Hi I recently just got an offer of admission to langaras bsn program and I accepted the offer but they didn’t make me give a deposit or anything. Am I missing something? Also what are the next steps after accepting your offer just incase I don’t miss anything. Thanks!!
After I left my evening class on Thursday Oct 31, I suddenly got violently ill. Like, chills, nausea, possible diarrhea, cold extremities, and I wasn’t 100% lucid. I’m not sure if it’s a seasonal thing, some kind of bug, or something I ate (leaning towards food poisoning since I was feeling perfectly fine before class). The only thing I can think of that might have made me sick is a turkey sandwich from Starbucks on campus, I was wondering if anyone else has had one of those recently and also got sick?
I’m feeling somewhat better now, but my Apple Watch has been telling me some of my vitals were out of whack while I was sleeping lol
I just a full time job from Monday-Saturday. It from 10am-6pm with travel commute of 30 mins from school to workplace. Can I even take any classes at all for with this work schedule for January intake? If I could, i would be in first semester in Accounting Program.
I read the guide for CS students planning to transfer to SFU and reviewed the required courses listed on the SFU website, but I’m still unsure which courses to start with. I’m concerned about beginning with a course that might be too difficult, especially since I don’t have any prior experience in Computer Science. I want to avoid feeling overwhelmed or discouraged
Hi folks I’ll need to be doing stat 1124 as a pre req for nursing but it also says to have either foundations or pre calc 11 as a pre requisite I already did that in hs it was 2020 I believe so it’s been more than 3 yrs and they say I have to redo it even though I have the grade cut off they’re looking for in pre calc 11. So my question is if I just register for stat will they know will it be a big deal to not repeat math 11 the idea of redoing math 11 is absolutely insane to me. Is it really that important will it affect my performance in stat?
Hello everyone,
I’m currently in LEAP 7, and I’m planning to take the LET exam so I can study a university transferable English course ,like ENGL 1100, to apply to UBC, so I want to be as prepared as possible. Could you recommend any resources I could use to study? Also, is the LET exam easier than the IELTS? I have some anxiety about taking the IELTS, so I’ve been avoiding it. Additionally, is it possible to achieve a score of 4 on the LET exam? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello everyone,
I’m considering switching my program to Computer Science, though I don’t have any prior experience or coursework in the field. I haven’t taken any CS classes before, so I’d love to get advice on how best to get started and navigate this change.
I’m also planning to transfer to SFU eventually, so if anyone has insight on which specific courses to take for that path, especially for the first semester, that would be incredibly helpful. I’ve already reached out to counseling, academic advising, and the Computer Science department, but unfortunately didn’t find the guidance I was looking for. If anyone knows someone at the college who could help with this or has been through a similar experience, I’d really appreciate your insight!
I’d also love recommendations for any professors to either seek out or avoid, along with tips to make this program feel more manageable.
Additionally, if you have suggestions for LinkedIn Learning courses or other resources I could check out before starting, or any pros and cons of the CS program, please let me know.
is stats 1181 easier than 1123?
i struggle with stats, so i want to take the easiest course. please let me know ur opinions
Hi, I'm in the associates degree for compsci and am planning to transfer to UBC with 30 credits. this is my first semester and I currently have CPSC 1050 and 1150. For the next semester, would I take CPSC 1181 or 1160? Or both?
Has anyone else received an email requesting for course outlines? I just got mine and status changed to “App Assessed: Still Incomplete”

Hi! I was wondering how long it usually takes for decisions to come back once you’ve applied for the nursing program at langara. I applied for the fall 2025 Intake in the beginning of October so when do you think I’ll get a decision back?
A wall in the library .
Has anybody gotten their refunds yet? It's been ~1 month since I opted out and nothing so far
Anyone know about the recent election disaster that happened? Saw the headline on the Voice but anyone know what actually went on?
Hi! I am currently taking psych 1115 and 1215 and they're my favourites of the semester. I loved the chapters where we learnt about human biology, I was wondering if anyone had any biology class recommendations with engaging profs that don't include much math? thanks
I’m currently taking this course and I’m finding myself struggling to follow along with the speed in which the material is delivered. I’m also taking Psych 1215 but I find the delivery methods to be easier to digest by that particular professor. My Psych 1115 prof uploads the slides but doesn’t record the lectures and a lot of the slides are just images with no descriptions/ explanations included. After the first exams it’s clear that I’m not understanding the material/ concepts. If anything ideally YouTube links like my Psych 1215 class does that would be extremely helpful.
Hey everyone,
I'm a journalist from Langara Voice. We're looking into the housing problem for students in Langara area. If anyone have experience or know a student who have struggle with housing that are comfortable sharing, I'd appreciate it a lot.
This might be a silly question, but my last final exam for this semester is on December 11 so does that mean I won't have to come to class after that date?
Thanks in advance :)
Hi guys I was having mental health problems some time ago and I’m really scared to appeal my second academic suspension to come back to school.
Venting on here and asking for real (real) advice to not be such a stinker and shoot my shot (the appeal.). How should I write it? I know there’s a how-to-write-an-appeal guide on the school’s website. I’m just scared I might get denied and be forced to go to school at VCC or worse 😭
appreciate it !!
I am looking for a part-time job to continue along with my studies at langara on- campus or anywhere off- campus but I am unable to find any. I trying to get a job since 10 months but does not any response from anyone. Can anybody please help?
Hey, I’m taking 2325 Taxation from Vicky Cai and it’s completely online. What kind of midterm exam (on-campus) can i expect? What kind of grader is she? Tips are much appreciated!
Hi Langara, another school reporter here. I’m looking to find information around the process students deal with when they have concerns regarding their physical safety at Langara. If you have any experience in the matter or know someone who has, that would be willing share even anonymously please reach out privately or feel free to mention it on this thread.
The hope of this story is that if we can identify flaws in the process we push for changes that might help make campus a safer space for everyone, thank you and bless.
Hi,guys I’m a first year student of Langara College, and I plan to transfer to UBC arts next year. What courses should I take, I,m taking macroeconomics and microeconomics this semester.
I’m currently in first year Criminology right now and taking 5 courses (Big mistake, i know) but planning to drop 1 of the courses, and I want to change programs to ECE. Crim and ECE are both limited enrollment, so I’m just wondering if there will be any complications to switching? And do I just fill out the program switch form and email it, or is there some other stuff i have to do? and how much will my current grades in my crim program matter when switching to ECE, will it be harder to switch if the grades are poor? I’m pretty lost and new to all of this stuff so I’m still having trouble navigating things like this, i’d appreciate any advice at all. Thank you!
Hey folks, I'm a journalist with the Langara Voice and I'm currently working on a story about Langara's Accessibility Services. Has anybody any experiences with getting an appointment, or just the general accessibility of Langara as a campus? I noticed that on the website it says that getting an intake appointment can take 2-3 weeks, which seems like just another thing to stress about at the start of a semester (especially for international students, who already have to manage moving an integrating into a new country).
Hello, I’m looking for anyone who has dashcam footage or any witnesses for a car accident that occurred on Oak St and W 49th AVE on October 8th around 1:00PM. The cars involved were a black BMW X5 and 5 ton Danma Kitchen Cabinets truck.
Please let me know if you were there or know of anyone who may have been there. Any help with this is much apreciated, thank you !!
