Hi, I'm a U0 and this first semester in ChemEng is really killing me. I have done nothing but study and am on an emotionnal rollercoaster and so so tired. I'm sure I'm not alone. I'm starting to stress about next term and don't want to burnout. I haven't skip any classes but haven't managed to go to open doors.
I need some advice about the courses I've taken for this Winter 25 term.
I've taken CHEE 220 - CHEM 120 - PHYS 142 - MATH 262 - FACC 100
Are these tough alone, is this feasible all together? Am I going to lose my mind and mental health? How are the profs?
Any feedback will help. Thanks
so are we cooked... i love how he's making the exam 50/50 with pre and post-midterm material, he just LOVES to be different 😍 and no practice too, he's SO GENEROUS!! hopefully there's a curve because i have no idea what to expect for friday
Why is the General Assembly trying to remove the SSMU President, and what's contained under "impropriety and delinquency"? I feel so out of the loop, having no idea what this petition is about.
I heard 273, 551 have high-levels of workloads. What do you think? What are your experiences with other classes. I know french will be easy but it still consumes time.
I'm interested in starting tennis (introduction), but some beginner classes are 100$ while others are 80$. I looked at the descriptions, and they're identical. Does anyone know why there's a price difference?
This class is so hard and draining, I need a 97 on the final to finish with an A, literally have never been in this position before but the class tests have been going so poorly for me. Does anyone have any tips on how to approach studying for the final? Thank you :,(
I’m going to apply and want to know how good the odds are of getting in.
Just discovered that you cant audit language courses at mcgill……….. I’m a mcgill student but graduating soon and would like to spend My gap year learning either Russian or Arabic (or both). Any good/reputable options in montreal Or even online That is similar to the intensive language study courses at mcgill?
Hihi all,
Hope your evenings are going well. That last PHIL 210 assignment was... perplexing. With the final coming up next Monday, I figured it’s better late than never to set up a group chat for study help. A few people have already joined, but everyone in the course is welcome to hop in! Hope this will be of use to some of you guys :)
Here is the invite link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Br9RqCF9vYY6ZUtjlLrWKz
hey girlies! does anyone know a good, affordable lash tech either downtown or within a few metro stops? i’ve seen two people in Montreal over my past three years here, but no one compares to my girl at home :(
thanks!
I am behind in the class and the final is next Monday. Lectures/recordings super unhelpful. How on earth do I study for this final - any advice is appreciated.
SEEEND HEEELPPPPP WHAAATTT IS HAPPENING O MY GOD 😭😭
Can someone tell me what was their experience applying for it? I really want to do it, like really really want to, but my gpa is lowkey low and I wanna know if they care about that a lot? I think I have a good chance experience wise (I’ve had a lot of internship, leadership experience, etc.) but I think my grades are lacking. For people who got accepted if you guys don’t mind sharing what your gpa was?
I don’t know chat, am I the only one who literally doesn’t understand what we are doing in class and also find the webwork insanely difficult? Like I went through the textbook and for some questions I still have no clue. I didn’t do very well on the midterm and I’m scared crapless for the final. I believe this is my sign to change majors and say goodbye to mathematics and computer science forever🫡
Hello! So I’m sci trying to apply to med and I need to take 2 engl courses that are bird enough and less time consuming so I can keep my GPA. I think I’m going to take WCOM 250 for one and I’m in between ENGL 204, 215 and 290 for my second. Any thoughts? Or maybe other recs? Thanks!!
I am dealing with the death of a parent this semester and wanted to ask if anyone knows about the flexibility around the S/U option? I have two electives this semester and already taking one S/U but am really, truly struggling to keep up with the second one and am wondering if anyone has been able to take two S/U in one semester / how it works. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm in BCom btw.
I have so many questions about my degree, doing a second degree, credits transfer, pathway to med school, etc that i cant find the answer to online.
Who should i email for these questions or to book an email for advisi by appointment?
Trying to lock in but I get drowsy as soon as I sit down and work. I already know of the standing desks in McLennan, the SSMU Building, and Leacock. Are there any more? (I figure we'll also end up compiling a decent list here seeing as the relevant older posts are all a few years old)
Hi all! I’m currently a first year student and I came in with 20 transfer credits. Due to my program’s specific requirements for classes, I was bumped to U1. However, i am missing a few credits to be U1 on minerva and was looking for online courses. However, I can’t seem to find anything about them online. Does anyone know anything about it?
I was also thinking of taking summer online courses, but my advisor told me it has to be done through another university?
While i’m at it, if anyone has recs for easy online courses during winter 2025- I’d love some ideas!
Last year (Winter 2024) I fell into a deep depressive state and failed 1 class which meant that I was missing 3 credits to graduate. I had already applied and got accepted to another degree at another university since I thought I was going to graduate that semester. I took a summer 2024 class and dropped it early on because my mental health was still in shambles. Over the summer I spoke to a lot of doctors and am feeling much better now. The issue is that I tried re-applying to McGill for the Winter 2025 session and they denied me because of me attending another university. Should I try again by omitting that I am taking courses elsewhere, or will they know? I really want my diploma lmao help 😭
TLDR; I am missing 3 credits for my diploma but I'm registered at another university and want to know how to get my diploma pls and thx
no caps allowed.
Hey guys having my psyc 215 final in a week or so with Lydon. Any tips? anything helps, i dont know what to expect at all :)
Hey McGill, if you're looking to take COMP 206/250/273 next semester, I made a Discord server for this!!!!! If you're in CS/Soft Eng/Comp Eng or a similar minor you might be familiar with the MATH 240 server if you're currently taking it. My server will work much the same, with somewhat similar rules. In the server guide section I compiled some resources for each of the 3 courses based on the syllabus if you are interested in starting early!
Here's the link if you're interested in joining: https://discord.gg/4daUZXT7X5
And please complete the course evaluation on myCourses for those taking COMP 202 rn as a reminder!
Trying to make a game with McGill lore! For now I have, flood girl, cloudberry the squirrel, the yearly lettuce contest, fight club in 2020-2021, and some movies/shows that were filmed on campus. Any other good ones out there? The funnier the better:)
hey so does anyone else feel literally so unbelievably fucked for the assignment and the midterm ! this class has single-handedly destroyed any and all faith or courage i had in myself prior to taking it
Anyone knows where we are going to take the exam? I only saw the time but no location yet
Going on exchange for winter 2025. I'm in management and there are limited classes for me to take. There are some finance major classes I would love to take but don't have the prerequisites for at McGill. For example, I want to take derivatives on exchange but haven't taken advanced bus stats. Has anyone heard of anyone doing something like this before?
y'all i dont get the way max fixed the grade
he said he divided the grade we got by 28 and multiplied it by 30.
This makes no sense to me. there were 2 bonus questions (4 marks total): the one with ETC and the one with bunch of graphs with intestine, muscle, brain. so shouldnt the exam be out of 26 and he should be adding the bonus point to the total points you got??
so lets say i got 18 points for the regular content and 4 points for the bonus, i should be getting 22/26 not 19.6/30 (with the math or wtv he did).
i feel like im getting scammed bruh
