Internal Transfer to Bsc - Need to make up Chemistry 30

so I'm in psych arts right now and I just applied to transfer to science. I have biology 30 but I didn't do chemistry 30 in high school and I know I don't need it to get into the program but I do need it in order to take bio 107 and I assume I need it for every other bio and chemistry class. is there an equivalent offered here that I can take to upgrade? can I do it next semester or even over the summer? how does that all work? or do I have to achieve it through a different institution like one of those highschool upgrading programs? the faster I can do it the better.

also, if you have any other additional information I should know about transferring from arts to science please let me know. I haven't spoken to any academic advisors or anything about this yet (though I'm planning on it) so any information is helpful. like is it possible that it will delay my degree by a semester? I'm kind of worried about that and really don't want to delay it at all since I'm planning to do co-op already.

Should I upgrade MATHS?

Hey everyone, I am looking to apply for BCOM in fall 2025 and just need an opinion, I am returning student I did a post secondary which was 2 year business admin program and I am able to transfer 3 of courses, however I am confused if I should consider upgrading my high school grade in Maths (international student) as I was in mid 60's as Maths is one of the requirements for BCOM but with the rest of grades by overall comes to 89%.

Eng m 401 final

I have the Eng m 401 final on Thursday and I've been very inconsistent with attending the lectures since it's a 6 pm class and all my other classes end at 2. Can anyone who has it or has had it in the past please tell me of anything the prof has said is on the final? Maybe some topics and calculations I should really focus on? Or topics that have been in past finals ? Thank you.

Electives for Winter 2025

Before anyone gets mad, I’ve literally looked at all the posts about electives on this sub dating back to the Middle Ages. There’s probably some hidden gems out there that I don’t know about, so I’d appreciate someone giving me an easy or medium course that’s completely online and exams + finals aren’t scheduled to be written at a specific time slot (like open until midnight on the exam day).

I have to work full-time and take 3 courses, so please help me out for next semester. The courses can be from any faculty.

Unable to book exam

I am a freshman studying Economics 101. Today I found out that I cannot schedule an online exam at lec. I am very anxious now. Will this make me lose the chance to take the exam?

Switching universities because of a low gpa

Hi so I’m in my second year and I transferred from Concordia university. My gpa is dropping quite a lot at uofa and I’m wondering whether it would just be better to transfer over to Concordia again or Macewan as that may bring my gpa up even though they’re not as prestigious of a university.

Finance Courses in Spring/Summer

Which Fin courses are usually offered during Spring/Summer term? I understand the Spring courses catalogue is not released until late Jan but I only have 2 Fin courses left and BUEC 211 until graduation and can't afford the risk of taking these courses in Fall.

music during exams

mini rant. I wish so much that we were allowed to have headphones on while doing our exams. I transferred from a different school and I had one prof that did not care and we could have headphones on and listen to whatever during our exams and final which was amazing.

I always listen to some sort of background sounds/music while studying (nemos dreamscape ♡) and its the worst having to take exams in the 'quiet', even though i notice and pay attention to all the other small sounds, i hate it. I got those Loop sound filter buds and they are meh... but I just wish that we could have headphones and listen to music. I get why but also hate it.

Needing help deciding between two classes (Pol S)

Trying to decide which class to drop for Political Science in the winter term. Either POL S 211 or POL S 261. Same Prof teaches both, their ratings are all over the place (3.3/5). Im not sure which class to drop. Is there anyone who has taken both classes or one who can give me advice?

Grade Requirements for Admission to Sci

I'm planning to apply to Bsc of Food Sci & Nutrition. I'm currently in grade 12 and will receive my Indonesia national highschool transcript as well as my ALevel grades. I have an average of 87% in my transcript for grade 11 and 90% for semester 1 of grade 12. However, my As/A Level grades are not as high with predictions of ABB. I'm very active in terms of extracurricular activities. Is it better for me to apply with ONLY my HS transcripts or attach my ALevels as well? Does my application seem safe? Does a scholarship seem possible as well? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What is everyone's grades looking like? and why is university so difficult?

I thought I would enjoy my university life with free time on my hands but it turns out I have no time to do anything but study and I am still getting low grades. I am averaging C- to C+ in 4 out of 5 of my classes and 1 with a D basically. I am just so tired everyday and have no energy to do anything. Anyone else have bad grades like me?

Campus Bridge ualberta

You are not able to view the Internship job posting board unless you have accepted the terms of service and submitted an intention. Both of these can be found on the 'Internship' tab. Please check that you have completed both of these steps.

Astrophysics or eng

Hi, I am a grade 12 alberta student with a 84 avg (will be around 86-87 by sem 2/feb). I got into astrophysics and got waitlisted from engineering. I was wondering if I could transfer from astrophysics to engineering and could I do co op? Also I was wondering if I would be able to get in engg semester 2 or if it is unlikely. Thanks.
