This was my rustiest frame so gave it a paint job that will work well for holiday and 4th of July parades
Hi guys, i am looking for some tires that are flat and 19 inch. I cannot find other tire than Obr Gekok, monty pro race, maxxis creepy crawler, and some old try-all tires. I would like to ride on bmx flat tire but i have 19 inch rim :(
sad story...
One of my favorite things to do is cruise my big wheel (36") down the bike trail along the American River. Its beautiful and the trail is in great condition.
I usually move along at 11-12 mph (6.8-7.5 kph), and a few times I've come upon very fit runners, going in the same direction as me and at very nearly the same pace.
What to do in this situation? If I just maintain speed and pass it takes forever; we could have a conversation and get to know each other in the time it takes to pass. Awkward. I can try and add that last bit of speed, but how long can I maintain it before I pass out and get overtaken, or worse, get too aggressive and spill off the front with an audience.
I don't have a good answer to this so I'm here to ask fellow Reddit unicyclists for thoughts on this specific and awkward situation. How would you handle this?
I saw this once at a unicycle festival and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Basically you pedal as normal but instead of a wheel it has 2 stilt like pegs that move forward. Has anyone heard of this, know what it’s called, or know where to buy one?
A fix for the spring wheel has been determined and will be in the works soon. We are going to take two steel discs and weld them on the hubs axle inside the flange, these discs will have a large flat steel spoke split into two sections connected by a hinge. This spoke will be connected to the steel disc and rim by a hinge, this allows the wheel to stretch but prevent lateral rotation. There will be five of these spokes on each of the two discs for a total of ten, and a wider rim will be used
I have tried a Shock Doctor before, but it was way too bulky and it killed the inside of my thighs, so what groin protection works well for ya'll?
I started learning on a 20" and I've gotten pretty decent. I want to keep learning and trying new things but I can't extend my legs all the way. Im 6'4". Should I get a new larger unicycle like a 24"/26" or should I get a new larger seat post (If so what length)?
So today we learned how to make a 12 person taco and that both lacing pull springs like spokes and pull springs in general are not a viable replacement for spokes. Compression springs would be much better suited to hand horizontal forces and still give vertical movement. Now that we have this information we can use it to make a better version
Today was a beautiful ride on one of my favorite trails, with a really interesting and unexpected dirt detour for a couple miles. Friends, life is good.
What do u think
Adding a tire and testing it tomorrow
Hey everyone,
As the post says. I was sold a 16” unicycle labeled as a 20”. Even extending the seat fully I cannot get a good fit. My legs are almost 90 degrees.
Can I make it rideable long enough to learn how to ride?
I’m not willing to spend a ton of money on something just yet but the problem I’m finding is the lesser expensive ones have weight limits. I’m 225 and most are 200lb limits. Unicycle.com suggested a nearly $300 nimbus but I’m not really feeling that.
I was dreaming about landing one since I saw it for the 1st time
Have ridden about 5 hours at this point. Title pretty much says all
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement I received on my last post! I went out and practiced again today, keeping in mind as much advice as I could. I raised my seat, which helped a ton, but I still need to trust the uni with my weight more. I practiced pushing off the railing into the open space and was able to get a rep out before I fell. I was also able to offshoot from the rail at various angles. Letting the unicycle take me where it wanted and not being afraid of the S motion helped a lot, too. Unfortunately, my best attempts where I was able to get 3 reps by shooting off the railing at an angle and 2 reps pushing off weren't caught on camera, but I was still able to catch 1-2 unassisted reps! Thanks a ton!
I’m a cyclist and wanted to try something different. Here goes nothing!
I've been practicing unicycling for about 5 days now for a combined total of about 4 hours. I'm trying to focus on keeping my posture and work up to unassisted revs. I'm looking for tips on how to improve my stability while riding as well as any other critiques or tips that might come to mind.
New unicyclist, longtime bicyclist. Most of the descriptions for seat height I’ve seen allude to references to belly button and vague references of “almost straight legs,” but I’m relatively tall (6’1ish) but have shorter legs. While learning, I’ve found it seems to tire me more on longer distances than perhaps it should, how many inches between crotch and seat should I have if legs are fully extended and standing at 9 and 3? I’m male and my inseam is 32”, on a 20” Sun Extreme.
