Vet Recommendation - Moving soon

Hello everyone,

I’m planning a move to the glen Burnie area in a couple weeks. I work there so that’s my reasoning for location.

Does anyone have vet recommendations? I have a 9 year old cat I’ll need to have chipped and checked out. Recently adopted, makes the most sense to wait until I move and she’s settled. She is 100% healthy at this time and was taken to the vet regularly while she was in foster care.

I appreciate everyone’s time, thanks!

Seeking Help and Resources for Women in Glen Burnie, Maryland

I'm currently going through a difficult divorce. I've been isolated since I got married and came to this country. I don't know anyone here in Maryland. My ex-husband never allowed me to socialize or even work. I’ve encountered different forms of abuse for years, and now that I’ve finally decided to leave, I’m not sure where to turn. My English is broken. I’m feeling lost and overwhelmed with my divorce.

I’m specifically looking for organizations or resources in Glen Burnie, Maryland that can support women like me—those who have been housewives, with limited English, and are trying to rebuild their lives. I’ve tried reaching out to lawyers, but it feels like they’re more interested in money than truly helping me.

Any advice, support, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post.

*Note - I'm just helping a friend.

Is the home overpriced?

We are thinking to buy a townhome in Glen Burnie with Beazer home. The location technically says Millerville but the address in Google maps says Glen Burnie. The name of the community is The Willows with Beazer homes located right off Veterans’s highway and Crain Highway.

500s for a townhome. Being to new to Glen Burnie, I couldn’t determine if the home is overpriced or not. Can someone please provide any insight? Thank you.

Curmudgeon Books

I just wanted to let everyone know about Curmudgeon Books inside the Marley Mall. They have new and used books, records, videos, it's a really fun place to spend a couple hours browsing and discovering some new and old friends. The staff is knowledgeable not only about their stock but about authors, genres, and books in general. I know the reviews are spotty but me, my sister, and our parents had a very nice experience there.

Give it a try!

Summer Camp for ages 5-11!

Hey Parents!

Summer break is coming up soon for most kids and they're probably going to be looking for something to do. If that's the case, then a small business called Warriors of Grace Karate in Severn, MD is having a Karate Camp all summer! No karate experience needed! They have two different options for camp: Weeklong and Friday only.

Your kiddos must bring a lunch Monday-Thursday, but a Chick-fil-a lunch is provided on Friday. Also on Friday will be a water balloon fight and popsicles.

Each week of camp will have a different theme with games and activities to match! See the flyer above for more information and check out this link: https://www.warriorsofgracekarate.com/book- online

Oh, and check us out on yelp and google!

Have a great summer ☀️!

Found cat

Hey everyone. If this isn’t allowed here, please delete. It’s just kind of breaking my heart. I just got home from work and found an orange kitty outside of my apartment in Chesapeake Glen. I have a kitty and can’t bring her inside but she ate my whole bag of cat treats. She is obviously a pet, wearing a collar with no tags, and wouldn’t cooperate for a picture really. Her collar is blue ish, maybe a plaid print with a bow and bell.

Local dump

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just recently moved to Glen Burnie and am trying to find the local dump. In the chaos of moving, my roommate and I have accumulated a lot of trash and we just want to get it out of the house.

A Study on Potential Jurors in Maryland

Greetings All!

You are invited to participate in the dissertation research study entitled “The CSI Effect on potential jurors' expectations for digital evidence during court proceedings in Maryland.” The study has been approved by the University of the Cumberlands Institutional Review Board.

The purpose of this study is to understand how the CSI Effect impacts potential jurors' expectations and understanding of digital evidence during court proceedings in Maryland. The CSI Effect is a phenomenon that speaks to the population's exposure to criminal justice television shows (e.g. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order, etc.) that can shape how individuals view the criminal justice process. Potential participants will complete a survey titled “The CSI Effect and Digital Forensic Evidence Scale” to gauge their understanding of digital forensics and the criminal justice system.

Data collection will involve completing a 9-item survey, which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please navigate to the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScszsu6hT_vFcAufrADeXh-tAJvRKXuXGebvgY351OSmRwQaA/viewform?usp=sf_link

I appreciate your interest in this study.

NEW BUSINESS OWNED BY A NEW MAMA!!

Hey yall! New to the area and I’ve been providing services on Rover.com for a few years now. I also noticed tiny dog walking companies popping up every where. It gave me an idea!! Instead of working for someone else, being on their time, and them taking a profit of what I should me making, why don’t I too start my own business!!

Any age, Any size, Any breed. Requiring them to be neutered/spayed will depend on other clients that day. I have a massive kennel, home always and can provide unlimited potty breaks, dog park is a 3 mins walk behind our building, lots of snuggles and love! They are allowed on the furniture, all the things to play with, never left alone for longer than 1-2 hrs if at all so they are always being monitored, and I will follow any rules or requirements you prefer. Also, I am capable of giving medication and I know CPR.

MUST BE UP TO DATE ON VACCINATIONS.

Insurance: While in my care and there is a reason why your dog has to be taken to the vet to be treated for like an injury or illness, I’ll will provide a full refund of services and pay for up to %75 of the vet bill.

I am going to start working on my profile of dog paintings to add to this and I can also offer references if need be!

I hope this works because I am ready to meet all the babies in the area!

Just send me a text at (240) 749-1044 and say ‘DOG CARE’. That way I won’t miss it!

Thank you!!

Looking for advice and/or anecdotes on Maryland Medicaid MCOs [x-post from /r/Maryland]

Hello all,

I just moved back to Maryland and will be on Medicaid here. I wanted to ask which MCOs you guys think are best, as there seems to be little information about how they compare to each other in terms of lab test coverage and doctor networks .

In particular, I will be trying to do a variety of less common/frequently ordered lab tests, such as special tests for vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I know that getting coverage for these may be difficult, but I would like to choose a MCO that covers (or will make an exception to give me 1 time coverage for) as many less common lab tests as possible. I don't know if such coverage is actually different between the MCOs at all, but I just figured I'd ask.

In addition, I was wondering which MCO you guys think has the biggest and best networks of doctors. I strongly prefer to see younger doctors as I've found them to be more helpful for my complex health issues. So though I live in Annapolis, I'm planning to mainly go to Glen Burnie, Pasadena, and/or Montgomery County, as it seems there are lots of younger doctors in those areas. However, I'll also need to see a variety of specialists, so where I go for that will of course depend on where the specialists' offices are.

So far, I'm strongly considering either Wellpoint (formerly known as Amerigroup Community Care) or CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield Maryland Community Health Plan (formerly known as University of Maryland Health partners), as a doctor I'm considering seeing only accepts those two. However, I'm also considering Priority Partners, Maryland Physicians Care, United, and Aetna. Any reports on any of these would be great.

Anyway, so I know this a bit long, but to summarize, I would love if people can share what MCOs they think are best, either in general or for my goals. In particular, I'd love to know if anyone knows how Wellpoint (/Amerigroup) and/or Carefirst BCBS CHP (/UMD) are. Thanks so much.
