Hey all,
I've been wanting an ebike for over five years and am ready to buy one. I love my cheap road bike, but I'm not in great shape and I make excuses for not riding it (hills, 90-105°F heat w/ high humidity, etc)...
Overall wants:
So, I've had my eye on the Calibike 33c3 for years... 33mph top speed (not worried about legality here), 33 lbs, 33 mile range at top speed... 1500w motor, 48v 15a 750wH battery, $2.5k.

But in researching other bikes, I saw the Ride1Up Roadster V3 recommended. It's half the price, looks nicer, and is around the same weight, but looks to be limited to 28mph with a lower range (20-40 miles), and only a 500w motor. 360wH. It's also UL certified.

Price is not a huge concern, but it's a factor if all else is relatively equal. Open to other models as well.
Would it be possible to put a surron seat on a ridstar? I dont like the look of the ridstar seat, so i was wondering if this would be possible.
So I've got a hiboy ex6, and I was about to go for a ride to grab some snacks from the corner store, and as soon as I pull the throttle I hear something weird and the bike feels off, so I stop and look, and the axle is out of it's little slot. I tried putting it back in, thinking it was just loose, and it happens again, but the little silver washer that I guess helps the axle not spin in it's slot on the frame must have gotten fucked up, but I'm not sure. Is my motor done? The threads also got chewed up
I'm a big boy..... bout 395 at 5'11''. I am looking for a bike that can handle my weight, plus my laptop bag and a lunch bag for my daily commute of like less than 5 miles. Ideally I would like it to be able to fold up or fit in my 2009 rav4.
I've found tons of bikes that fit the bill but the brands are all over the place and id rather not roll the dice and gamble on a brand thats just gonna leave me hanging in case something doesn't work. These puppies ain't cheap.
Anyways, you guys seem to be the experts. Show me what you recommend.

The rattling noise is my mudguard against the tire... final year for this Decathlon RockRider 100 beater.
500 watts front motor is the best when it comes to winter riding :
Just wondering if I were to replace the stock throttle with a surron throttle off of AliExpress would it be snappier and more responsive
Does anyone know how to configure a 13s 7p 48volt battery with the 18650 big Samsung cells ?? Can’t find it on YouTube. Thanks
Hi, I just replaced my tires on my ebike and the bead (I think that's what it's called) won't sit right on the wheel. The old and new tires are both 20x4.0 but the old ones say 98-406 and the new ones are 102-406. As far as I can tell, the second set of numbers has to do with weight and not the size of the tire? Anyways, my question is did I get the right tire and install it wrong or get the wrong tires? Also, do I need a different set of inner tubes for the new tires? Thanks.
So I have an Ancheer ebike. Its a great ebike for the price i paid, I have 700 miles on it now. While doing regular maintenance i noticed the rear diskbrake's nuts are loose and 1 missing, good thing i caught it but should have been more vigilant about it. I decided i would upgrade the breaks, as they are not really that good.
I walk into a bike shop asking if they would do it, the first response i got was, "we dont work on ebikes", i said its a normal bike essentially, if i remove the battery (me thinking they have battery hazard related policies) and then drop it, would you work on it? He said we dont work on ancheer bikes, we only work on ebikes we sell.
Now this was shocking, because where i come from, nobody would refuse your business. Unless its a specific brand name shop, which it wasn't its a family owned business.
If any one has any recommendations for good brake system do let me know.
10km commute along a relatively flat route. I already have a banger, roadie & mtb so I'm looking for something low effort that i can commute with when my energy/injuries are steering me away from my banger. Will 1500e (bike2work ticket) do the job for my needs or will I need to add to it. My LBS has suggested the following, but i'm open to travelling/alternatives.

Hey all so my original hubs planetary gears stripped and I bought a new rear hub assembly.
I am trying to put a new SHIMANO hg cassette on. However, when the tire spins the rotor is grinding on the rear frame.
Any thoughts?
I've been seeing people on tiktok swap their ebike kit throttles with surron throttles, is there an actual benefit in response?

I am putting a 1000w conversion kit on my mtb. It will be throttle powered but I am unsure if the pedals will still be able to be used. Does anyone know?
Looking into rear view mirror for my ebike. Most of the local bike shops i been don't have any in stock so i cant really check em out. Anyone has recommendations cause.. your boy is built like a tank with a turn radius of a truck xD
Hello,
I have a Cityrun, and the male connector to the main wiring from the headlights and blinkers has been bent out of shape. I can see on the heybike website I can order the main wiring (female connectors), however I was wondering if there is a replacement for the male connectors or a simple fix. I have already taken it to three bike shops, who say they cannot fix it.
i'm 5'9 155 pounds and i'm looking to get surron light bee is this a good option for me or is it too small?
Is there anything stopping me from using this as my battery?
Its tripple the AH to the average battery and just under tripple the weight. Its also lifepo4 so in theory it should be safer to operate and charge.
48v 10AH ebike specific battery is 9.8 ish pounds
This battery is 30AH and 28.6 pounds.
I know some bikes already have 2 batteries or people carry a spare. In the right bike I could probably mount it inside the frame with some bracketing or just get a rear rack and mount it there.
The wire has detached from the connector socket.
A wider view of the disconnected wire from the front headlight
I bought this Colorway 20'' electric bike, folding e-bike about 3 months ago, and recently, the front headlight wiring got disconnected, as shown images above.
I can see the socket connection, but I'm not sure if I can push the wires back into the connector or if I need to replace the entire cable. The socket is quite difficult to pull apart—does anyone know the best way to safely disconnect it?
Any advice on whether I can fix this myself or if I need to buy a new wire would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
