I'm having a little get-together soon, and we decided on a beef stew. Do you have any recommendations on where I should shop? I rarely buy any meat besides chicken and feel a little lost.
Long shot, but does anyone know of a "public" grommet and rivet press (for making clothing, e.g. the rivets in your jeans) at perhaps a maker space or similar sort of arrangement? Buying a whole setup is kind of pricey for the occasional need. Thanks for any ideas.
I live in Northern Va but friends and I frequently visit Frederick downtown and always enjoy our time there. My buddy says they want to go see a movie there today because tickets are sold out just about everywhere else and they have a few left. I tell him to go ahead and I will send him the money. He sends me my ticket and the price is $27! 24 + online fee. I have never seen prices that high. The tickets are at the Westview Stadium. Is this some super high end theater? What gives?
Hey everyone,
Looking for some recommendations of Judo places in or around Frederick. I know someone just made a post regarding martial arts as a whole but I am more specifically looking for Judo.
I saw The Mount does Judo but can’t really find anywhere else around here that does.
Edit : Also early 20s so a little older crowd is preferred
Thanks!
Hi, I am new to the area and I am looking for friends. I am in my late 30s with no kids. Most people my age have kids and their life is all about their kids for a good reason, I am so happy for them. But that leaves me… I am into animals, having 3 dogs, and not into bars (why pay to drink at an upcharged place with loud noises?) I don’t know where to begin…
Asking this question after the post about comments made on Fox 5 by the Frederick Mayor.
I don't want to hear your opinions. It's a yes or no question...
Are there people here who would support a petition to recall the Frederick Mayor?
i’ve been staying in frederick temporarily for that past few months and i leave in a few weeks. what are some must-see/do things around frederick that i should check out before i leave?(besides downtown frederick)
Looking for a second job with those hours to make some extra income to help pay off my car faster and some credit card debt. Anybody know of anywhere in Frederick willing to hire for those time frames M-F only? I have my child on weekends and can’t work them.
I can't find anything online (I suck at that kind of thing anyway) but I have a brother machine and it seems most people won't touch them, or won't unless you bought it from them. Heeeelp 😂
After all of the hullabaloo on here from yesterday because of long wait times to get one at other places, I’m sharing this as a PSA :)
Anyone have any recommendations on where to get some CBD (with no THC)? I used to go to Wander Hemp and get mints and gummies to help with anxiety, etc but they are no longer in business. Looking for suggestions on a new place to go - local, small businesses would be great. TIA!

Hello! I’m visiting a friend in Urbana for Thanksgiving and wanted to know if there are any TCG stores open today for Friday Night Magic?
Hi all—
I’m decidedly middle aged and my fitness is best described as “minimal”. I’m interested in changing that and would like to learn some sort of martial arts.
Any recommendations for teachers/lessons in Frederick that can accommodate and older man looking to not break or sprain anything too badly while learning? The specific martial art doesn’t matter too much, I just think pursuing one as a skill would work out better for me than pursuing lifting or more conventional sport. Not looking to be a badass fighter or anything at this point in life. 🙂
Where do the boats begin and end? This is my first winter here and I'm gonna bundle up the kids.. but I don't want to spend time in the cold figuring out where to start my walk.
Daughter looking for location to rent for a few hours to gather family weekend before Xmas. Around 50 people. Not requiring kitchen. I know that may be a non starter being so close to the holiday. Just asking in case someone has a well kept secret they are willing to share. She's 2 time cancer surviver, first baby. ❤️
Hey everyone, my friend loves hot sauce so much and I wanted to get him some local ones you can’t really find in grocery stores. Does anyone know any local crafters?
We had dinner at Brewers Alley around 6:30/7:00 last night. When we left, the line was halfway down the block.. What gives? Never seen anything like it, but we only hit up BA occasionally because we fond them to be a bit hit of miss. (It was a hit last night, btw).
Edit: Should have made clear, I know all about the drunk fest that is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I'm just gobsmacked that anyone would wait in a line that long to get into BA.
Any places open today?
I’ve lived in Frederick since 2016 when I met my (now) wife who was born and raised here. My question is, why does it always seem like there’s nothing to do here? I come from a city that is almost identical in size to Frederick and there was ALWAYS stuff going on.
Frederick to me seems stuck in its ways and unwilling to modernize. It’s always the same things going on that I can’t believe people aren’t sick of yet. Downtown has 4 walkable blocks with the same tired stores and a revolving door of restaurants that are always coming and going. It seems like it’s fun for the tourist that shows up for a day and leaves, but for the people that live here? It’s played out and boring.
What can you actually do here? You want to go bowling? Go to 4th dimension and spend 80 dollars for 2 hours if you can even get a lane. You want to see a concert? Nice try, go drive to Baltimore or DC. Bars? Tourist traps other than maybe Wags? Outside downtown it feels like there’s nothing going on ever. It’s not even worth looking up things to do since you’re just find the same thing over and over again. For as big as this place is, it’s really misleading.
Please tell me if I’m wrong or missing something here, because it just feels like there’s nothing to do.
looking to get out tomorrow, are there any activity places in frederick open on thanksgiving (bowling, movies, roller skating, etc)
We will be in town meeting a friend for lunch on Black Friday. We used to live in Frederick but it has been many years, and I’m not familiar with good lunch options. Hoping to avoid downtown as we were there briefly last year on the same day and was shocked at the level of traffic. Our group will include vegetarians and meat eaters. What options outside of downtown might work that are better than fast food, but not too fancy?
Hi guys! Would love some suggestions for a parade or something to go to with the family tomorrow. Any suggestions?
Thank you
I know Manhattan Pizza, but it's a bit far for me, and it's a crap shoot whether the Doordash guy has a pizza bag. Any other places?
I love mushrooms on pizza, but I hate canned.
Wanted to know if there’s anything going on day before Thanksgiving. TIA!
What is the scoop on the Caesars sports book, replacing the Bet Fred at Longshots?
Any idea what the plan is? Between fires, closing, and businesses moving it feels like that entire block is dying out
