Hey everyone, first post here. Just getting into cycling, purchased my first expensive bike yesterday (Specialized Diverge E5 Comp… expensive for me).
Anyways, I’ve been into fashion since high school, I’m 26 now. The only thing I’m really drawn to right now is Pas Normal Studios. I think it looks cool, I like the people that ride with it, however, I’m not some sort of speed demon. It feels crazy for me to spend $300+ on some kit intended for riding fast lol.
I still want to look cool… I guess my question is, is it crazy to wear a full lycra kit if you’re riding casually? And like what are some alternatives? Is it wild to wear a bib short with like a vintage tee?
I really love Satisfy Running and District Vision when it comes to branding and style, but are there any brands in the cycling world that feel like that? I also love Braindead which is a little bit different of a vibe.
Please give me some high fashion cycling brands similar to PNS and then some streetwear vibes similar to Rapha/MAAP (but from what I’m hearing, people are starting to hate on Rapha?). Oh, I like Attaquer too, they remind me of Braindead.
Really appreciate the help. Sorry if this is corny. I know I shouldn’t be too worried about how I look this early on but it’s something I enjoy and want to feel good while riding.
Cheers!
Hi folks... I am new to cycling and go for road biking every day (5-6 days a week) around 30km/18 miles and planning to build up my endurance to do longer rides as well.
I basically do it as a hobby and from a fitness point of view, nothing professional. Neither I am planning to go professional.
Your input in this matter will be highly appreciated.
P.s.: Also in your opinion which kind of jersey fit seems cooler to you?
Attached are some race fit jerseys I am planning to buy.
I'm looking forma some brand that offers road body/suits (short sleeves & pockets, no TT). My problem is that I'm looking for something that is not plain black or any dark color OR with a decentpatternn/ print.
And I find it pretty difficult because that's exactly what majority of brands I've seen offer. From Castelli I've seen only black and navy Santini has some pretty awful designs (imo)... So, what are your suggestions?
P.S. dunno if it's relevant but I'm from EU
I guess I’m slightly in between sizes right now.
le Col Medium - fits but maybe slightly loose
Universal colours medium - it zips, but not comfortable at all and a bit too short for my height imo
I’m 6”2 and 73kg, though I bounce between this at 68kg.
Looking for advice on sizing for Isadore and Le Coffee ride Men’s Jerseys, would medium be OK or should I size up like Universal Colours?
It doesn't show as much on the pic as it does live, but you get the idea
Will this issue be solved with white suspenders ? And how "acceptable" is this ? Given it's on the front and the only time it will be noticeable is during breaks as I doubt someone will stick its nose in my chest as I'm riding
The back is entirely navy blue, so no issue there
Has anyone heard of or tried this brand? Marketed as premium Canadian made in Europe. Curious mostly about the bibs!
Trying to find out what cycling sunglasses brand uses a tree as their logo. Saw some today. It as a gold logo fyi.
Shakedry sizing
Hi, i’m wondering what sizing is like on Shakedry jackets. I know they are now discontinued.
I have a 99cm chest and am 180cm tall.
Would size would be best in say gore or rapha shakedry jackets? I’m aware there is limited stretch in the jackets so want to gauge opinions of those that already own them.
Thanks!
I'm a newcommer to bibs after about 10 years of commuting in jeans/shorts and they (both bib shorts and bib tights) have weirdly reinvigorated my love of cycling. However these items of clothing do seem a little flimsy (not the thermal tights from Proviz, but the thinner VAN RYSEL cargo bib shorts). I am worried about being miles away from home and having a split crotch... has this happened to anyone?
Hi there!
I've just received a pair of DMT KR30 shoes I bought yesterday. I think they are the right size when I compare my foot with the insole (adding a couple of images).
But when I lace them up using the BOA system, some wrinkles appear, and I am not sure if it is expected, or if it shouldn't happen. Should I order a smaller size, or maybe this model just doesn't fit my feet?
