Hi we’re looking to move within Rockville (about 20 mins from where we currently live). I’m looking for the best (and hopefully most cost effective) option for movers. We can pack and unpack everything into boxes, just need help with putting it into a truck and then unloading it at the new place.
We are currently living in a 950 sq ft apartment and moving into a 1450 sq ft apartment so not like we have a ton of stuff to start with!
Thanks!
Hi! New to the area and looking for some recommendations.
My partner has a very simple birthday wish. And it’s to have a cute birthday cake similar to as seen in this photo. 🎂
Any bakery recommendations that would do something like this? I’ve done a cursory search, but wanted thought I’d reach out to get some first hand knowledge.
Thank you!
Hello,
We are relocating to Rockville later this year from California!
I am curious to learn about the EV population in Rockville. I plan to bring my EV (Volvo XC 40), and I want to know how easy or difficult it is to charge and operate EVs around the town.
Thanks!
Hi all, I just moved to Rockville and am renting a house. We're responsible for lawn care and would rather just hire a company to come and do it for us than buy a lawnmower only to lug it with us when we move in the next couple years. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced lawn company for basic mowing once or twice a month? Thanks!
Hey guys, any recommendations for car body/ car door repair? It's mainly a couple of scratches and scrapes on a door. Since there are dozens of mechanics and shops in the area, I wanted to get any shop recs. that are "fair" from your experiences.
Hi everyone! New to the area (6 months) and looking for a good hair stylist recommendation for a cut and color for long, dark hair. Looking for someone experienced with great customer service, I’m not overly concerned about price!
It’s always a bit scary to go to someone new, so I really appreciate it!
Ideally, a restaurant that has great food! Looking for somewhere to take my family and friends for a good meal after our wedding.
Is there anywhere I can donate baby items. Baby bathtub, diaper pail, bouncer, pac and play, stroller and car seat. Goodwill won’t take any of it
We just had our first kid (newborn) and they tend to get fussy at night before they fall asleep. Usually late night, unfortunately!
What has helped them is getting out of the house and driving around in our car. It relaxes them. Going on walks also relaxes them during the day, but I wonder if there are any places around the area where it would be safe to walk a baby in a stroller at like 10pm-11pm
Thanks in advance for anyone that has ideas!
I went to the festival last year (usually held at Montgomery College). It was a really well run event. Jesmyn Ward is being honored this year and she's the only woman to have won the National Book Award for Fiction twice!
Hello all,
So my favorite boba spot is Tea Dynasty, in the plaza next to the Giant on Hungerford drive. I went just a couple weeks ago and it was open and functioning, but I just looked on Google and it says permanently closed? Does anyone know if this is accurate (I haven’t gone to look) and why they closed? I didn’t see any signage about them closing last time I went. This spot is amazing and I’m genuinely gonna be so sad if it’s gone for good.
hi everyone, I’m (23F) moving to rockville from my home state of nc in a few weeks and would love any tips/advice about rockville or just moving from the south up north in general. thanks :)
I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable contractor in the Rockville area. I’ve owned my home for about a year and haven’t had any issues until now. This morning, I discovered a water leak in part of my basement. Likely because it’s been raining for 4 days. I immediately consulted a structural engineer because I wanted an unbiased opinion, who advised that the first step is to open up the wall to determine the source of the problem before proceeding with any repairs.
The engineer cautioned that exterior drainage and waterproofing companies might try to sell me their services without addressing the root cause. I’m looking for a contractor who is skilled at diagnosing issues and not just providing a quick fix. He would need to open up the wall first then figure out how what to do next.
If you know of someone experienced and trustworthy who can help, I’d really appreciate your recommendation.
Is 2250 dollar rent reasonable for a one bedroom one bath 866 sq ft for the area?
Uhhh did anyone else hear those two loud booms near town center? The traffic light between 355 and veirs mill is completely out. My lights flickered twice, both times before the boom.
Edit: Looks like the traffic light is back on. Not sure if the problem is resolved, or if anyone knows what the heck even happened just now.
Any suggestions out there?
What it says on the tin. Been trying to find a safe deposit box, but the banks I talk too seem to be getting out of the game, but maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Do you know a bank in the Rockville area with available safe deposit boxes?
There's a community wide yard sale today at New Mark Commons, 8AM to 1PM.
One central location (the clubhouse) plus 16 individual houses as well. There are signs and a map available on site.
607 Tegner Way, Rockville, MD 20850.
Helloo I’m a female in high school that plays electric guitar I’ve been playing around 3 years. I’m looking for people around my age to start a band. I love the bands Van Halen blink 182 and Queen (hard rock in general). HMU if ur interested
Hi everyone! I (23F) just moved to the area and am looking to make friends. I would prefer to find places and spots to hang out in Rockville as I don’t have a car and the journey to DC can be tiring.
I enjoy reading, going to the gym, boba tea, arcades, arts and crafts, movies.
Please feel free to message me or respond to this post if you’re interested.
Has anyone gotten a permit from Rockville for an ev charger installation before? They require a land survey and I’m wondering if a “house drawing location” survey is sufficient for this?
Amazing breakfast and lunch options. They're off Shady Grove Road but only open 7am-3pm M-F. This is the ham, egg & cheese toasted bagel.
Looking for a recommendation for an experienced tutor in the area to help a 10th grader who is in Chinese 3A at RM. Hardworking, great kid who just could use some extra assistance. Thanks!
