I have just recovered the long-lost holy book of Nonniq Gos, a compendium of divine knowledge revealed to the Yoslanders on CivRealms. This book reveals ancient truths about the universe, and shows you how you can lead a righteous life in alignment with the Spirit of Wisdom. Truly the Wisdom that Ostracod gave us is immortal, and it was destined for the knowledge to be recovered. "Do not stop looking until you find." (Proverbs 1).

I plan to build multiple churches of Nonniq Gos in Mt. Augusta, where people can practice the faith and explore the depths of their soul. I will be distributing copies of the Book for free as well as offering it for sale at different shops in town. Announcement from the Office of the Mayor of Mount Augusta

My fellow Citizens of Mount Augusta,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone that participated in the Election. Mt. Augusta has always striven to be a paragon of democracy within Civ, and for the past eleven years we have not strayed from that goal, running countless free and fair elections to deliver the will of the people. It is a great honour that the Augustans I hold in such high regard have trusted me to deliver their will. I would like to thank our previous Mayor, ComradeNick , for his words and support, for the peaceful transfer of power, and above all his service and commitment to the people of Mt. Augusta. I would also like to thank our esteemed Judges Mallace, Pookie_Kins and Logic_Man for their encouragement, as well as everyone else who voted and registered. It is a testament to Augusta's commitment to open democracy that allows people like me, passionate people who care about the future of Mt. Augusta, to take part in its government and help steer our ship - and a ship as big as ours takes many hands to steer.

In the immediate present there are several projects and plans already in motion to secure MtA's security and community. One of my approaches in ensuring this security will be in appointing our former mayor ComradeNick as Deputy Mayor. Nick has put a lot of work into a proposed overhauling of our current constitution along with the input of Augusta's Justices, building strong relationships with many world leaders, and recruiting new players - I feel it is imperative that he be allowed to continue this work for the good of Mt. Augusta, and will be taking an advisory approval vote shortly to confirm the support of my decision to appoint ComradeNick as Deputy Mayor of Mt. Augusta, my previous and now vacated role. As Deputy Mayor Nick will provide a familiar face to foreigners and MTA citizens alike, and we will be in a stronger position to continue the extensive and necessary work that he has done in his tenure.

Looking to the future of Mount Augusta, I see a lot of work ahead. The state of the Civ genre is as ever shaky, our sister colony on CivReign having wound down for the time being due to overall server population concerns, and the political atmosphere here on CivMC is fraught with tension due to our bipolar world. It is important in times like these that we are able to be strong, together, and that we understand what we're capable of as a community. To paraphrase the great MtA diplomat and former Mayor, Sami F. Ghani,

"Augusta is at a crossroads. We've always been a place on the server where everyone is welcome and you can try new things. I'm proud that we have a formalised justice system, and I'm proud that our city feels lived in. But it is difficult doing things against the grain in this server. It can be tiring. It can be a lot of work. It can be unrewarding and depressing. I want to bring back that Augustan spirit that we all used to feel, the bonds that unite us together as one, when being an Augustan meant something. It meant helping your neighbor and being proud of the great place you were from. Augusta is only as great as we make it, together."

I have no new dream to set forth today, but rather urge a fresh faith in the old dream. That Augusta can be as great as we make it; that it will grow as large as we build it; that Mt. Augustas law, the law of the people, will bring them peace. We don't define success as a long sword and an empty room, but as a long speech at a full table. Only together can we continue to grow the Mt. Augusta that we dream of, that we have seen grow to unparalleled heights in the past, and with our efforts - your efforts - we can reach those heights and achieve our dream. Mount Augusta (aka MtA) known is the oldest continuously existing nation on the civ genre, an experiment in democratic government, rule of law, and property rights since 2012.

Founded 11 years ago as a small walled settlement on a hill Mount Augusta grew to be the largest nation on 1.0 Civcraft with a diverse community of all political stripes and has existed on every Civ iteration since, building sprawling trade-oriented cities with a signature eclectic style. Mount Augusta prides itself on its relatively open democratic system of government with regular mayoral and judicial elections, a constitution, legal code, and courts to mediate civil and criminal matters.

