My husband and I recently bought a car from CarMax. We did all the paperwork there. We wanted to get the bay plates which they didn't have so they told us we can just pick it up from the MVA.

We already have the car title and a valid registration (I checked my MVA account). My husband tried to pick up the plates from the MVA but they said he needed to make an appointment to get the plates.

We don't see an option to pick up plates when you schedule an appointment. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know which service/appointment reason we're supposed to select?? The website is just so confusing. Thank you.

I was driving on 495 from VA back into MD coming home from work, close to the River Rd exit. All of a sudden there’s a car in my lane driving at full speed towards me going the wrong direction. Luckily I reacted fast enough that I merged left and we did not collide head on. But I’ve been so shaken and worried - does anyone know what happened? There’s no way this driver didn’t crash into someone or something.

New to MD. I currently live and work in the Gaithersburg area. I plan to start grad school next year, primarily looking at JHU, Georgetown, UMD, & etc.

Is it feasible to regularly drive to Baltimore or DC? Probably 3 times per week max because I need to work (in Gaithersburg). School will be part time over a few years.

For those who have never walked it at some point a yellow division line was painted down the middle of the trail. Over time the yellow dividing line has worn away and is nearly gone in most of the stretch that I walk. This is a problem. Reason: Picture me walking from entrance at Bethesda Row on the R side of paved trail. A bicyclist is riding towards me on the opposite side of the trail. Then bicyclist finds there is a couple/person walking in front of where he/she is traveling. At this juncture I am parallel to the couple on the opposite side of trail in the path of the oncoming bicyclist. Instead of bicyclist choosing to slow down and wait until I am no longer walking Parallel to the couple/person on the opposite side, bicyclist goes around the people directly in front of him. In order to do that, bicyclist crosses the middle divider line (yellow line on paved path) and is headed directly towards me! Since I've seen this So any times I am always paying attention and step off onto the dirt side of the pavement to take myself out of jeopardy. But this is reckless behavior of the bicyclist b/c at any given juncture there can be a rock/branch/baby shoe/other object On The Path that the bicyclist doesn't see, hits object and viers into the walkers that he is then far too close to. The yellow dividing line is mostly entirely worn away for the 1 mile length I typically walk. I have asked Montgomery Parks to repaint this line in the hope that this will make bicyclists more respectful of the two lanes this path is meant to have. have Anyone want to share any experiences using the CC Trail? This has been bouncing around in my brain all morning today lol.

At ~9:20am I was driving south on Connecticut just south of where Connecticut meets University in Kensington and right in front of (I believe) an Episcopal church, police has set up barriers in both directions and were directing traffic and stopping cars to let an older couple cross. A few moments later, they did it again for a single older man.

This wasn't a cross walk, there were no lights that were out, it wasn't during school drop off time, I saw nothing that indicated any events nearby (I thought maybe a funeral but they were coming from a church that looked pretty empty), there were no traffic accidents.....but these people who needed to cross the street sure seemed pretty important to the cops!

Anyone have any ideas? It's insane how much this question is rattling around in my brain.

I have access to a gym but the exam itself requires a weighted vest of 50lbs and then an additional 25lbs for one of the events. Weighted vests are extremely expensive and doesn’t get me close to 75lbs.

Any ideas for simulation would be greatly appreciated if this area doesn’t in fact offer practice anywhere.

I started a new job and a bunch of my coworkers have hair tinsel. But the person who did it for them just went out of business.

I’m looking for a place to go so I can get it done for myself. I live in the Silver Spring/Wheaton area. I take busses and metros to commute, so places like Baltimore/Frederick/Clarksburg are inaccessible to me. Anywhere in Montgomery County, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac, Olney, and even DC would be the BEST and most accessible locations.

It could literally be a local (or corporate) hair salon that happens to offer this service. Most hair salons don’t advertise this service on their websites, so it would be helpful to know in advance without making a million phone calls. And I don’t want to do it myself because I have horrible motor skills and I can’t see the back of my own head. I want someone who knows what they’re doing.