They look terrific, by the way.
Sorry for the blurriness of the images, those are screenshots of a video I took.
I love the shoes, and can only find a few pairs in LBSs. I've used their online guide and it... confuses me.
I measure my foot size, the length as 257mm and the width as 110mm. So according to the guide, given a +10mm in length, I should have 41.5. I found a pair at one LBS and it feels like it might be too small still. The chart says that if my feet are wider than 105mm, I should go for the wide shoe (which was the one I found at the store).
So, my question is, should I use my 110mm measurement as the minimum width (guide says 44.5 - 45), even though it will be like 20mm longer than my feet? The cleat position will defenitely be an issue with that big difference in length.
Anyone have any experience with this specific shoes, and the guide? All the LBSs don't have stock for larger than the 41.5 and the order time is significantly longer than just ordering it myself online. I know I really shouldn't buy shoes online without knowing my size...

I know it is customized because of all the prints, but maybe someone can identify the brand or model?
I‘m looking for aero jerseys just like this. Or maybe someone knows a similar one?
Which one do you recommend? Kindly share your experiences, pros and cons. Much appreciated.✌️
Currently riding in specialized shoes, it feels pretty good inside the shoe. But I start thinking if I loose a lot of power cos my feet are wayyy to comfortable with the softy inside lol? My first pair and they feel great, but thinking about upgrading to lighter pair more thin and stiff
Tried on a Mechanism bib in Large, fits snugly but well (193 cm 98 kg).
But I'm not a huge fan of the huge (yet reflective) mechanism logo, and the Pro version is €60 more where I live, it has a smaller logo plus sown-in instead of glued-in leg-grippers.
Are the leg grippers more durable on the Pro?
What about overall durability, believe the Pro is lighter?
Would L likely be the right size? (I hear the Pro runs large and the regular small).
Torn between these helmets. I really like all of them, looking to see if anyone can push me towards a decision. I have found sales for all of them between $100 and $150.
Thanks for any help!!
I’ve been cycling for over 20 years and I’ve got a hell of a lot of bikes. I’ve bike commuted daily and cycled for fun every day 10-20 miles a day for fun and also done a bunch of much longer distance things like cycling all over Nederlands and northern France touring. I’ve always just done so in a T-shirt and cotton short shorts. I’ve always wondered what the craze with Lycra is about, please explain, is it more a thing in hot climates where you need to wick moisture. Often in the UK I’m more likely to be found hill climbing in heavy waterproof trousers and a thick jacket than anything thin
hey i'm a beginner cyclist just about getting to the point where i should get some cycling clothes. I wanted to know if this is a good cycling kit in general yk? what do you guys think? are the good options? would you recommend something else? lmk!
i'm 5'11" & 144lbs
Their website seems to be down and it says "refurbished gear launching soon" on the homepage. Hopefully they're not closing the store down for good because that was by far the most value for money gear I could find!
Anyone given these a try?
I’ve been riding a pair of S-Works 7 Wides for about 4 years now. They fit really well and I don’t have any major complaints other than the fact that they are all black and a bit boring looking.
I’m thinking about trying something else that’s a bit less boring but am worried I’ll have to sacrifice fit to get there.
Anyone else go from S-Works 7 Wides to something equally comfortable?
Side note: I won’t do Lake. They burned me on my last pair. Quality was junk.
Ideally looking for something with a bit of padding and tops that are eye catching to cars but not road jerseys or flapping around like a t-shirt.
What’s your favorite casual kit?
My first cycling kit. From Assos, feels really premium. Can’t wait to take for a soon.
— Fitting question, I have some extra room in the belly area but in the chest and arms it’s tight, should I go size down or is it ok and how “club” fit should be? When I’m leaning forward the shirt is has some fold in the belly area.
I tried rapha core jerseys and was a Size S - would suggest same size for pro team jerseys ? Or size up?