Mount Augusta represents a familiar home to many old players returning to Civ as well as a great start for those newer to this genre of servers, a society of constant revision, reconstruction, reimagination, and a land of opportunity for all. Greetings fellow patriotic Augustans, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reelecting me as your Governor. It is an honor to serve the nation I have called home for a decade. I will not fail you in my capacity, and I once again pledge my undying and undivided allegiance to her constitution, people, and flag.

When I announced my candidacy this time I genuinely thought the election would be much closer than it ended up being. I once again thank the Old Party of Mount Augusta for their endorsement and the support of their party members in this election as well as the broader voting citizenry of the country. I also wish to thank all three sitting judges (Asakuun, Cattus, and wFang) for their endorsement as well as the endorsement of the outgoing judge, MaleFeminist. I would like to give my thanks to my cabinet for supporting me as well and a very special thanks to Secretary of Labor SocialistBelle for her endorsement as well which was really kind and probably one of the nicest things someone has said about me in the context of Civ.

Being reelected by probably one of the highest margins in the history of our great nation is a great honor and I feel I have the mandate to move forward with the constitutional convention which will conclude in about two weeks as well as implement an agenda that will leave my successor with a stable and vibrant democracy.

I’d like to give my official unabashed unreserved endorsement for the candidacy of Comradenick.

Many scandalous things have been said about him by many people. All of it false. But im not addressing those claims.

I want to tell you things I personally know to be true about Nick.

He’s been incredibly kind and supportive of me as a person and I consider him to be a real friend.

Nick is one of the most caring people I have met in my life. Not just in Civ, but my real whole life. I’ve worked with real-life politicians who care less about their work and constituents than Nick does about MTA and the people in it, and that is not an exaggeration.

Nick has put an incredible amount of time and effort into this nation. Do I like everything he’s done? No, anyone who’s heard us in VC knows we fight like an old married couple about almost everything. But I know he wants the best for MTA and has put in the work to back it up.

To deny that he’s materially helped MTA would be a lie.

1. He’s helping rewrite a fundamentally broken constitution and put it to a democratic vote.
2. He’s invested massively into the security of MTA with the construction of a proper bunker funded almost entirely by his own wealth.
3. He’s been a leader in coordinating and funding massive infrastructure investments and a new proper factory room.
4. He’s helped form a non-aligned movement of states to diplomatically protect MTA from foreign aggression.
5. He helped solve the food crisis through the creation of multiple public farms.
6. He’s personally and by hand done the vast majority of the bureaucracy needed for the government and elections of MTA to run.
7. He’s personally helped almost every single person in the nation. If you need something and are being kind and honest. Nick will lend a hand.

He has a clear, compassionate well-reasoned vision for the future of MTA with the ability to back it up.

So as Cupboard of Labor, as an Irl Political Scientist, and as an Augustan, I implore you to vote for Nick.

Greetings fellow patriotic Augustans, I am making this post to announce my candidacy for reelection to the position of Governor of Mount Augusta on CivMC. I have run before and you can see my original post here. As I have expressed my personal philosophy and qualifications in that post I recommend reading it but I wish to explain what I have done as Governor in this term, the challenges of this term, and detail plans for a second term.

Why I am Running

I am running because I still believe I would be the best candidate for the job and out of service to the people and government of Mount Augusta. I have done a lot with this term and I feel that there is more that I can do to better Mount Augusta and I do not want to leave anything unfinished. Frankly I am also not sure that there's anyone else that is able or willing to do this job. As Governor you are not only in charge of diplomacy, maintenance of infrastructure, but also must delegate responsibilities and where responsibilities cannot be delegated perform them yourself. I am not sure that there's anyone necessarily prepared to perform these duties in general and thus feel obligated to run again.

My Term as Governor

If you wish to read what I have done each day there is a document you can read that I have updated fairly regularly that shows my actions as Governor. Whether you agree or disagree with them, I have been an active member of the government, and I believe I have performed my basic duties satisfactorily. A lot of this term has been spent fixing a lot of problems, putting out fires, and I think in another term I can enact policies to improve Mount Augusta in an additive and constructive manner.

