Is this legal?
Anyone a member, or been around OKCGC in arcadia or Tri City GC near norman? I'm trying to decide which one to look into as a younger shooter (24yo). I'm been out to Tri City a few times years back, but would like to heard from someone that chose one over the other and why? I'd like to check out competitions and shoot regularly. Which is a better option?
Hello,
Moved here from a West Coast state where there was plenty of DNR land, and all you had to do was find a reasonable backdrop or go to a pit.
Now, I am an Oklahoman, and I have been to the public hunting ranges, but those are too static and limited to paper and clay targets only.
Where can you find an outdoor range where you can bring your steel targets and practice active drills and runs without the need for an NRA membership?
Hello Okshooters. Im from California and currently hold no permit to carry in my state, no felonies, and eligible to apply for a CA permit. Going to OK soon for nursing school rotations. From what I understand OK is a permitless state that has reprocity with other states. I am just super confused with my own state laws, feels like CA is on its own when it comes to carry law.
So as a Californian can I conceal carry in Oklahoma?
I'd like to send my Glock back to the factory for some work - I can ship though my local FFL but that's an added expense. It's legal for a non-FFL to ship in this case but UPS will often refuse to do it anyway.
Are the local UPS hubs any friendlier?
Have an AR trying to get rid of. Where is good place for best price?
I'm finding mixed answers on the web. I'm a resident of Pennsylvania living here temporarily on business. I was in a pawn shop yesterday that was cool with the sale to me, but we couldn't lock in the price I wanted. Moved onto another joint today and was denied the sale due to my out of state residency. Am I spinning my wheels looking for a rifle here?
Has anyone flown American with a concealed firearm and declared it through the Tulsa airport? I know the TSA has requirements, but not every counter agent knows the restrictions. Has anyone had that experience? Any tips on making it better/easier?
This is my first time flying with a pistol and my first time through Tulsa. Any insights are appreciated.
I am planning a camping trip to Eufaula here soon and was wondering if one can conceal carry while camping?
I cant seem to find an answer that was made after the constitution carry law that was put in place and just wanted to play it safe
Thinking about branching out this year and doing some hunting on WMA land specifically Deep Fork or Okmulgee. Does anyone have any experience with hunting on these or other WMA close to Tulsa?
My spouse is interviewing for a faculty role at OSU. If she gets the job, there's a good chance we'll move from VA in the late fall or early winter.
What's the shooting sport scene like for that part of OK? I'm currently shooting IDPA, but would love to get into 2-gun and USPSA. Are there any private clubs or ranges that are worth joining?
Thanks in advance!
New to the OKC area. Have a Barrett .50. Anyone know where I can take it out?
I'm moving to Stillwater soon, and I have about a dozen handguns and a dozen long guns that need to be shipped from my current state. I'm looking for the best place to receive them, and to store them for a couple weeks until the movers bring my safe. I'm less concerned about price than I am about having things go smoothly and competently.
Who do you recommend? If any of you have been through this before, anything else I should know? Thx.
Hey i'm trying to help a friend here. My buddy just graduated Basic and then his Cav Scout training for the National Guard. We went to Bass Pro to purchase a handgun and holster for him so he can open carry, but they refused him because he is 19. Law in Oklahoma says you can't carry until you are 21, but I have found a few publishers stating you CAN if you are active duty military. Anybody know anything about that? Proof maybe? I cant find anything.
Looking at some land in Burneyville (rural Love County). 10+ acres. But it is a "subdivision" of sorts. 100+ lots from 5-30 acres. If I purchase a 10+ acre lot that is on the outside perimeter of the subdivision, do you think I could legally build a shooting range on the property?
I can't find any online ordinance references on Love County OK or Burneyville. I have left a message with the Love County Sheriff's office as well but haven't heard back. There is a "HOA" of sorts but mainly for road maintenance fees, and the seller has confirmed that "hunting" will be okay.
As long as I build a sufficient backstop that isn't in the direction of any other properties, will I be okay legally? I don't care about noise complaints, bitchy neighbors, etc., just the legal crap.
I recently purchased my first handgun in Oklahoma. I’m planning on attending a firearm safety class and/ or an SDA approved class for a handgun license soon.
Are there other steps I may need to take before I’m legally allowed to conceal carry? I believe OK is a ‘Constitutional Carry’ state that allows Open or Concealed carry without permit. With that said is licensing required or am I understanding it wrong?
At this point in time if I feel comfortable carrying it in public without a license or permit am I legally allowed to carry it in a holster?
I’m asking dumb questions so that I may understand it correctly. Much to learn, little to mistake, always being safe.
My son is visiting from Ohio. He does not have an Ohio permit yet, though he's eligible. He currently carries up there under Ohio permitless carry laws. The FAQ at OSBI seems to suggest that he could, though I'm not clear on the language.
If you are from a state that allows you to carry a handgun but does not issue permits or licenses, Oklahoma reciprocates under the permitting law of your state.
Ohio does issue a permit, though he doesn't have one. Can he carry here?
Trying to find out if it’s legal to open carry a rifle, I’ve seen a few articles where someone did and the responding officers said it was legal but I’m not one to trust a news article for legal advice and the Oklahoma laws aren’t the clearest to understand.
I'm looking for advice on where I could find a Remington 870 shotgun in the okc metro area besides a gun show. Any thoughts?
I want to go to an outdoor range and the one closest to me is Canadian Ranges. Theres another place called Range 66 but I think its members only and it only seems to go up to 25 yards.
Anybody been there?
Is it nice? How are the prices?
Thanks
