I got these from China Zniino for my monster gravel project. They just looked a bit suspect the were packaged.
Hey gang. Im looking at some 90s MTBs and hybrids in my area, trying to find a frame to build up a fun gravel grinder, nothing crazy.
There is no shortage of Trek Mountaintracks and Singletracks in butted CroMo like we all love. I have a 920 that I really like already.
But a Marin San Rafael caught my eye, it isnt a 90s frame, maybe 2000s or even newer, its got 700c wheels with what looks like enough clearance to fit tires in.
My only concern is the frame is 7005 aluminum alloy which I don’t know anything about! I’ve got this idea in my head where Im wary of preowned aluminum frames, though Im not sure I need to be. I’m asking you all to assuage my fears and either tell me to send it and snatch it up or pass on it for a sick GT or 800 series Trek.
Your thoughts please! Is old-ish aluminum too scary and better to stick with steel or am I making this to be a much bigger deal than it really is?
I’m sick of looking at her torpedo7 step through.
P.s., Can’t guarantee I’ll follow through.
Berm Peak did a great video on the new Buffalo by World Bicycle Relief. One of the things it has is a 2 speed kickback! It was designed by SRAM and should be super durable and reliable. I haven’t been this excited about a bike component in a long time!
I don’t know if the part will be available to regular consumers, but I am definitely going to email WBR and ask! I’d love to build a bike around this 2 speed.
I know Sturmey has a 2speed but this one is just cool!
Picked this up at Play It Again Sports yesterday. It’s a bit dirty and ratty but I expect will clean up nicely. I got them down to $75 because the fork needs rebuilding/servicing, and the grime on the parts allowed me to convince them that no one else would want it, which actually could be true since most people aren’t into old bikes that need work.. Fortunately I have a nice vintage Fox fork and a Marzocchi Bomber fork that I can use instead. I have a donor bike that has all the parts I will need to make this a great vintage trail bike.
Hey guys, was wondering what you call these frame straps for carrying your bike on your shoulder. A friend just picked this up and was wondering how much he could ask for it.
Is there any? Found only reverse components but surely there is other options as well?