As I discussed in my original post announcing my candidacy the first time around I mentioned that I would be a very diplomacy focused Governor. In the last month I have been heavily focused on diplomacy. I have reached out to various different countries, assisted others, joined organizations on Mount Augusta's behalf all to improve our diplomatic standing.

I recently appointed Njordomir to be the Secretary of Infrastructure as I saw a need for it. Roads have been built and will continue to be built. A new factory building as well as a new voter tree were built by the excellent builder and Secretary of Culture CutePastelStars.

I have collaborated with TabbyBlue on the diplomacy that I have mentioned and he has been an excellent diplomat.

I have worked with Pastel on the aforementioned projects among other things that have improved Mount Augusta internally and externally.

I have worked with Secetary of Labor SocialistBelle on a number of things and she has been indispensable in updating the Civclassics Constitution and creating farms as well as providing a much needed voice in government to provide another often differing opinion on various matters.

As for collaboration with our excellent Judges I have less to say because their domain is the courts and my role in legal matters under this constitution is limited to a tie-breaking vote in appellate cases which is a rare occurrence. I have basically left them to handle the judicial matters but added them to a vault group as admins to access and fuel pearls. I really do not want to interfere in judicial matters and want to remain impartial in the rare event of a tie-breaking vote in an appellate case so I generally do not keep track of court cases that do not directly concern me as a party.

My Plans as Governor

Constitution

In my first term we have started the Constitutional Convention to write a new constitution based on the last version of the Civclassics constitution. It has been a long process, longer than I would have originally liked but in recent days we have made excellent progress and I believe that the Convention is nearing its conclusion. There has been a lot of different input involved in writing the document and I would like to continue it with the conclusion of the judge elections.

The document so far has been updated to involve the use of Discord instead of reddit, although we may go back through it a second time and allow for the publicization of bill results, election results etc. on Reddit as well. Additionally we have discussed the improvement of language and cut out parts that do not make sense in the current day. We have reordered the articles to make sense more as voting should probably not be the first article but rather something like establishing our legal and constitutional jurisdiction and then property. Overall much of the language has been preserved to maintain a continuity with the old Mount Augusta while improving upon it.

There has been lots of discussion and even debate around a number of proposals and compromise between the drafters has been reached on issues of citizenship and voting rights, renting, property rights and dereliction, as well as how much our Constitution is a continuity with this current one. Pending a vote on a final draft, the Constitution will likely include:

• Improvement of language regarding property, property rights, and dereliction.

• Setting a minimum definition of property

• Reforming the process of renting to some degree or another.

• Several measures to mitigate the influence of and highly discourage foreign vote brigades

If reelected I fully intend to introduce this Constitution as a formal bill vote to be approved by 3/5s of the voters. If this constitution passes then we will have greater continuity of our history and traditions with the original Mount Augusta with many improvements that will avoid the pitfalls of old.

Diplomacy

I have been very diplomacy-focused as of late, in particular regarding the issue of our safety and security and have been working to improve our image, security arrangements, and maintain our historic neutrality.

Mount Augusta joined the Non-Aligned Movement as one of its founding members and I have taken an active role in that organization, in assisting in the wording of the charter, and was instrumental in the introduction and voting in favor for a denunciation of obby bombing. Mount Augusta's involvement in this organization is a good thing and no matter who is Governor I would like to see it remain part of the organization.

In my previous candidacy announcement I have previously spoken about the need for graduated bilateral diplomacy and while I still believe that is a method it is not the method in all cases of diplomacy. There is a tendency to veer into multilateralism and foreign entanglements contrary to bilateralism but I believe there's a middle way and it is called hub and spokes architecture or the San Francisco System. It is utilized by the United States in Asia and the Pacific and the general treaty structure would benefit us.

With this in mind I have been working on a charter for an organization called the Mount Augusta Friendship Organization or MAFO. The purpose of this organization is to provide mutual defense in the event of a war of foreign aggression on our soil between us and other countries but not necessarily between our allies. The reason for this is to allow various different countries who may not share common interests but otherwise desire to defend Mount Augusta to work towards that goal. I have already received informal security guarantees from several countries and interest in the proposal. The treaty is broken into two separate degrees of involvement in the organization that encompass support as a belligerent in active defense of Mount Augusta and a non-belligerent who provides diplomatic support among other things. With this organization the informal security guarantees will be formalized and will provide for assurances for Mount Augusta in the event of an attack on our sovereignty.

