Has anyone else noticed how bright the road is around mid afternoon? I know they just recently repaved 29S but I can not deal with how bright it reflects the sun! I haven’t ever seen a repaved road shine so bright I was wondering what the heck happened; if they missed a step or if there’s something the city can do it try to fix it?? Please tell me I’m not the only one

Flights are much better flying in and out of Dulles then BWI. I am curious if people have had success getting drivers to accept their ride request from IAD to Columbia late at night (landing after 10/11 pm). I know you can pre-schedule a ride, but is it possible that the driver will cancel after already accepting?

I desperately trying to move out of Baltimore county before my son starts pre-k fall 2025. The school we are zoned in is quite literally horrible - and no this has nothing to do with race. We moved here to save money but at this point I’d rather pay more for rent in exchange for quality education.

My son is getting evaluated for high functioning autism. Husband and I both have ADHD - high probability that our son has it too (too young for an ADHD dx). He will most likely have an IEP. Our son is very caring and sweet - socially awkward due to possible autism. The kids in Baltimore county (Windsor mill/woodlawn) are not very welcoming towards neurodivergent peers.

Anyway, I know I can’t go wrong with schools in HOCO. Which neighborhoods are the least pretentious? Looking for a ford and Honda kinda vibe; less of a Tesla and Mercedes Benz type of vibe (if you get what I’m saying). Thanks!

I began a yoga class in the Merriweather District this evening at 4:30. I left at 5:45 to a large emergency response situation. Three or four emergency vehicles on the side of Marlow near Bus Boys, two fire trucks in front, the three in the other side lot. Not sure what went down in the hour I was in class. Hope everyone is okay. Anyone know?

I've emailed the library in regards to the world languages cafe but am guessing there's not much demand for either language.

A little backstory...Im a total amateur when it comes to photography, but I do create and edit travel videos for my very small YouTube channel...but with an upcoming trip to Japan (5th time) in April, I'd like to explore getting more into street photography, as it's such a photogenic country, and I figure it may also help my travel videos at the same time.

My son attends RECC as a peer at an area elementary school in the 3s program. We received a flier earlier this month that there were extremely limited spots in the 4s program next year. His teacher mentioned today that we should definitely start looking for a Pre-K for him next year. The shortage is because of the school districts renewed focus on need based enrollment.

To be crystal clear I wholeheartedly support this, am happy to pay HCPSS for his attendance and will pay more.

I can’t imagine though that the intent of the policy was to boot kids from the program. More interesting still is he’ll be back the following year for Kindergarten.

Is anyone else seeing or dealing with this?

I pass it everyday as it is right near where I live and all I see is a coming soon sign but no open date. So I am wondering if anyone else knows when it will open.

Side note, will be nice having a gas station right next door…if and when it ever opens.

My kid is in 8th grade and will be going to a different high school in the fall. We aren’t moving until summer. When do I start the process to enroll her at the new school? We are still staying in the county, but I’m getting emails from her middle school about high school orientations and since we’re moving out of the range of schools her middle school serves, we won’t get an orientation email about the new school, which we would want to attend.

We’re trying to collect all the Mario Kart happy meal toys for our son.

We still haven’t found Mario,Luigi, Bowser, Metal Mario,and Pink Peach. Really just trying to find Mario, Luigi, and Bowser.

Has anyone been to a McDonald’s in the area that has any of those characters?
