Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to check in and see how everyone is preparing for the final exam. I didn’t perform as well as I’d hoped during the semester, so I’m working on putting together a solid cheat sheet to help me out. If anyone has tips, key topics, or strategies that they’ve found helpful, please feel free to share—I’m sure it could benefit others too!
Good luck with your studies, and thanks in advance for any advice!
Did anyone else witness Dr. Butz put hands on a girl after lecture today? It was kind of shocking. What is the best way to report this?
hi, im taking bio265 for the first time and im lowkey scared for the final. its on the 16th, which is decently far away (for now) and i wanna study ahead of time because i want a good grade in the class. any tips? anything would be appreciated!!!
I'm currently purusing Computer Science under the BA and I just found these courses. I'm only in my first year and so the courses description and prerequisites may change, but how likely is it that they would let a BA CS major take these courses? Really interested in them. Also is there any reason they're not cross listed with COSC, seems very applicable to COSC majors. Esp those who want to go into cyber sec.
Was anyone here in class last Thursday and can give me highlights from the lecture? I've been super sick and didn't realize that would be the last lecture of the semester. This final might actually kill me.
Can I earn some cash if I sell my old textbooks to Paper & Supply?
For anyone who has taken COSC 304 in the past, what would you recommend looking at besides lecture notes to ensure a very strong grade?
is anyone using any other resource aside from the textbook to study for this course? the textbook is a bit confusing for me and i would love to find other helpful resources to study for it
If anyone has taken these courses, can you please let me know which one to choose.Thank you
Just saw this post from the phoenix about an engineer group putting a message about bombing protesters in their project? What happened? There wasn’t much detail
Here is the article: https://www.thephoenixnews.com/posts/ubco-engineering-students-trained-to-be-ostriches-with-their-heads-in-the-sand. It’s a great read with some good points from Dr. Taheri
Does anyone have any advice for studying for the bio 116 exam with robin young? She is actually my worst nightmare, but I need to pass her class. I have been getting low grades on midterms, but am at an okay grade in the class right now. This is my first year of university exams so I would appreicate any tips! Thank you
Does anyone have any tips for studying for the PSYO 313 Final with Paul Gabias? I am worried it'll be challenging, especially since his last midterm was kinda tough. It's really hard to figure out what to study since there is so much content to cover.
If I have good references and a good Casper score but mid grades am I not guaranteed a position in the nursing program as a transfer student?
how many hrs did you study/socialize/EC at ubco compared to upper years of highschool to get decent grades?
edit: asked because i currently average around an hour a day. sometimes none and 3-4hrs before quizzes/tests. and somewhat worried to learn it the hard way next year 💔
Hi folks, I am currently in my 4th year of Psych at UBC and am contemplating applying for the MSW foundational program next year, however I wanted to see if it would make sense to do that when considering my future plans (ultimately a private practice RCC). I have seen some other threads that seem to suggest the UBCO MSW program can be tailored to attaining RCC designation after graduation (via elective coursework and selective practicum placements) however I don't see much confirmation for this.
Has anyone here graduated from the MSW program and pursued becoming an RCC/having a private practice, and could you speak on what that looked like?
Thank you in advance!! :)
Anyone who's taken the lab exam in the past, do you have any tips for it?
Hi everyone! So basically there's this guy who's in one of my classes and I think he's really cute but I don't think he knows who I am and he always sits with other people, sometimes other girls. One of my friends is kind of friends with him but I've never actually been introduced. However, I know he's a commuter so he doesn't spend too much time on campus. Anyway, any ideas on what to do? I think we follow each other on Instagram if that helps at all. P.s. I know this is crazy but help a girl out!!
Anyone else notice that nasty mouldy water dispenser sitting outside the lecture hall for weeks? Honestly embarrassing that the university/faculty wont get rid of this thing that they most likely put themselves, and are risking people getting sick by drinking from it. I see the level going down slightly every day and I feel really bad for whoever is drinking from it not realizing that they are drinking pure mould and rotten lemons.
If my first semester grade are dog am I cooked in getting into nursing?
I took my lab exam yesterday, and I’m so scared I might fail. It was nothing like the assignments! Before the exam, I felt confident, but this was completely unexpected. Now I’m worried about the BIOL 202 final exam because it’s likely going to be even harder. How did you all feel about the lab exam?
Which Major is the best to choose if I am in bachelor of science and want to go to Med School.
I just lost my fob key in ART 103 or somewhere near the room. Please let me know if you have seen it or have it🙏
Has anyone had their lab exam yet? Im so scared for it and dont know how to study
I forgot to take my car jump starter after using it front of the monashee buildign on campus. Its a black and duracell-brand; I use it because my car has a bad alternator and often needs help starting up. I checked the Lost and Found in Nechako and its not there. Someone living in residence or maintainence staff probably picked it up, though I'm not sure where to check to find it.
For anyone who took COSC 341 with Hassan before, What would you recommend doing besides revisiting past lectures and re-doing the participation questions to ensure a strong grade on the final?
Good evening
Just wondering how previous students have prepared for this exam? Outside of doing the assignments again and doing the tutorials, I'm not sure what else I can do to prepare for this.
Thanks in advance!
I am a ubco engineering grad, Coming from a middle class background with financial difficulties, I have always been enthusiastic about investing and building wealth towards financial freedom. After few years of research and studying the market, I am thinking about starting a side business and share my experiences and teach young people how to start investing!
The key is to invest early and often, no matter how small! I wish someone told me this few years ago.
I wouldn’t mind sharing my learnings with few people from this group free of charge (as much as my schedule allows). Shoot me a message and I will try my best to have a short meeting with you or at least send you a recap of my learnings. Best of luck!
I would like to TA first year bio or chem next year. Does anyone know when and where the applications come out and the process?
I’ve just lost my AirPods in arts the strip of yellow singular booth chair thing. I lost it on friday 22nd around 12-5pm. If anyone found it please let me know :( i don’t wanna spend 300$ on new ones.
Campus security says they don’t carry it and nechako says they only carry in house lost and found. I’m so sad 😭😭
Find My wouldn’t return the location for 2 days now (since at lost point at 1pm) so i’m at a road block. I’ve already activated Lost Mode.
If you have any info please contact me 7782143440 or insta at rin.m04
