June 2024-Crofton Golf Stream (Beaver Creek) Restoration Project – To meet the requirements of the NPDES MS4 permit, a tributary of Crofton Golf Stream (aka “Beaver Creek”) is in the process of restoration. The project proposes to restore approximately 1,300 linear feet of stream. The stream is located in between Davidsonville Road and Crofton Parkway near its intersection with Lang Drive. The Anne Arundel County Bureau of Watershed Protection & Restoration (BWPR) staff presented the goals and plans for this project at a community meeting last May.
In its existing condition, this tributary is highly eroded and making it a significant source of nutrient and sediment loads to the Little Patuxent River. The primary goals of this project are to improve hydrologic, hydraulic, geomorphic, water quality, and biological functionality.
The project timeline is June through October. See map below for project locations. For additional information on this project see https://www.aacounty.org/public-works/engineering/capital-projects.

Greetings All!
You are invited to participate in the dissertation research study entitled “The CSI Effect on potential jurors' expectations for digital evidence during court proceedings in Maryland.” The study has been approved by the University of the Cumberlands Institutional Review Board.
The purpose of this study is to understand how the CSI Effect impacts potential jurors' expectations and understanding of digital evidence during court proceedings in Maryland. The CSI Effect is a phenomenon that speaks to the population's exposure to criminal justice television shows (e.g. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order, etc.) that can shape how individuals view the criminal justice process. Potential participants will complete a survey titled “The CSI Effect and Digital Forensic Evidence Scale” to gauge their understanding of digital forensics and the criminal justice system.
Data collection will involve completing a 9-item survey, which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
