Hi all!
I am currently working on my undergraduate honours thesis. My survey is available on the universities participation pool website in exchange for class credit. We are aiming for 600 participants, however, there has recently been a decline in student participation. My timeline is limited and we are concerned that we will not reach the amount of participants we're aiming for. We currently have 20 responses and only one month left for data collection.
I am aware of online platforms that allow for the use of their participation pool with purchase. The issue is, I have a specific target sample (Canadian undergraduate students) and only personal funding (which is limited) for purchasing responses. I am curious if anyone has any suggestions for additional participant recruitment methods.
Thank you so much!

I am really worried as it's almost difficult to get into canadian uni for masters with low cgpa. In my case am in last semester of software eng with a current cgpa of 2.4/4, from one of the top tier of uni of pakistan COMSATS. As the grading in my uni is different as comapred to other uni's in pak. We have a 4 gpa on getting 90 marks as compared 85 in other uni's. Also we have absolute marking. So my question here could i apply for masters in canada with this cgpa or i have to improve my cgpa by improving my subjects. For this i have to go with extra 9th semester. I am also confused in this by taking extra this will effect my degree as well as my chances for applying in canada for masters

I'm from the US and interested in moving to Canada--I'm trying to decide if a student visa or employment visa would be the best route. I've started my career in university housing and would like to continue it, but when I look for academic-related jobs it all comes up with research/teaching posts. What's the market for those jobs like?
(If this isn't the right place for this question, let me know!)

In the 2021/2022 academic year, Indigenous students represented approximately 5% of students newly admitted to programs offering the five main postsecondary educational qualifications (career, technical or professional training certificate; career, technical or professional training diploma; undergraduate degree; master’s degree; and doctoral degree). This latest release on new entrants to postsecondary education provides the number of new students in Canada by Indigenous identity, educational qualification, field of study, age group and gender.
Here are some highlights:

Hi folks, my name is Jai Hardy, I am a Research Coordinator at Sheridan College, and along with my Research Supervisor, Bethany Osborne, we are doing a research study on student usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in higher education here in Canada. The purpose of the study is to understand how students currently attending higher education in Canada interact with AI in assignments and evaluation, focusing on ethical versus unethical uses. A better understanding of how students in Canada are interacting with this emerging technology in higher education will help to shape the future development guidelines and practices that prioritize ethical AI use in higher education, ultimately aiming to prepare students for a successful future in an AI-influenced world.
We are seeking current students enrolled in Canadian higher education such as College, University, or Private Career College to complete an anonymous online survey that should take 10-15 minutes of your time, participation is voluntary. Any questions about participating should be directed to either co-investigator. The results of the study will be shared in an aggregate manner with no identifying information. If you're interested in taking part, click on this link for more details and to fill out the survey, or scan the QR code.
Please feel free to share this information along with the attached poster and link to the survey to anyone you know attending a Canadian higher education institute who might be interested participating in this anonymous study.

I have never felt like this in my life, but I am having a full-on existential crisis about what to do. I live in Vancouver Canada and I was accepted to McGill, Western, Queens, UVic and SFU all for a bachelor of arts in Psychology I'm waiting for back from my #1 choice, UBC....
I got into SFU with a $40,000 scholarship but I'm worried I do not like the school... So that in itself is a problem. I feel like I don't like the architecture and the students tend to be very introverted/awkward there for some reason. But, at that school, I want to switch from psychology to either labour studies or economics.
If I go into economics I will have a way better career trajectory and more lucrative opportunities + I decently enjoyed economics in high school, however, university economics is way harder of course. I am usually really bad with numbers and I am currently only getting a 60% in Foundations 11 and 12 while all my other courses are generally 90%-100%. The good thing is I can switch to Economics first year because they don't have a pre-calculus prerequisite like other schools do, but they have Calculus 1 for social sciences which frightens me + the other hard math courses. I would need to maintain a high GPA to maintain the scholarship too.
If I go into Labour Studies, I feel as if I will enjoy my degree a lot. I enjoy the courses they offer and it looks interesting to me, but I will be pigeonholed to HR-type jobs and I won't make a lot of money. I want to be financially set and even wealthy, and the absolute most I could make would be $200,000 if I got this degree and my masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
Or I could throw away the scholarship and SFU entirely and do Psychology at a higher-ranking school such as McGill or Queens....
Overall, I want to make the right decision and I want to do well for myself financially. I am freaking out so badly I can't eat. Even if there are any degrees I have never heard of that you think might be good for me, just let me know anything. If you have any suggestions please let me know it would be appreciated more than words can say. Thank you!
I would like to apply for a master's in Environmental engineering, but i don't know which university to consider my top option: Concordia or McGill? in terms of acceptance rate, funding, experience in general, etc (also i'm an international student so i'm also looking for a good international experience lol)

Hey everyone!
I recently landed a summer internship in a research lab and secured the NSERC CRSNG Bursary worth 6000 CAD. As part of the requirements, the supervisor is expected to pay at least 25% of this amount.
During our initial discussion about the bursary, my supervisor expressed the need for additional funding beyond the 25%, and I want to approach this conversation well-prepared.
For those with experience in academia , could you share your insights on how much I should consider asking my supervisor for the remaining stipend? I want to ensure that the request is fair and reasonable without falling into any pitfalls or being taken advantage of.
Your advice and experiences would be incredibly helpful as I navigate this aspect of my summer internship. Thanks in advance!
A researcher from Vancouver Island University (VIU) is currently interested in the effects of coaching on athlete's performance in sports. The researcher is looking for Canadian athletes aged 19 or older involved in a team or individual sports, who compete in competitions, have a coach, and are not out for injury. The survey will ask participants about their perceptions of their coaches and perceptions of themselves. The survey will examine the role of coaching in athletes' well-being and performance. The questionnaire will take approximately 20 minutes to complete using SurveyMonkey, accessible via the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/55WHXSN.

Hello! My name is Fernanda. I'm a third-year writing and journalism student at the University of Victoria.
I'm writing a News Feature about the impact of course experience surveys. Here is a previous article written by me centering on this issue: https://martlet.ca/uvic-course-experience-surveys-shed-light-on-cyberbullying/
I'm reaching out to any teaching staff/professors/instructors in hopes that someone would be available for a short interview as I extrapolate this local UVic issue to the nationwide Canadian university system.
The interview would be around 15 minutes and audio-recorded, If you are interested, please let me know, and we could move forward with scheduling to your preference.
