These suck. Don't buy em. I just replaced my rear with a new one and i cycle only once or twice a week. Less than half a year the tyre deformed in one area. I didn't even ride over anything harsh, pot hole or anything. Upon inspection inside the tyre, there're visible split holes which indicates worn/broken wires.
I tend to pump to 100 psi but it has always held even with the stock cst czar that came with the new bike.
Now trying maxxis road tyre instead.
Perhaps it's usable for front due to less load but I don't recommend cst czars as rear road tyre. They don't hold up.
So I’m currently remove, have been for over a year. Prior to that I was hybrid for a year, but the two years prior I was home like the rest of the world. But coming up in the near future, I’m back to the office full time, and I’m dreading it.
I don’t want to spend money on gas. I don’t want to drive and pollute when it’s not even remotely necessary. And it means my lunch time cycle ride goes out the window. But I think I have a solution.
There is a train station a solid 10 minute ride from here. The train apparently runs between here and the city I work in every 30 minutes, and it’s only 2 stops, 15 minutes. Work is 15 miles away.
So I’m wondering about cycling to the train, taking it to the office on the train, and then riding back on my lunch hour.
It’s not a direct route to ride, but 15 miles isn’t that big a deal to ride, and the roads for the most part are bike friendly. My only thought is clothing. I can manage jeans and what not on the ride to the train, but the 15 miles back in the heat of summer would really suck wearing business casual attire.
So the question is, do any of you ride your cycle gear to the office? Something about walking around the building in Lycra seems to be awkward.
I am 220lbs so needs to be able to hold atleast 300 but everything on Amazon seems to only have like 20-200 reviews and I don't want to buy one just for it to break a week later and need to have a rack or be able ot add one
I don’t think I’ve seen Pro product endorsements like this before, is it a new trend? Chinese brands and products are definitely entering the mainstream, as quality and acceptance levels increase.
Does anyone else use these? I don’t know anyone that does but I find them invaluable for making the ride more comfortable and safe, as I can hear other sounds such as approaching cars much better. They attach to the helmet straps and disrupt the wind flow past your ears. The traditional ones stick out more and are more effective than the narrower streamlined ones. They look very goofy I’ll admit, and I even had a group of cops I was asking for directions make fun of me for wearing them.
The chainline is terrible at this point I can put most the spacers on the non drive side but then it messes up the QF. Also their preload bolt is some crappy proprietary thing that screws onto the non drive side crank arm that doesn't screw out far enough so I had to put another preload bolt on as you can see in the pic. Almost 600 dollars for this thing that can't even make a 1x right.
I'm about to put down the cash on a gravel bike. Currently ride a road bike, but the appeal of gravel a previous injury and a large group of coworkers has me convinced. I have it between two different Jamis renegades, the s2 and s3. Is the only difference the stem, 1x vs 2x and an extra cog in the back? My roadie head says 2x up front is better, but the gravel guys say a 1x is way better. I get that the 1x will have bigger jumps between gears, am I missing anything else?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working as a bike technician for the past 6-7 years, and I’m now considering taking the Level 2/3 machanic course by WCC UCI. However, I’m unsure if it’s the right choice for me and what opportunities might be available after completing the course.
A little about my background: I worked with Decathlon for 4-5 years but had to leave due to my commitment to road nationals, as I wanted more time to train and race. Currently, I’m associated with a well-known local bike shop, but I feel like the salary potential in India might not be as high as I would like, especially with my experience.
I’m really curious about the job prospects after getting this courses. Would it help me land better opportunities, either internationally, team machanic or with high-end shops? I’m hoping to make an informed decision, so if anyone has experience with these courses or insights into the job market post-certification, I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks in advance!
It was a single speed with orange and blue color scheme and a number 9 on the frame kind of like you would see on a magic 8 ball.
Hey guys, i just bought a new gravel bike, which came with wtb riddler 700x45 tires. But since im planning to ride in 75/25 road/trails ratio, im thinking that those are too gnarly for me and i would rather have some tires that are faster-rolling on the tarmac. So i was thinking about selling those and buying a new pair of the Pathfinder 42mm tires or Schwalbe G-One RS 40mm ones. Do you have any experience with either of those and would you recommend me any other ones? Thanks for your opinions :D
So recently I thought of an idea of selling second hand bicycles in bulks.
Now attaining those bicycles in bulk is not an issue (the bulk usually ranges from anywhere from 50-200), but I can't seem to find any buyers.
Storage itself is also not an issue as well, however i have limited time to sell the bulk so I can't sell each bicycle individually as I won't have enough time.
