I think I lost a pair of Oakley sunglasses in the Schulich library on Wednesday, October 30th, likely on the 2nd or 3rd floor. If anyone by any chance saw a pair of sunglasses lying around, in this building or elsewhere on campus, it would mean a lot to me to get in touch, the glasses were a prized possession of mine. I went to the porters office, unfortunately to no avail. Thanks in advance🙏
Does McGill issue ID cards for alumni?
Has anyone switched from major physics to engineering? Im U1 and thinking about switching but I heard it's super hard to move between departments
I want to know how many courses mcgill graduate students TA for per semester.
How are you guys/gals able to balance your studies and TA responsibilities?
Hi! I'm currently enrolled in Electroacoustic Studies at Concordia, and am considering my post-grad options, one of which is the M.A. in Music Technology at McGill. I would love to hear from anyone who is currently enrolled or who has experience with the masters program, learn about the quality of your experience, and also ask a few questions:
What kind of projects are you working on / did you work on as a part of your masters thesis?
Testimonials I've read online have said that the M.A. in Music Tech is much closer to a science program than to a music program - how much have math & coding been a part of your postgrad experience? What experience / lack thereof did you have in sciences before enrolling?
Are you involved with CIRMMT at all? If so, how has that impacted your postgrad experience?
Why did you choose the M.A. in Music Technology at McGill? What other options did you consider, and why were you drawn to McGill over them?
If you had to give a piece of advice to yourself before starting your masters, what would that be?
Answer as many or few as you would like, I really would just like to hear from people that have some experience with the program. Thanks a bunch! :-)
I was looking for an HSS to fill up my schedule for Winter 2025, and this seemed very interesting to me since I'm in eng but I love philosophy, along with the fact that averages for this class were very high (I prolly just want to S/U it tho). So I just wanna ask wow hard is the course, and did anyone ever take this course with Maclure? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has already done the internship year in science in another country and if you still had to get a canadian coop work permit, ISS told me I wouldn’t need one but I’m still afraid they might not let me in without a coop work permit.
Thanks
Hi! I’m really interested in developmental psychology and want to learn something that would help me to apply for graduate school in research direction about fields like cognitive psychology. I don’t wanna go for clinical direction, maybe more applied direction so in the future can go and find a job after achieving a master level. Any advice for course selection? Thanks!
And the day after Halloween too.. I think I need to start preparing for the final as of tonight 💀
Has anyone taken the intensive beginner Italian language course with Cristiana Furlan? If so, how is she as a teacher? Also, how would the class be for someone that speaks english and french fluently?
Hey!
Has anyone ever taken human cognition in the brain during the summer? I'm thinking of doing it to get rid of a few credits... opinions are welcome
With McGill's new system, mycreds, you must order a copy to mycreds then you are given one share credit to send to an institution. To do so, I need my application number (which I won't get until I submit my application). However, the graduate program I am applying to requests that I upload a PDF copy before I can submit my application??? Really confused and not sure what to do. Does anyone know if there is another way to go about getting an official copy.
I am currently taking Engl 290 and need to take another English literature course next semester and I was wondering what the easiest one would be.
I recently learned that the controversial psychiatrist Pierre Mailloux got his medicine degree at Université de Laval then got a certificate in psychiatry at McGill in the 70's.
I was curious to know what we're the subjects of his thesis, memoir and/or research when he was a student but I found nothing. Now, I am obsessed and I need to know!
There was nothing available to me on both universities librairies but maybe it's because I'm not a student? Can someone do a search for me?
CAPS LOCK MANDATORY.
Has anyone here taken FRS 103 before? How hard is it? Since FRS 101 isn’t offered this winter, seems like 103 is the only beginner course other than 105.Any idea on how much French background I’d need?”
how did you guys do?? I don't see the class average, so i'm wondering if others did as bad as I did.
genuinely don’t know how or what to prioritize in this course, lectures aren’t clarifying things for me at this point…anyone else feeling the same or had a similar experience in the class?
U1 student at McGill, Economics major with a minor in Political Science. In my U2, was thinking of switching to an English Major but wasn't sure of the difference between English Literature and Cultural Studies. I´m just searching for an English major in which I can read books, write essays and can't really decipher the difference between English Literature and English Cultural Studies.
Hi, I’m looking for 2 tickets to Soubois Friday November 1st for the Casa Verde - Notre Dame event. Pm me if you’re selling pls!!
Im a UDEM student but always loved the vibe of the downtown mcgill campus. Udem does have some pretty nice spots but I think Mcgill is pretty well known for its beautiful campuses, and im someone who values beauty in my study spots. I was wondering if I, a non-Mcgill student, can go study there or do I absolutely need to be a student (needing a student card or wtv. Thanks you :)))
Is anyone else really concerned about this class? The prof switch is so confusing and I seriously think I’m going to fail the midterm. How are other ppl feeling about it?
Wondering about how exam regrades tend to go- usually will they work for or against the student? Debating whether it's worth it or not to request
Hey guys! I saw another student ask this but didn’t seem to get any responses. Has anyone used the 3D printers at McGill? Are they still available? If so how do I access them? Thanks!
This is starting to get on my nerves. Damn near desperate for a job, opening my email 6 - 7 times a day hoping to see an interview invite, and I see this ridiculous thing.
The email was a 'mail.mcgill.ca'. Is McGill doing anything about this?
Anyway, putting this out there to make you aware. No matter how helpless you feel, never click on a link in an email like this....
Hi! Planning on taking soci 235 next semester with Skyler Wang. I'm a political science major and was hoping this would be somewhat interesting and easy. Does anyone have any tips/advice/info on the structure of the class, the grading scheme, and the professor themselves?
Thanks in advance !!
The exam is over and HOW DID EVERYONE PERFORM??
