I’m looking to plant some more native trees on the property this year, and would love any recs for some small nurseries/businesses that sell tree saplings. Specifically native to Maryland. Open to places in Harco, southern PA, Balt county- thanks!
Does anyone know what caused the lockdown at Old Post elementary this week?
This was the message that was sent:
“Good afternoon. This is Nicole Nimmo, assistant principal of Old Post Road Elementary School with an important announcement. This morning, we went on a brief modified lockdown as we responded to an individual in crisis. During a modified lockdown, students and staff remain in the classrooms and instruction continues as normal. This approach ensures the hallways are open for the emergency staff to move easily throughout the building. As a result of this incident, there was an increased police presence at our school. I want to assure you that at no time were any of our students or staff in danger. We want to thank our students for their understanding and exemplary behavior during the brief modified lockdown. We were able to quickly return to our normal instructional day. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.”
Looking for recommendations for garage door installers. Thank you in advance.
Hi all! Former employee of The Brass Tap in Belcamp and just wanted to come on here and share some thoughts about this place. I worked here for roughly a year and just wanna warn everyone to STAY AWAY:
1.) During warm months, they have a terrible fly/gnat infestation. The gnats frequently get into the beer and whenever we bring it back to the bartender, they just stick their finger in and grab the gnat out and tell us to serve it to the guest.
2.) It was extremely common that the cook’s hair would get into the food and it would get sent back all the time.
3.) There’s a scrawny short manager there that is 27 yrs old and preys on all the women (employees, customers, literally anyone he can). He serves alcohol to underage employees if he likes them and calls his employees sexy, to their face and behind their back. He once asked one of the female employees to dance naked for him at his apartment for his birthday (in front of the general manager) and the general manager just laughed about it. He also frequently says the n word and we explained to him multiple times why it wasn’t okay and he still would say it all the time!
4.) They’re incredibly messed up to their employees! One of the servers got fired because she messed up an order (she only worked there for a month and was given a 40 person party) and before they fired her, she was crying and they wouldn’t let us help her clean anything and they told everyone they were gonna fire her. They also start drama with all the employees and talk behind everyone’s backs and talk bad about all their employees.
5.) There’s a guy that works there that claims he’s the owner (he’s the general manager) and he makes his wife do work (mostly serving) and withholds her tips and pay.
6.) The managers constantly talk about women inappropriately and make hiring decisions based on looks. They said multiple times that they won’t hire men as servers and after they do interviews, they come back and decide if they’re going to hire the girl based on if she’s pretty enough.
7.) Managers constantly refuse to serve/complain about serving black people because they say they don’t tip and get mad at everything.
Multiple employees tried to go to Human Resources about the issues, but the franchise doesn’t even have a Human Resources department so that’s cool.
Have a bunch of colleagues coming in next week and need good group dinner ideas. It's a fun group- not stuffy.
We've done Prost. know about Das. Prefer the aberdeen or bel air areas. Though HDG might be fun

What’re the tastiest restaurants (regardless of cost) in the area?
My December bill was mid-$300s, which is fine, about the same as last year. But this month, mid Dec thru Jan, it has absolutely skyrocketed to just over $1200! I've NEVER seen an electric bill this high. My first thought is it has to be a mistake.
Last winter during the coldest months, I paid about $800 as the highest bill. That's because my kitchen was being redone and doors and windows were open for ventilation in the absolute coldest months. This winter, I've kept the heat at 65 degrees, chillier than I like, to keep costs down. And I'm suddenly hit with $1200. For electric!
Anyone else having Delmarva problems? I'm at a loss. It's an old house with poor insulation, but this is just insane. It's not like I'm secretly growing weed or mining crypto!
I’ve really been wanting to try African food, specifically Fufu with various different soups and stews… anyone know of a restaurant where I could go to get some?
Looking for a few people who want to get together a couple times a month to play board games (more modern hobby games than traditional board games). Let me know if this is you!
Thanks
Hopefully decent coffee or something

Asking for my wife. She had a colonoscopy already and linzess doesn't work. She was diagnosed with a "lazy bowels".
Currently located in Harford County near the Baltimore County line if anyone knows a great roofer. The snow and ice has caused some damage that I need repaired. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
Look I know in southern harco we live near the base, but I’ve lived here my entire life and have never heard this many helicopters, all night every night. Anyone have any insight on what they are up to? It isn’t super comforting hearing them all the time.
Hi I’m new to the area and come from a bit of a bigger town but not too big. I am genuinely curious if anyone here knows of any places within Harford County for hangouts that are more alternative. Like that have Indie Rock concerts, goth nights, themed dance parties/raves stuff like that! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where I could find places that offered some of those things in the area.
Looking to hire a Spanish, Tutor. I am at a very elementary level of Spanish. Trying to get to basic conversation, B2 level.
Hi! Looking to see if anyone has, or has seen an unfrozen pond I can use to get a water sample for a science class? Tried Bynum run pond but it’s frozen solid and I don’t feel comfortable walking across the ice to the gap in the middle
Has anyone traveled up to Lancaster County PA today? How were the road conditions?
Hello all, I’m posting to give everyone a huge warning. Caution to all pet owners taking their dogs or planning on taking their dogs to Janneths pet grooming. There are multiple things I have to say about this place. The cat that lives there will bite you if given the chance, they have little to no patience or care with the dogs, dogs of all sizes and temperaments are kept together. The cat that lives there is named Susie. She will act like she is super sweet and wants attention, however if you try to pet her there is more than a fifty percent chance she will just bite/scratch you. She has made multiple customers bleed and will go after you when you try to pay if she’s up there by the machine. If you are scared of cats, or don’t like being randomly bitten I would stay away. We also had our dog groomed there twice. The first time, they found out she does not like the dryer. The second time I made sure they were aware she doesn’t like the dryer and she freaks out. They had the nerve to stick her in a cage with the dryer stuck into the side. She obviously still freaked out and ended up twisting her dewclaw on the grated bottom of the cage. The groomer was extremely nonchalant and dismissive about it. Well a couple months later and now our dog has to have surgery on her dewclaw due to the injury caused. Lastly, big and small dogs are kept together where they are half watched. They also do doggy daycare and boarding there. They do nothing when dogs hump each other which is just awful. Also if you bring two dogs no matter big or small they will be put in the same cage. It is a large dog crate not a kennel. If your dogs like their space don’t bring them to Janneths.
Again this is a warning to all dog parents.
Hey so, I’m currently on the hunt for a retail job in the area and could use some advice. I’ve recently applied to Target (Bel Air and Nottingham locations) for a Guest Advocate position but haven’t had much luck getting through to HR for follow-ups, I even tried guest service, I’ve called 8 times and no one is picking up.
I’m open to other opportunities in the area, especially at places that offer a friendly team environment, decent pay, and consistent hours. Like shit I don’t mind going to walmart or something, I just need to know if anyone even works there 😭
Are there any thrift stores in Harford or Baltimore Counties that don't show up in a Google search? I've heard maybe retirement homes or hospitals?
In a mid-90s home with no central coax hub, just a rats nest of dead ends and cut cables. I’d MoCa myself but after coax tracing it’s just not worth the trouble.
I like the luxury of plugging into Ethernet. WiFi is fine, but I’m paying for high speeds and like to squeeze every last drop.
TLDR Any recommendations on who can place some Ethernet drops in the area for a decent price?
My snowblower won't start and I'll need my driveway cleared. I'm up in Jarrettsville.