In addition to the Non-Aligned Movement and the Mount Augusta Friendship Organization I have improved our standing with some groups and helped out some new groups like MaSuno in Reggio Argeddina. I intend to do more of this in the future.

Defense

I have spoken about defense somewhat but I have never detailed plans for obvious reasons. My goal with defense is to make Mount Augusta more secure for its citizens, improve our natural defensibility, and to discourage Mount Augusta being used as a battlefield. I do not think Mount Augusta can be a major power nation with a massive vault that rivals the main world powers but I do think we can take steps to improve our defenses. On every road we can have a trap door with a water drop to a tunnel to escape fights, the canal trap can be made but the biggest thing we can do is build a vault. A vault creates opportunities as well as problems but I believe the benefits outweigh the downsides. A vault would improve our standing on the world stage and command respect as well as provide a natural deterrence factor to anyone who wishes to infringe on our sovereignty. Vaults can also make a country a target but the trick is to be a good diplomatic actor and negotiate in good faith.

If a defenses are to be improved we will need to man our defenses and part of that is creating some sort of fighting force that can coordinate with allied countries. This force will be called the Mount Augusta National Guard and it will have a formal military structure. I have already spoken to several citizens and inducted some who have applied in at the rank of Private. A formal commander will be needed but all members of the National Guard will be forced to take an oath to defend the constitution and be under control of the civilian government.

Improvement of Builds and Appearance

There have been offers given to several citizens to create new builds for them if they wish which some like theJmqn have accepted, and we can contract excellent builders like Pastel to make them. I think we can improve the overall appearance of the town drastically and once the new constitution is passed we can probably start filling out the city more with some great builds to add to some already great looking ones.

One of the best looking parts of town is New Phoenix headed by our wonderful Diplomat TabbyBlue. He and his people have created something that is truly a sight to behold and have improved Mount Augusta immensely.

An application was submitted for Mount Augusta for the competition for the Tricon Industries corporate headquarters and I have secured a location for it and I believe we stand a good chance of winning. It is important that this building look large, imposing, but also good.

Mass Recruitment

Mount Augusta recently has seen players leave, go inactive, quit and that is a natural part of the life cycle of a city of our size. We have seen several new and old players join recently and I believe we can improve upon our recruitment for our great city. I intend to work with Jmqn, who has had past successes in recruiting on reddit and I intend on recruiting from various different sources for players of different origins, playstyles, interests, languages etc. If the recruitment drive is successful we will find more people interested in law who can be lawyers and judge candidates, players of different national and identity backgrounds who can improve on the already excellent diversity we have, and players of different playstyles that can complement and add onto what we have. If nothing else recruitment can add to CivMC as a whole and create several new groups but we can definitely utilize recruitment to breathe new life into our democracy and legal tradition.

Philosophy and Some Final Words

In my previous announcement I concluded by saying the following:

I am an Augustan patriot. I believe that Mount Augusta serves as an institution of Civ and want it to succeed. I have long admired Mount Augustan principles such as the rule of law and equality under the law as well as its dedication to the rights of property owners. I believe these things must be upheld and protected for all to enjoy in the future.

I still believe this to be true and I still believe the rest of what I have written in the philosophy section of my post. I believe that foreign influence is a problem in general and we should mitigate the influence of foreign vote brigades with the new constitution and legal code while maintaining our history of an international and cosmopolitan center of population and trade.

I will say however there has been a consistently bad faith and reactionary rhetorical use of our tradition of minarchy and I am opposed to that. I believe we should move closer to a minarchy in some aspects while also recognizing our fundamental and practical needs. We can maintain the aspects of minarchy that include a non-intrusive government while allowing for things like basic government functions. I recently joined a Libertarian discord (two actually but the first one banned me immediately, so much for free speech I guess), and I spoke to them about the idea of a Treasurer and a Treasury so it wasn't just me paying for everything, as well as about government property. They explained their conception of a "minarchy" and what it entailed and under their strict definition Mount Augusta is not a minarchy nor has it ever been. They said that according to traditional three prong Libertarian minarchy we were actually closer to an anarcho-capitalism in our past and that our recent trends have made us become more of a regular state. I think that is fine by me but I am against using minarchy as some cudgel to wave around anytime anyone wants to do anything. Technically they told me that a Treasurer as well as a military would be fine and is actually necessary to satisfy their definition.

