I’m thankful for Mike Rizzo. Keep fleecing teams til they have nothing left in their farms.
I’m thankful for Davey Martinez. He never loses the locker room.
I’m thankful for CJ Abrams. The future face of the franchise.
I’m thankful for James Wood and Dylan Crews. Baseball gods, they’re perfect. Thank you.
I’m thankful for MacKenzie, DJ and Mitchell Parker. We finally have a semblance of young arms. And these three all had bright moments and have bright futures.
I’m thankful for Luis. Team MVP this year and it isn’t close.
I’m thankful for Jacob Young. Why? Because I love Jacob Young. I haven’t seen a player we’ve had have the grit and determination he does in a while.
Finally, I’m thankful for the Nats. I think we all are.
Seeing Blake Snell sign with the Dodgers on a deal that includes deferred money one year after Ohtani signed a contract that is almost entirely deferred and wondering when did the perception on deferred money change? I remember in negotiations with Harper and Soto the Nats were criticized for trying to defer large potions of the contract and it becoming a sticking point in negotiations. Has the narrative changed around these kinds of deals or are players only taking them if they come from teams like the Dodgers who are World Series favorites?
Happy Thanksgiving, /r/Nationals
Use this thread to discuss the goings on in baseball this week, maybe even the goings-on with you this week. It's a long, cold offseason—let's stay connected!
Here's a topic to start out:
#Where will Juan Soto end up? What is the maximum extent you think the Nats should go to to #BringHimHome?
I have seen several posts deleted here, including 2-3 of mine. They have provided reasons every time but there is rarely new content posted here anyway. It is the off-season. Just relax a bit. Recently there was a news about Soto shared. Fans were discussing it and now it is gone. Come on!
Solid hitter, good defender, been around for a long time at this point, willing to play 3B or 1B- if the Yankees scoop Walker, he seems like a more than solid alternative.
I want to propose to my partner, and want to make my engagement ring. A layer of the ring will be a part of the baseball in the World Series game. Does anyone know where I could locate one or look for one?
Thank you!
EDIT: FOUND ONE! Thanks everyone!
Besides the parade. Could be celebrations, interviews, the Easter bunny destroying Teddy, etc..
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Are there any interesting names in our farm system that we are potentially letting slip?
Long-time Nats fan, but while I’ve been to AZ for Spring Training before, never been to FL — and I’m looking to change that this spring! It would be really cool to get in a few of those “breakout” prospect games the league is doing again this year, but while many teams have their regular ST tickets up for sale (including the Nats), no teams have it available to buy tickets to any of the breakout games. Does anyone know how that worked last year — do tickets even go out to the general public? I’m trying to plan my trip out, and don’t want to pencil in games if the tickets aren’t going to be available!
I only have enough money for one jersey. I am torn between James Wood and Dylan Crews. Help me out please?
If there’s any season to start optimistically gunning for a Wild Card spot, it’s this one.
