 100k miles that I barely drive because I work remote, and I have a clean driving record for over a decade. And I just moved to Anne Arundel county expecting the rates to lower now that I’m out of Bmore city limits, but nope! Rates didn’t change a bit.

So, I've been having a hell of a time with my recent HVAC situation (got the A/C replaced, furnace wasn't hooked back up over claims of chimney issues, etc.). I just had the inspector leave my house today, and lets just say he was PISSED at what the contractor left me with. . . He said that:
I don't need a chimney liner because I have an internal chimney (in between homes in a rowhome)
Whoever did the HVAC work should have hooked my furnace back up regardless of if whether or not the chimney was lined or not. . . Citing that it can kill everyone in minutes if it gets turned on. He also noted that as soon as they started messing with that stuff, it becomes the contractor's responsibility, full stop.
Whoever did the work should have their license pulled.
So now I get to have an interesting conversation with the company that did the work (Blue Dot) about how the city failed their work and how they need to come out and get things fixed ASAP.
Thank God for the city. . . The inspector was a very nice, upfront guy that said from the jump that he has my family's back.
Preaching to the choir here but I am sick and tired of clocking a near-death experience every time I commute. I don't even drive that much and use public transit to get to work about half the time, but it sucks when I need to go somewhere the bus doesn't reliably service/anywhere evenings/my bus gets canceled in the morning and I have to deal with the loonies on the road.
My commute's only three miles between Fells and Mount Vernon and this morning I was nearly t-boned by a guy swerving around the turning lane to make a left from the center lane at Central and Eastern; had someone drive in the bike lane (crushing the useless flexposts of course) to pass me on the right because I wasn't pulling up to block the box; and then got nearly clipped and then flipped off by some dude in a truck on Franklin using the parking lane to merge after the lane ended one block back. And this was all at eight AM in broad daylight while kids are trying to get to school.
What is there to be done? Do I keep emailing my council person, or is that just a waste of time because they don't control the cops? And the roads I travel daily (like S Central) already have "traffic calming" measures; I file 311 reports when the flexposts get crushed. I took 3 reports, but BDOT did add a small "parking ahead" sign to the intersection on Franklin. Maybe that helped some, but a sign is no match for these drivers. I'm a cautious and defensive driver who looks out for bikes and pedestrians, and I regularly get people passing me to blow through a crosswalk/bike lane because they aren't looking and don't care.
I can't even imagine what people who have to commute on the bigger routes deal with, and I don't know how people with kids stand it.
I'm not even a fan of cops in general but I'm sick of putting my life at risk to get to work while six police officers stand around the Fells Point farmers market. We apparently have the budget to send the copters to do circles over my neighborhood on the weekends. Other than never leaving my house again, what can be done?
Curious if this sounds normal. It's a new hydrant, which was replaced a few weeks ago. Over the past few days it's started emitting a muted hissing sound ... almost like its coming from underground.
Before I report it to 311, just wanted to see if this was a normal occurrence.
Another one in the Mount Vernon area bites the dust…
I saw it coming when they went from a restaurant to a bakery. I guess a lack of foot traffic and their short hours don’t help.
Ideally in the Hampden area, but even near-ish works. Preferably an order-at-the-bar situation rather than table service.
On that topic-- are there any casual (free) Drink and Draw like events in town? I would happily go further afield for a chill meet-up-and-doodle crew weekly or monthly.
My friends and 15y godkid are coming to visit next week. Looking for things to do on Monday and Tuesday particularly (going to AVAM on Wednesday am). Any tips or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!
Hello! Wondering if there are any female oriented cycling groups and/or women interested in easier-going bike rides in Baltimore? I’m more of a beginner cyclist in terms of gear, physical dedication etc but I really enjoy commuting and pedaling around on my roadie! Unfortunately, I have been the subject of unsolicited comments from men while riding around solo :/ Like gym intimidation, cycling intimidation is no joke. Would love to connect with any female riders in the area as I would feel less pressured and self-conscious to dress, perform and ride a certain way when I have participated in other group settings.
Was at the aquarium tonight and there was an otter outside in the wetland they’ve set up.