Either way I do not care if we satisfy some narrow definition imposed from outside. We should keep the things that work like a constitution with fundamental rights afforded to all citizens as well as democratically elected government respectful of those rights. We should not limit ourselves unnecessarily though by constantly saying "that's not minarchy though". Mount Augusta in its early history was what it was but there was definitely the view that Mount Augusta could be something different regardless. We should err towards caution and keep with our traditions but we need not let tradition stop us from doing what needs to be done.

I am running for Governor again and I would appreciate your support. There's a lot that can be done, a lot that needs to be done but together, united we can do it.

As per Article I C. 5 with the approval of Judges Asakuun and Cattus_ the following players have been barred from citizenship in Mount Augusta:

These individuals are part of the nations of Venne and ParadIce. On numerous occasions they have expressed that the sole purpose of these countries was to "get away from MtA". This became a problem when Mount Augusta voted to add its own Ice Shelf claim north of the CdM Ice Shelf claim which borders both Venne and ParadIce. It was expressed publicly that the claim would be for government xp farms and a settlement for newfriends and they did everything they could to stop this.

First these individuals voted against the bill proposal to claim the land for no other reason than that they did not want it bordering their foreign nation. They expressed that they had interest in the land for future expansion of their own claims. They also expressed that the land was impassable and we probably wouldn't want it anyways which is strange considering they wanted it obviously.

Second after the vote was ratified these individuals very quickly claimed all the land as their personal property in #property-registration in Mount Augusta discord all within a minute of each other dividing the entire claim between all of them in very large segments. Note, there's no limit to size of property registrations in mta law currently.

Third, after this occurred these individuals introduced a bill to "unclaim" the southern ice shelf claim from MtA.

All of this combined you can easily see a conspiracy and a motive. The conspiracy was to use everything in their power in Mount Augusta to undermine the government's efforts to use the land in a productive manner that would benefit Mount Augusta, to claim the land to devalue it to us, then attempt to unclaim the land so that the land could be annexed by their respective nations for expansion.

I tried giving these individuals a chance in the Reconciliation and Dialogue Forum where I thought some genuine progress was made and we could possibly come to a compromise on a number of issues. That's not the case. These people are petty, divisive, and working in the interests of their friends countries and not Mount Augusta.

It is for these reasons that we chose to use this part of the constitution that frankly shouldn't even exist, because there was no other method available to the government of Mount Augusta to deal with an issue like this exact one.

I implore all Mount Augustans to vote in favor of a constitutional convention to fix the constitution once and for all.

I was recently appointed to be the Secretary of Labor for MT Augusta. I'd like to talk to you all about my plans as Secretary in pursuance of transparency.

I’d firstly like to thank my dear friend Comradenick for appointing me. It’s a true honor. While I and Comradenick disagree on a number of items and have had conflicts in the past, I respect him deeply and believe in his commitment to MT Augusta and believe the same from him. And thank you to y’all for confirming my nomination. I do not take this lightly and am dedicated to exercising the people's will in my work.

I’d like in this post to introduce you all to some of my prospective ideas for improving the rights and well-being of laboring Augustana, while also improving the economic engine of MT Augusta.

Firstly however I’d like to present some of my background and qualifications. While I go by a different username now, I have been a part of MTA on and off now from around 6 years starting in devoted 2.0. I have in my time, opened multiple homeless shelters to support newfriends, created and headed a Brewers Guild to consolidate and share knowledge within that profession, and worked to protect vulnerable populations from harassment.

