Looking for a good family friendly Halloween event to attend in the area or neighborhood to trick or treat in

Im helping my wife take her little brother out treat or treating while she works. What's a good and fun place to take him today? Or what are the best neighborhoods to take him to that are known to give out a lot of candy and festive? I'm new to the area. Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to add: looking for things around Rockville MD

Mail-in ballot

Does anyone know how long it should take for a mail-in ballot to be received/scanned in by the election office? My mom sent hers through the mail 10 days ago and no notice of it being received.

Has anyone had some one ring their door bell in order to panhandle?

Some one rang the door bell and I wasn't expecting anyone. I look out through the peep h9le and see a child around 8 to 10 years old. I open the door (foolishly in hindsight) and there's a guy standing off to the side outside of the sight of the peep hole holding a tablet. Hmmm. He asks if I speak Spanish. I say no, so he approached and showed me his tablet that had a translated speech on it basically asking for money. Is this a new thing, pan handling at your door steps?

Is MoCo waiting for someone to get killed?

I wonder why it takes so long to repair damaged impact attenuators (the sand/water barrels at exits along highways).

If they're so important to install in the first place, why allow them to be damaged and remain in disrepair for months and years on end?

Attached image is from Google Maps showing 270 and 28. Might be fixed by now. But I regularly notice broken attenuators all over the place.

Restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving

I am not in the mood to cook this year and would like to go out to dinner instead.

Can anyone recommend a place to eat that will be open on Thanksgiving other than IHOP?

Doc Waters Cidery Recommendations?

I’m looking to bring some to a friend out of state who loves cider. Can anybody recommend a particularly good, crisp, dry carbonated one? I see they have Gold Rush, Orchard Blend, Dry Tart Cherry and Lady Kay which might fit the bill. Any recommendations?

Random question here: How come Target in Mont County doesnt sell their brand of Milk?

Just moved here from FL and I have always found their brand (Good and Gather) to be cheaper around. Been to 3 different targets and noticed they don’t sell it here. Closest Target that does is in Frederick. What can be the reasoning?

hate MCDOT

does anyone else hate the new bus routes for the department of transportation ??? Previously, I had a 10 minute commute to work, just having to take the 63. With the route changes, I now have to take 2 buses and it takes me around 40 minutes to get to work. I don’t know I just find it really inconvenient and I’m wondering if anyone has had improvements in their commutes due to the new bus routes, or if they also hate it.

Dr with good response times?

I’m new to the area and picked a doctor sort of at random. It’s been frustrating to ask for prescription refills — I’ve got 6, most of them psychiatric — because he takes 48 hours or more to respond to requests.

Can anyone recommend a doctor or medical center that offers better response times? I’m in the Wheaton area but I don’t mind traveling for a better doctor.

Furnace replacement recommendations?

Anyone have good experiences with furnace replacement contractors in the area? Ours is busted, but the company we called is quoting us what seems like an overwhelming amount of money ($15k for both furnace and hot water heater). Any recommendations for second/third opinions are welcome!
