A place to discuss all things bicycle related in Oklahoma City.
Let's go ride! Or just talk. Whatever.

The Hide & Go Bike people are back with the their weekly group rides!
Meet at Mesta Park at 6:00p and roll out at 6:30p, every Thursday.
There were damn near 100 participants last week.
I'm moving to OKC next week, and I'm trying to get a sense of what are safe and accepted practices for getting around on a bike. Do drivers respect bike lanes or bike friendly roads such that I should feel safe riding on the street?
I also saw that "cyclists can’t ride on sidewalks within business districts," is that just the downtown area? And is it safer to ride on sidewalks elsewhere?
Essentially, I'm trying to find the safest and most pleasant way of connecting with dedicated bike trails from downtown.
Draper MTB trails were CLOSED when I went out there today. I figure they'll probably be closed tomorrow as well.
Dirty Bird trails are open, and there's a few campers, but I'm pretty sure I am the sole mountain biker out here right now. I only saw two or three other sets of tracks. Trails are in fairly good shape. There's some fresh washouts in some of the trails, but everything seems pretty dry. A few of the sand pits even got compacted pretty well. THE TICKS ARE OUT OF CONTROL. BRING DEET!
Rode out there today. Weather was a very nice 68 and a light breeze with crystal clear skies. I rode Green, White, Blue, Red, Orange, and part of Yellow.
Blue, Red, and Orange are in great shape. Very little sand. Big sand pit after the rocks on Orange, but I get the sense that's almost always there.
There's a fair number of sandy spots on Green and White. Not a deal killer, but they're out there.
Yellow, which I did last, has tons of sand. I didn't ride the whole thing, cuz I was tired, but the first third was probably damn near 50% sand.
Im sure it'll be better after some rain.
Temps are up, and so are group numbers.
I hear the Saturday morning "Donut ride" is doing okay, any been out since theweather has been nice? Those used to be pretty large groups and nice people.
Also wondering if the Sunday Taco ride from Big Truck Taco is still going, and the Friday Hobo rides from Overholser?
Thanks for any current info.
I’m going camping with some family who all like to ride. But we’re pulling kids so we ride pretty much exclusively on paved trails. Without driving more than about 8 hours from the metro where do people like to go?
Hey! Moving to OKC in two weeks. I'm a dude who just officially became "middle aged". I grew up as a shop rat, and always participated in both roadie and mtb group rides. (covid got me squishy tho) I'm hoping to find a laid-back shop to ride out of in the area. And most importantly - I'd like to make some friends who also enjoy riding.
any suggestions?
I’m trying to get better at climbing for an upcoming long ride with about 2000’ of fairly rapid climb. It’s in a few months and as of now I’m sure I’d die. I can do about 3k’ climb in a 40-mile, but that’s a little at a time.