I also have an irl Bachelor's degree in Public Policy specializing in Labor Policy which I pursued due to my introduction into politics through Civ servers. (

My potential program for MTA pending further conversations with Nick, the rest of the cabinet, and the citizenry will prioritize the following:

1:Wider Access to Publicly Owned Factories: A number of citizens have expressed frustration with how limited access to the public factories is, and I’d like to make it easier to access the factories in a streamlined way through the ticket system. This not only will make life easier for new friends and all laborers, but it also boosts the general economy of MTA since factories will make resource and material production many times more efficient.

2: Food production: I believe MTA has been having trouble facing food shortages due to a lack of public farms. As seen in recent posts, I have pursued the MTA government acquiring farmland for public use to feed the people. Every moment a laborer needs to worry about a full belly makes them less able to contribute.

3: Care for aging members (very old friends): The creation of a social security program and old folks home particularly for our distinguished LT. Governor is a vital need for MT. Augusta.

4: Cross-national information-sharing networks and easy-access databases:

While there are discussions to be had about improper influence by foreign governments, I hope we all can also agree that it’s very important for MTA to have good respectful fair relations with surrounding nations in order for it to prosper. I have seen that there are many laborers who are lacking knowledge, such as which factories to use for what product, where to acquire certain goods, what levels or biome to mine at most efficiently etc.

I think information sharing agreements of non-security contingent information between nations with the creation of databases with information on different subjects would help educate our laborers in many different fields and help build up a trading economy. A possible model would be the creation of guilds for different industries.

I’d love to talk with y’all about your thoughts on my plans, and any ideas or concerns you have to make the experience of laboring in MT Augusta better!

When I first announced my candidacy I did not think I had a real chance at winning, I thought maybe at best I would come in second place to my fellow candidates. It was only once I began calculating in a spreadsheet in my party's Discord that it became apparent that I not only could but most likely would become the next Governor. I thank the Old Party of Mount Augusta for their endorsement and the support of their party members in this election. I would like to thank in particular machinemaker and citylion for tabulating votes and assisting me in contacting voters. I also thank a considerable broad international voting contingent from across the world who while living in Mount Augusta decided I would be a good fit for the office and a good representative of our nation that is open to the world.

This election has not been without controversy or division however. I understand people's concerns, and I wish to address them. To the best of my knowledge at this current time, I do not think dual citizens had a significant enough effect on the election in my favor, however data may come out to the contrary. If this was the case then it was not my intention. I repeatedly said I want to win with sole-Mount Augusta-citizens alone. Furthermore, contrary to what some have said I did not not propose my preferred constitutional changes in order to exploit the constitution, I simply didn't think there would be any support and that debate on the matter would be stifled. Everything I have done with regards to dual citizen Augustans has been out in the open, legal, and constitutional. I believe it to be moral as well and in line with the history of our great nation.

I do want to express that I empathize with the supporters of my opponents who lost. Many of them created this iteration of Mount Augusta with something else in mind and did not expect to lose this election. I understand if many of them wish to leave but I would like to extend my hand in friendship and offer for them to stay in Mount Augusta instead. I believe in a traditional Mount Augusta where you don't have to like everyone in the town and it isn't a clique like some other democracies. I believe that a family sometimes fights, but they are still family bound by ties of blood. I will be forming a reconciliation dialogue forum with half the forum comprised of Ahme63 supporters and half the forum comprised of my supporters with a neutral non-partisan mediator in the middle, likely wFang if he will accept. I have also nominated Ahme63 for my head of intelligence in my cabinet and SandFalls as Registrar as a show of good faith. I think there is a lot to discuss and that we can learn from each other, we can heal and move forward unified and stronger.

Openness however can be a double edged sword as I said in my campaign announcement post. I think that foreign influence in Mount Augusta is fine in moderation, I do not think that foreign vote brigading or foreign influence broadly should be able to happen and succeed. I do not see why someone with 20 citizenships should have the same say as a sole-Mount Augusta citizen. I am for any reforms that make the voter registration or citizenship requirements more difficult while allowing us to be an open society as we have been historically.

My preferred method of tackling this problem is to give every Mount Augusta citizen two non-divisible vote points per candidate or issue. Every dual citizen would get one vote point. Every triple citizen would get a half of a vote point. After two citizenships in addition to Mount Augusta they would just cap at a half a point.

