Would anyone be interested in doing critical mass type rides here in STL? I recently moved here from Alaska, I flew to Chicago and ended up finding a bicycle in Madison Wisconsin and doing a little bike tour from there. About 15 years ago in my hometown of Kalamazoo Michigan we didn't really have any critical mass rides going on, so we started making flyers and having loosely organized rides. I don't know a whole lot about the city besides what I've explored doordashing, and I know we probably don't have too many nice Fridays left to do it, but I guess I just wanted to see if there was any interest out there. Thanks y'all!
Going to see Back to the Future at the Fox today and it has been a long time since I’ve caught a show. Do y’all have a favorite place to lock up? I know there is a parking garage around the corner but I wasn’t sure if there were racks inside or not.
Thanks in advance!
Looking for some routes, gravel or paved or both. Using my gravel bike for this trip. Will be staying in the area for the weekend as well so if there is somewhere worth driving to on the weekend to ride I don't mind at all, preferably nothing more than 4hrs away. Training for an ultra endurance race so hit me with what you guys have.
Pedal the Cause is an awesome event raising money for cancer research, and takes place next weekend. Rides range from 10 to 100 miles. Even though the event is just around the corner, participants have until Oct. 31 to meet the fundraising target ($375-$500 depending on the distance you do).
Bubba cross starts in a month and the Alton series is already underway! Cross is the best, and these are great events for newbs and vets alike.

Besides Katy / Hamburg / Busch wildlife, what other gravel trails are people riding? Any groups rides? Shop sponsored events?
Gateway Cup is happening this weekend. If you've not been, crits are good fun to spectate!
Hey all,
I'm a Chicagoan who spends a lot of time down in St Louis, and I'm hoping to bring my cycling club to the area sometime soon for an adventure. Was hoping to connect with one of the local shops beforehand and wanted to see if there is any shop that you'd think of as an "Adventure" shop (somewhere that has a focus on Gravel/Bikepacking).
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hey everyone. I ride my bike occasionally from home near Kingshighway and Chippewa to my office downtown near Washington and 10th. I’ve never found a good route (particularly for crossing the interstates) and was hoping yall might have some ideas. Every way I’ve tried is a pain in the ass, even the new bike lane on Jefferson, which I was excited about. But it‘s terrible biking before and after that tiny stretch of dedicated bike lane. I’m pretty comfortable biking in traffic but not on Jefferson lol. Recently I’ve just been biking up to the CWE Metrolink and taking it in, but I’d rather bike the whole way. Thanks for any suggestions.
Is premier gone?? I don’t see an option for it…
On northbound S. Holmes Ave. in Kirkwood just past the north end of Grant's Trail is a short but steep hill with a railroad crossing at the top. Given that immediate dismounting is challenging on a steep hill, especially with shoe clips or cages, how much time is available after the crossing bell begins before the gates come down? It takes some time to climb the hill.
Other thoughts?
I have been seeing updates and photos around about flooding in the area. Is there a good resource for real-time information about the area? (I've googled and preplexity'd it and was looking for more of a locals go to.)
I have been riding the Busch Memorial area and wondered if there is a hike-a-bike or if it is totally unrideable.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Tomorrow, the Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing dedicated to exploring the use of the Rams Settlement for pedestrian-friendly street design (which at least possibly includes protecting bicyclists). In-person and virtual attendance are both possible, as are written comments. For more info on the meeting, see: https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/events/eventdetails.cfm?Event\_ID=43302.

Hello All,
I'm in a situation where I can't wash my bike by hand at home. I was curious if there are any car washes in the city that have the old school drive in with a spray gun.
There is one on McCausland but it has been closed for weeks.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Update: Thanks everyone!
The Trailnet ride is on 7/7 and out in Edwardsville, IL.
There is a 10, 24, 34 and 51 mile route. I went last year and it was a pretty casual ride.
I’m wanting to get into road cycling more. I need some help on determining some good routes to go on. St. Louis doesn’t have the best attitude towards bikers nor are the bike lanes that great. I’ve heard Clayton rd is good or somewhere near wildwood.
Any suggestions ? Around 20-30 miles ?
If you have a picture of a route that’d be very helpful!
Thanks.
The date has been released last week and it'll be on 8/17/24.
Let's hope it's not a repeat of last year and it won't get cancelled.
… Sincerely. My name is Edd I lost my wallet downtown StL. Riding my blue beach cruiser bicycle. Very personal things I’d love to get back. Even though, I know, it’s gone… figured I’d try ANYTHING. This In good Faith, it’ll be cool if I could get it back. Can’t offer anything but a blessing towards you Thank you -Edd
Been awhile since I've been up there. Still Thursday nights?
Now that summer is in full swing, if you're looking for a group ride, this (mostly up-to-date) spreadsheet is a useful place to start:
Hello STL cyclists!
I‘d deeply appreciate some advice on the best ways to get from the downtown Amtrak station (by Clark and 14th) to the Katy Trail in St Charles. Coming from Chicago so completely unfamiliar with STL biking infrastructure, and we know that Google bike directions aren’t always great. Any good side street routes would be preferred, but I can put up with busier streets long as there’s some kind of lane or decent shoulder for bikes. Thanks so much for any help!
Just moved back to the city. Near forest park. Had a great ma and pa bike shop up in chicago where I bought all my parts and gear. Looking for somewhere to get economy tires tubes and other parts. Big shark seems expensive and so does maplewood. Anyone got any tips? Thanks!
Hey there. I made a few videos earlier this year after visiting St. Louis and I'd like to make some more while I'm here again. I really enjoy highlighting the greenways. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