I'm willing to sell them at dirt cheap prices of 3-5USD for each bicycle, at the cost of the buyers transporting the bicycles.
However the bicycles inside the bulk vary in condition, a majority of them are still functional but are rusty and some are broken as well (missing a tire, seat etc)
Who can I sell these bicycles to and where can I find them?
Thx
Edit: Now that I'm looking at my text it may sound sus,but I assure you the bicycles I'm buying in bulks are from the gov themselves
Hello everyone, how are you? I decided to start the path of fixing my bike on my own. I bought a fairly simple kit to repair small things and I'm half lost as to how to start.
I have two problems, the first that I think has to do with the alignment of the wheel, which seems to be dancing when it turns (I think it is related to the mass) and the second is that I punctured a tube and the glue for the rubber is very bad and nothing sticks.
I'm looking for information on how to fix the "cleta" in book or fanzine format, I know there are videos but I didn't do much research.
Could you share your niches of knowledge with me?
Thank you all very much, greetings from Argentina
Hi! I apologize if this has been asked and sorry if this doesn't belong here, but a search proved futile so here we go...
I have not ridden a bike since I was in middle school but have recently been more active with my fitness and would like to start biking. Nothing crazy, just around town (I live in a smallish but decent sized city).
Probably just to work and back at first which would be around 3-4 miles each way and very flat.
Any recommendations on fairly cheap options while I get into it would be appreciated! TIA.
Hey! So I've had this one bike bottle since like forever but it finally gave in and broke 😢 However! This now means I can get a new one! Has anyone got any recommendations? I've had a look online and the sheer amount of choice is crazy. My only criteria is that it lookes cool, like not just a plain block colour. Thanks!!
Hi, I live in Italy and I have a girlfriend who always uses the bycicle to commute, problem is, she’s had several accidents due to distracted drivers or tram rails that I’m now very worried every time she hops on her bycicle. I’m a motorcyclist myself, I usually wear full protections (meaning helmet, armored gloves, armored jacket, armored pants, armored boots) and I wanted to know if there’s some kind of similar protections (possibly lighter) that you would advise using when riding in the city. She already uses a bycicle helmet and some high visibility bands as well as position lights on her bycicle, but it’s the rest of the body that I’m concerned with. She has no spinal protection, nor arms or knees. Not that those would do much against a SUV, but still.
I tried to convince her to wear her motorcycle gear when on the bike but, understandably, she does not want to since it’s really heavy and restricts movements a bit.

I ordered 3 items, X Novanta Crankset, Dura Ace Chainring and chainring to crankset bolt adapter thing. It was supposed to be delivered late December. I did not receive it. The UPS tracking said the package was damaged and being returned to sender. The tracking then confirmed them getting It back to them on January 9th UPS confirmed it was signed for by an employee named Patton. Then I contacted them and they did not respond to me until the 11th, even after I sent them lots of messages. Keep in mind this is Imessage and I have his direct phone number and he usually responds in a couple hours.
I then told them I would contact PayPal if they couldn't reship the item or refund me. Only then they replied that they would quote "I will have an update for you early next week"
Then, I received a UPS notification saying a new package from the seller cycling upgrades. They did not tell me that they were sending me anything and I checked out the tracking and it said shipped out on the 10th? - I messaged him prior to me knowing about this package and he RESPONDED ON THE 11TH. He did not inform me of this package. I wasn't expecting anything and was concerned the item might be damaged. Not to mention the new package did not match the weight of the old one. It was completely different. I basically declined delivery of this package and asked the seller why they sent it without informing me. They haven't responded since. (Its now Jan 30th.)
This package required delivery, and I wasn't home. They left it at an access point and I ended up not picking it up and letting it be sent back to them. The second one has also been received and signed for by them, this time by Korby V
Both packages have been returned to the sender, and the seller has completely stopped communicating with me. Has anyone gone through anything similar?
I (23M) am an avid bike rider, having ridden my bike on average 10 mi everyday (before 2023 when I started owning a car), and sometimes, exceeding 25 or even 30 in a single day.
If I am good at biking, would it be scary to ride a motorcycle? I am in Vietnam now, and motorcycles remain one of the most reliable forms of transit.
I am paranoid of accidents. My uncle (69M) lost his left leg in 1998 due to a motorcycle accident.
My most recent (really minor) bike accident was in 2020.
Believe to be a Giant Iguana. Seller doesn’t have any better photos. What is the point of the tube connecting the post tube to the top tube? Any cons to this design? I welcome any input on this model, the year, and what a fair price would be. Desperate for a reliable bike I can go 10 miles daily on including dirt roads.