You may ask, how do we implement this? Aren't people going to lie about their citizenships? Well here's how you implement this change:

When someone goes to register to vote at the voter tree they must list their other citizenships or foreign allegiances. If they vote in an election and it can be proven that they are a dual citizen (honorary or otherwise) of another country OR have a rank or benefit conferred upon them which is equivalent to citizenship in a nation then they will have committed voter fraud. Obviously there are problems with this still. One obvious problem is that they simply ignore this and do it anyways but that's not an argument against this proposal because murder is illegal and yet it still happens despite its illegality and immorality. The law is not meant to stop crime, it is meant to discourage it from happening. Law enforcement and public safety are meant to stop crime from happening, respond to crime happening or directly and actively discourage it with force if need be.

Another problem may be if a country wants to influence our elections they will send a brigade of "former" citizens instead of current citizens with them actually having all the benefits of citizenship. The simple solution to this is to be proactive with a diplomat in checking their Discords, having a judge require further information to confirm they have renounced their citizenship in good faith. I firmly believe in the ability and intelligence of our judicial system to be able to determine who is and is not a citizen of a country with the assistance of criteria set out in law and the office of the diplomat.

There is also the problem of how we determine which citizenships count. Well I want to sign mutual recognition treaties with most of the server's nations. This will help lend us legitimacy and with the prestige of our decade long legacy it will definitely benefit them. Furthermore it provides a legal argument for our government of what citizenships we will recognize and a legal argument if the treaty is broken for breaking off diplomatic relations or taking other actions. Most of all, it formalizes the actual state of affairs on the server and extends a friendly Mount Augustan hand to other countries, establishing a relationship that can be further progressed in the future.

With this reform it would not take away someone's voting rights for being a dual citizen, it would merely lower their influence. This does not affect their right too be a citizen, it does not affect their ability to own property. If they want a full vote, they should be loyal principally and solely to the town they are playing in. If they are not playing here and have other ties, they should not have as much of a say as anyone who doesn't. We implemented this on CivRealms and had no issues of voter brigading from foreign nations.

I am opposed to using activity as a measure of voting rights or citizenship because I do not think it is a good metric to use. The only way to measure activity definitively is to have every square inch of Mount Augusta snitched and to have the citizens monitored constantly and have a bot calculate their investment in the city objectively. The other way is to make citizens snitch on each other for not being in the city enough. Either way it is pretty ridiculous to imagine a surveillance state or a citizen surveillance state. I do not want to have to tell on my neighbors or behave like some cop. I want my neighbors to be neighborly. I think determining activity would lead to un-neighborly behavior.

Aside from the election and how to fix foreign voter influence I would like to address some plans and updates that I have that were not included in my original campaign announcement.

• First LGBT-majority elected government in Mount Augustan history (I think).

• Celebration of Pride Month.

• A commitment to a gender equal cabinet.

• The formation of the National Guard of Mount Augusta

Mount Augusta will for the first time in her history have a majority of its elected officials be from the LGBT community and during Pride Month no less! This is a tremendous set of circumstances that have led to this historic opportunity for the LGBT community of Mount Augusta.

On the same vein I would like to announce that there will be a Pride Month celebration in Mount Augusta on the 29th of June 2022, all LGBT and allies are invited to come. During the campaign I committed to a gender-equal cabinet and as such have nominated three male identifying persons and three female identifying persons as cabinet members. I hope that this will help us understand each others perspectives and make governing and our culture more inclusive to women. My administration is committed to making Mount Augusta a safe place for all, while respecting the rights of people to have free speech and the like.

As Governor I would like to form a formalized citizen army called the National Guard of Mount Augusta. It will have formalized military ranks and structure. The Governor will be the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard although there will be an elected Captain or Major of the regiment. Every service member will take an oath to support and defend the constitution and obey officers above them as well as the Commander-in-Chief. Their main mission will be to protect Mount Augusta, its borders, its future vault, and if necessary Mount Augusta's allies should she decide she wants allies. While there is a sort of silly roleplay aspect to the military ranks, I actually do think that a nation such as ours with a history of individualism and well to be frank disorganization might benefit from top-down military order and organization. I also just really want to organize a military parade at some point. Citylion will make tanks.
